Re: MediaFire becoming strict?

Has this affected any of the makers of games that use mediafire to upload it.
There are a few creators that I know of who use mediafire as a way to get their game out their, and I'm wondering if that will effect them.
They shouldn't be able to password-protect their archives nor make any simple split archives. They'd have to take the extra steps people are taking.

But free games tend to have only one part (only a few exceptions I can think of) and password-protecting is not that usual (except maybe some tight communities, but not all that common either).

Or you could just torrent the damn files using or
I like torrents, but people tend to download and leave, they ditch without seeding.

I always seed 100% back the content I download, though some are generous and seed back 150% or more, but too many people are rather stingy fuckers.

I'm sticking with torrents. I have 43 torrents up on Nyaa and every single one of them is still alive. The earliest one was posted roughly 2 1/2 months ago.

Love'em or hate'em, torrents are still the best way to go.

Seeding and lack of seeds always sucks, but its (one of) the most stable way of keeping the content up.

still saddened that Demonoid is still down, was one of the best torrenting sites around and they always took care of troublesome virus peer files (or damn near had a 99.999% no bad files deal)

Re: MediaFire becoming strict?

hey,

how about use a "box" "key" model to upload them on MF ?

everytime you have a game for example you split them into one "big file"(box) and one very "smal file"(key) .......

the box file you upload on MF and the key file is very smal so you can use this forum for example and you dont need a PW becouse they cant unzip them without key file .......

/edit the only difficulty there is to find a usefulll naming system ....

How would this work, exactly?

I think most ways of splitting files result in the downloads being blocked (the only exceptions I can think of is 7zip and Hjsplit, and I don't think they'll remain "safe" too long), as does password-encrypting.

Other than the automatic removal, everything else is irrelevant. Pretty much any host will delete copyright infringing files upon request (it's stupid of them not to, even if it's a fake request, as that could bring a lot of legal troubles).

I'm certain any way to bypass the new restrictions that gets used a lot will be blocked. Eventually. It's just a matter of how long does it take them to include such and such in their algorithm.

Something else they autodelete for:
Uploading more than a few gigs in a 24 hour period.

I got my first ever suspension there when I uploaded about 5gb of Miss Wet T UK contest vidoes. There is no way on Earth those were DMCAed, because I hadn't even shared the links yet. File name was nondescript, I had pre-split the files myself(I didn't rely on MF splitting for me). And it was a custom file, so no chance of MD5, since I created them.

Someone told me Hulkshare doesn't delete for inactivity. Though I have no idea how good/bad it is for downloaders. Toucansharing, Depositfiles and Crocko are what I'm using now. None of my stuff has been deleted since November on any of them.

As far as what I can understand about their terms of service (I might have misread something), adult content is accepted as long as it's not illegal.

Obscene and illegal mean the same thing as far as US law on porn goes. And all of the girls we post here are totally 18+, so no worries about the minor thing ;)

Yeah, I should really re-up those contests. I'll have them up in a day or two :)

@rxworld & AceofWind,

Thanks for the replies. Looks like it should be safe for me to try them out - as a free user initially anyway.

Scratch what I said above, you can post adult content on uploading.com.
Hello,

You're able to upload any files that do not break the law and copyright.
These could be your personal files or the ones you use at work.

With Best Regards,

Megaupload is back in another form!

Although it is currently unreachable. Probably because of all the attention it is getting and it can't handle all that traffic.

Don't use .7z archive anymore on MediaFire, they are blocking them with this message:

The file you attempted to download is an archive that is damaged or possibly encrypted. MediaFire does not support unlimited downloads of broken or encrypted archives and the limit for this file has been reached. This file may only be distributed from a premium account.
