The thing about toonpimp is that he knows that he has close to a monopoly on furry games. There are very few furry artists that make games. People will end up paying toonpimp for mediocre content just because he's one of the few that can do it.
He has already expressed that he doesn't care about the sex or furries so that's why you see many projects dropped, when he sees a decline in profit/time he'll scrap the project and try something else.
I doubt he'll ever work on improving frame rate for gameplay (or almost anything gameplay related as long as it's playable), polishing up animations serves him better because it makes the sexual content more appealing which brings in more contributors. Frame rate and mechanics may make the game play better but it's going to decrease the profit/time margins for him.

As much as I didn't mind his Pepe game, charging people to add content to the game feels abit heavy handed. Deliver a half finished game for free, then charge an assload of money to pad out the game.
75 bucks for a new enemy is a bit ludicrous when I can get flashes tailor made to my liking for about the same.

I donated 75$ to some bloke once. From that I got a digital game, a rasin statue, a doll, sticker pack, a poster, a T-shirt and a personalized message in the game.
What I'm saying is that it's not really worth so much money by just having a character in the game.

its better art then I could do but then if I had even that lvl of skill I would try and make at lest a better game.
I'd be willing to pay for some art work and scripting for game maker or the 2k-fighter engine, 3 on 3 set up. 3 player characters and 3 enemy's everything else I could put together myself.

This topic never gets old because he continues to take his bullshit to new heights year after year.
Toonpimp has a bit of talent. But he think's he's the hottest thing on the web. His games are now dated, and have never been solid, save for Fifi's Fury. Even that wasn't AMAZING. It was fun and FINISHED.
He has no ambition, he's greedy, he can't focus. I don't know, maybe he has a condition where he can't focus on a project longer than a few months.
He loves to bash, but when he is bashed, he cowers and removes any posts he doesn't like.
His forum is dead. He has a few people who say he's awesome to get early access to his games and their own little input in whatever he's making.
Like mentioned, all of his females have the same body. Just a different head and colors.
Everything will be fine with toonpimp if you just claim he's the best, don't give him an inch of critique and happily pay for overpriced, low-quality work.

This discussion about TP has been had so many times that anything anyone could conceivably think about adding to the conversation has been said already in this thread: http://www.ulmf.org/bbs/showthread.php?t=319 - just to name one thread, as there are several others pertaining to individual games.
I say we lay off the discussion of TP himself in favor of simply critiquing the game itself. I get that there's a logical progression that leads to the discussion of TP, but let's try anyhow.

This game in specific isn't too bad. He said it was a very early beta.
If that's the case, we might have something special here. But with his new attitude on things, I doubt this will even be finished.
I don't really see much difference between kicking and punching, but he mentioned that different combinations with lead to different types of attacks and maybe some special attacks ( Half circle right + punch or something).
If this is a beta, and non representative of the final product, which I say with some skeptical intentions, he might actually make the Cheetamen better than they ever weren't.

He already had it in that if you hold block and then press in a direction, you run fast as shit.
Kicking seems to be able to hit enemies on the ground. Sometimes. Hit detection is kinda 'meh' when they're downed.

In regards to hit detection with kicking downed enemies it takes realizing that your attacks have a wider range than you may know. Rather, as the combat system seems to be set up for, at its most basic, aerial juggling (which has always been a fun favorite technique for the masses. Man, I miss playing Killer Instinct in the arcade) your attacks are designed to hit things 'higher' than your character sprite is, but in so doing your attacks also hit things slightly further away on the playing field (higher on the Z-axis). Thus, your kick can hit downed enemies, yes, but your character sprite needs to be slightly lower than them on the Z-axis and your hits are nearly always guaranteed.
As for the dragon? That's Spike, or the current rendition of him. He's a recurring character in many of the My Little Pony animated series. I am 90% certain he was put there as a punching bag in sheer retaliation of the suggestion of putting Ponies into the game, as a gag. I thought it was funny, myself. I may not be a huge MLP fan, but I enjoy it for its merits. I mean, come on, Lauren Faust has worked on The Powerpuff Girls (married to Craig McCracken that created PPG and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends) and how kickass were they? It's a bit of the same spirit carried over.
The concept of two-way grappling isn't new, per se, but it seemed to be enjoyed by those playing Legend of the Twin Orbs, as example, only this time you play a male character. *shrug* I'm all for it. I think the proposed plot to back the game is an amusing twist. After all, while some may call it weak or stretched-thin it would serve its purpose fine for establishing enough motive to want to fight through hordes of theoretical mutant creations.
The enemies in the demo, along with the proposed expenses for requesting other game tweaks and additions, has caused a stir. But ultimately this is a very early demo just to display the possible fighting and grapple systems, destructible objects, and character movement. As all things, including models and AI, may be changed in the future it's a little frustrating to see the kind of hype created by some. I understand why it is done, in my own way, but it seems to often overshadow the more important aspects of what is presented, by choice or by force from any involved parties.
Why has nobody 'lolled' at the choice of music or has its reference become obscured by time already? *sigh* Maybe I've just been playing too much Ace Attorney lately.

You see, the developer speaks a language in which the word 'Beta', as relates to games, corresponds to what most others understand as 'a completed game which shall receive no further updates of any kind'. And anything referred to as 'alpha' is 'a completed game I may perhaps release a small patch for sometime'. Taking that into consideration, this is quite lacklustre - though still possibly the best game Toonpimp has ever produced.

Some people are just plain misunderstood..
Some of the nicest guys out there will constantly accidentally do every thing possible to make themselves seem like a total idiot/asshole, and their real personality sort've gets pushed back into the deeper reaches of their mind, only accessible through reasonable one-on-one conversation over a friendly non-conflicting topic.. (I'm sure there's plenty of examples on this forum alone)
Yet on the other hand, there's plenty of people who seem cool, but who really are massive dickheads, and they make your jaw drop wondering how people could ever consider such a shit-bag nice or intelligent... (Again, plenty of examples here, whom know I'm looking at them right now.. ... Uh... Metaphorically.. ..Or something..)
In my personal experience with game developers, it sort've goes like this..
The ones who actually try to make good games and do?.. They have their shit together, and usually are good people..
The ones who actually try, but make crappy games?.. They usually have social problems, and are nice, but are insecure and sensetive...
The ones who don't try, and make good games anyway?.. They're sort've in between.. They have their shit together, but they're kinda jaded...
The ones who don't try, AND make crappy games?.. They're usually laid back, and have more important goals than making games in the first place..
I would figure toonpimp's #4.. But in my personal opinion, his game are not crappy.. They're just simple.
Hell, as far as we know, he could be a #2, and it's all the bitching fans/critics that make him do stuff like charge out the ass..
Frankly, I kinda respect him.. His games are the only furry-based hentai games I could ever stand to play.. But that's mostly because he
doesn't pay much attention to drawing detailed fur, and my brain fills in the blanks and just assumes it's colored flesh... (Tmi?)

I guess I kinda agree, I remember that when Fifi's fury came out everything was sugar and rainbows, he didn't even got mad at the critiques, but when he tried to charge for everything all hell broke loose.

I'm pretty sure that only Toonpimp can pull this off, because he seems to attract highly oblivious loyal fans with loads of cash for some reason.
