Re: Unforbidden (platformer)
- While I didn't find the starting jumping tutorial too hard or long per say, I did find it too punishing. [...]
Am I the only one who really outright hates the jumping on ledges part? I can't even get to see an enemy because the character accelerates too fast, and climbing up ledges is too slow. And it's easy to fall down and have to start the whole process of climbing again.
Yep, If you skim over some of the past replies, nearly everyone disliked that part
I'm working on making it more enjoyable and less punishing - some shooting, far less use of the climbing animation, one or two floors to catch failed jumps and more explicit hints (like pointing out that the 'up' key can be held and doesn't require timing, I suspect that might have been a problem in many cases).
@Lila M-3210, you can skip the jumping section by using the 'Load' button in the menu. It puts you where you'd be after making it all the way up.
- While the character model is fine at normal gameplay distance, the "face-zoom" image is considerably less appealing
Heh, I have to say that I kinda liked that one myself
That makes it slightly difficult for me to find something others would like, but I guess I could download Daz3D, try a few variations and make a poll.
If you want to give it a try yourself, that would be fantastic. I don't want to earn money off of unpaid work, so if it's good, people like it and it includes a few emotions (normal, annoyed, scared, surprised, aroused) I'd offer at least a token of appreciation, say $25 via PayPal or a Steam gift up to that value if you prefer.
- The biggest reason why so many games like these (H games in particular) are abandonned is because they are too ambitious.[...]
That is good advice.
I don't stand above those things, obviously, but I've been around long enough to learn a few of the lessons. If there's one skill a creator really needs, then it's running against a brick wall again and again until something gives.
The point where fun becomes real work passed by somewhere around 4 months ago and I've been careful not to accept anything that would change the scope of the project.
One question for you Zikare, are you planning to make the clothes changed to what they were in your sizing screenshot? The pink bra strap was far more appealing then the dull grey.
That's her bra showing with the original color. I thought sexy red underwear was a bit inappropriate for a mercenary mission (but maybe so is her skimpy clothing).
Personally, I like it in black or gray, but red or pink would of course be possible, too. Maybe it's time to install some poll plugin on my blog to get feedback on matters of taste
