Re: Saki Quest (Out now!!!!)

Which files do I need to replace in Saki Quest Translated version 1 to get version 2 of the translation ? Just the exe ?
You don't it's the full game again, the save's should still switch over.

I COULD put the data files up but that leads to all sorts of problems with file folder names.

I think the way you've covered it is fine. Why give yourself extra stuff to troubleshoot when people get it wrong.

Pretty much my reasoning behind not doing it that way :L, besides they'd STILL need a full version for the graphics files

I would prefer to upload the data files. The size is significantly smaller than sending the rgss2a/3a files or the exe precisely because the graphics aren't included. It makes uploading far simpler for me, especially with the crap connection I have. Also, if you went to the trouble of translating the game, the least the people could do is to go to the trouble of finding the one or two programs (which are really easy to find) required to extract the graphics/audio/whatever files are packed and the game (which is also usually simple enough to find). I can understand if the game links are pretty much all dead or deeply buried somewhere, but that is clearly not the case with Saki Quest or Parallel Fantasy/Zero, Virgin Island, and Arms Devicer which you are looking into at the moment.

You spent hours of your time. I'm sure they can spare one of their own.

Lazy fuckers (I'm clearly an angry person).

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of the future, when some of those links go down. I mean the reason I ended up here on ULMF is for similar reasons, finding old links in the RPG Maker thread, and there's nothing more annoying than thinking you've found what you're looking for only to realise it's not the whole thing or it's a dead file.

Re: Saki Quest (Out now!!!!)

i love the english translated version, it makes more sense to see it in a native language although most of the artistry gets lost in the translation.

Re: Saki Quest (Out now!!!!)

Found three untranslated bits.
First is when talking to the Janitor, after completing all his previous trainings.
2nd is in the Orc Town house with the maids, before going to the dungeon and fighting Senior.
3rd is when you first go in the Orc Town dungeon that has Senior in it.
Also are you planning on translating Parallel Fantasy Zero too someday? It is a prequel. is it not ?
Included the three pics of the untranslated bits, perhaps unhelpful though.

Re: Saki Quest (Out now!!!!)

I triggered at least two different untranslated messages when leaving the top floor of the brothel. (No screenshots, sorry)

Thank you Monkeyman767 for the English translation of this game.

While I enjoyed the majority of the game, I wasn't a big fan of dungeon four because for how the dungeon was a nightmare to complete with the enemies taking multiple hits to go down (999 lust) and the closeness of each enemy.

Nope, those are perfectly helpful, means that they're map events that I missed, the creator does that a lot, puts events WAY outside the visible map that I keep missing because of that :L

Of course it might be a while before I get it done simply because I'm busy with AD and Virgin Island.

If it helps , at the door she's saying she can hear a noise but that she better go just in case.
the dungeon one is "I can feel someone really powerful, hang on senior I'm coming"
and the janitor is just his choices...which I could SWEAR I did.

Also, those are just approximations from what little Japanese I've picked up while doing this :p

Re: Saki Quest (Out now!!!!)

Hate double posting but figured this warranted it, SQVersion 3 is uploading.

Will post here when I'm done.

Not much different, fixed the three pointed out scenes and a few spelling errors.
Unless something is gamebreaking-ly broken this will be my last version of this.

Edit: Uploading errors, not bothered starting again, tomorrow, again though this update doesn't really do much, it's only for the people where one or two lines
would bother them ( Like myself)

Re: Saki Quest (Out now!!!!)

Just curious, is there any way to lose Saki's virginity except by the janitor? And is there any point to trying to keep her virginity, ala Virgin Quest?

As others have said, thank you for the translation. If you are thinking of future projects, have you considered 'SonabiA'?

It seems to be about a teen girl from a magical school and her friend accidently (or not) freeing a sucubus, and then having to fight monsters.

There are all kind of awesome little events, such as opening a chest, and the guy who put it there trapping the girl. There are scenes for lsong to every basic monster. There is even a mini-stealth-section in an orc camp (as far as i've gotten) with GOR if you are caught.

Oddly the game doesn't seem to have its own thread or much exposure. However, I reckon (translated) that its as good a game as Virgin Island or the 'Quest' series, if not better than the latter ones.

I'm not 100% sure, I think you can't because if you get defeated by any enemy, you get send to the janitor.

Not really unless you like a challenge. You will miss being able to have healing spells and I believe you can't complete the slave arena being a virgin.

SonabiA does has its own thread.

Actually the arena is the only place where it takes virginity into account, if you're a virgin instead of normal rape the crowd will have the buttsecks with Saki, but the picture is the exact same, it;s not worth the struggle to get there.

As for translating Sonabia, I'm afraid I'm not gonna do it, I LOVE his art, really do, but he has a habit of making most of his Game Over's death scenes and that REALLY puts me off it. There's only like 3 in Sonabia that aren't death scenes.

Healing items are better than healing spells in this game anyway, since they ignore speed and ALWAYS go first. Not to mention you get so much money in this game it's ridiculously easy to stay stocked up.

Did my previous comment about untranslated stuff on leaving the brothel fall through the cracks?

It did, my bad. I'll fix it later, not tonight, too tired.

course this means the upload will be delayed by a night.
