It's a she actually. I thought she'd really dig it since she'd be totally into the overall theme of the game. But alas! The Japanese language is stopping her from installing it. I've already sent her all the files too. All that she needs is the Japanese language pack, (which she refuses to install).
I don't get what the big deal is. She can just tag the little square in the Language panel and windows will install it all by itself. Most of the time, it doesn't even require any downloading or special files (exceptions being older windows versions). But even if it DOES, it's still automated. Did you ever think that maybe she just doesn't want this game?
Anyway, it's probable that even if there is an english version ALL the requirements to play will remain. Specially so because there's certainly going to be at least one untranslated character lost in some sort of spaghetti code somewhere.
If she doesn't want to do it, she doesn't want to do it. Don't push it, let it go, not like it's important.
It's very unlikely that we'll ever have a complete translation, I'd go as far as doubting that a BIG partial (like over 50%) translation would ever show up. And, again, all of the game's requirements would HAVE to remain (meaning, if it needs japanese locale/fonts right now, it'll still need those later and so your crazy friend still will deny the glory of her hard drive to it).
