So, sort of a continuation, and like I said before, all pet stories are acceptable <3

Re: Pets

aww, can't we just be cute and post pictures of them?

Re: Pets

I have a 20 pound, black and white, cow patterned cat that's allergic to cats. His favorite food is ham.

Oh! And his name is Herk.

My cat. Very much a fuzzbrain. Has one of the largest vocabularies I've ever heard on a cat.

My brother's cat. Spayed female tabby.

Mom's cat. Used to run up the drapes right after we got him. When he came back from getting declawed (All three are declawed in the front paws.) he tried to run up the drapes. He actually managed to get 3/4 of the way up before he lost momentum. When he did, he literally hung in place for a couple of seconds, then frantically scrabbled his front paws trying to get a grip on the drapes before sliding back to the ground. Looked like a cartoon moment.

My Baby Aeris. She's evil. She's left scars on my arms.

Re: Pets

Scars are just part of owning pets, Chibs.

Re: Pets

But she's a demon. I swear. She be purring and loving on me and then WHAM! *Bitebitegnawclaw*

Re: Pets

That's how some cats tell you that they want you to stop petting them. Not that they're evil or demonic. It's just most of them have somewhat limited means of communicating.

But I'm not even petting her. My arm is just laying there, and she's doing this auto pet thing. Then she chomps WHILE SHE'S PURRING. D:

Re: Pets

How hard does she bite down?

Re: Pets

My cat is superior to yours, it can speak in 6 different languages. All right it can't really speak in 6 languages, but she's still superior at least in her mind. She even thinks she's superior to me.

Re: Pets

That's a pretty common feline attitude. Especially for females. Chibi, let me look through some of the materials I have on cat behavior, I might be able to find some answers.

Thanks. Think it has to do with the fact that she's fixed?

Re: Pets

Possibly. Could be she's trying to claim the dominant female position. Somehow, I'd guess you've got a distinct size advantage though.

Re: Pets

should i whack her upside the head when she tries that with me?

Re: Pets

What seems to work with our crew is to get face-to-face with the offender, rather vigorously rub their nose, and unceremoniously dump them on the floor. If you can lift her up by the scruff of the neck, that should help get the message across, since that's how a mother cat will pick up her kittens.

You may have to do some experimenting, though. Cats have different personalities, just like humans.
