that can work if there is pregnancy risk though. Is it something that happens randomly, and how is it advanced if it does?

ETA: Thanks for taking the time to answer by the way. :)

@saladboy21: umm, it seems to happen randomly. Not all unprotected sex leads to pregnancy. And when you're told she's become pregnant it's a bit of a surprise. It can happen with human and monster partners. I'm pretty sure you get both terminated rather than delivering.

I'd say give it a try.

Weird, have played wolf games before but, the sound in this one doesn't seem to be working, or does it just have no sound?

A teaser on what I've done so far,

The prologue,

The in-game menu,

The in-battle menu,

When I was testing the battle, I discovered one amusing fact - the "MP" bar. If you decrease the enemy's (via the 'Sensual Skills' as shown above) to zero, they are unable to move. They just stand there doing nothing, enabling me to just use normal attacks to finish them.

As for when I'll start releasing translations, it depends. At the very least, I'd like to get the prologue completely finished before pushing anything out and the game's scripts are not what I'm used to. Not to mention how long the prologue is ...

Sorry, but I just noticed your post. You've got a SERIOUS problem. One of the biggest highlights of this game is the voice-acting during the H-scenes. You are missing A LOT. Unfortunately, I've no idea how to solve your issue...

@myrubbish2001: that looks great! It must be pretty fun to see your translated words come out on screen. It's pretty neat to see the UI in English. I can see how much easier Japanese have it in playing these games: one glance at the screen and they see all the options.

Which brings up another point. Regarding releases, would you consider translating the majority of the items and spells? Maybe not even the descriptions, but just the names in the various lists would be a huge help. In battle, I'm forever looking up what the terms mean. Mostly I have them memorized now, but sometimes I choose the wrong thing just because I was too lazy to double-check.

It'd be cool if the battle comments were translated too. In my set up, those floating comments disappear too fast to catch what they say, and mostly they're in the middle of spammed numbers and such. I imagine if they where readable, understanding of battles would triple.

So, I'm surprised by how much progress you've made. Keep up the good work, and thanks! I'll probably play this game again once there's a release, so I'm looking forward to it.

@ConfusedRagerMan: since the sound files are contained in Data.wolf, it can't be a simple matter of the filenames getting messed up like what happens with RPG maker games. I'd redownload it (from another source) and see if you get sound that way. Or, maybe your speakers are turned down?

This ... might actually be a bit easier to translate than the dialogs, as all I need to do is look up words. The general context is pretty self-explanatory anyway.

Could you upload a save file of the game and tell me what to do to initiate a battle sequence? I can then use that as a reference to translate the spells and items.

Yep, there you go. It's pretty close to the end of the game, so I think I've got most of the skills. All you do is run into those roaming guys (who will chase you if they see you).

The fight might be pretty tricky though, if you're not accustomed to fighting things. First you should try to subdue them all with sex skill/スク水の魔力. And then probably another group skill. And then just individual acts from there. Once they don't have any mental energy left, they're harmless, like you discovered before.

What you got so far looks great! Were you still confused about what happens during the prologue with the explanation of the crystals?

Restarting my comp worked apparently.

Yep, there you go.
Thanks for the file, but it looks like we've got a problem. My translation fixes seem to break the save system. I even checked out the other save file posted on the first page of this thread. Both the save files can't be read. Pity. :(

@chiakisan,
Umm... lets just say that I've worked around that issue. You'll see what I've got when I finally post up something.

@ConfusedRagerMan,
Good to know!

Have you made sure you can load your own save games? It's OK if the old saves aren't compatible, but it would suck if just saving is leading to corrupted saves. Better check on right away.

But, I guess I won't be trying to get 100% scene entries on the version I'm playing.

Oh, another thing you could try out is to keep a save of where you are now, and then translate a bit more and see if you can still load that save. It's possible that you may make saves unreadable as you go along. So, check that too, I guess. I'm probably going to start playing another game, but I'll look forward to playing through the first release.

None of the other outfits will beat nude in stats. You might need to grind a bit. I remembered having a bit of a problem with the moth mobs until I got a group hit H-attack. (Swimsuit boob slip, was it?)
But here's the quests with outfits. 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 14, 16. If you've cleared the dungeons before the pyramid, you should be able to get them all. Just choose the top option with quest people.
Take a look at Etigoya's save again - he has all the outfits maxed out, at least the nun outfit's stats are far superior to the nude outfit. That said, thanks very much for the information. Where are the quest people? I've just been running through dungeons until I beat the boss and got the orb.

Do you ever actually level your character? Frankly, I've killed a bunch of enemies and I've never noticed an increase in strength; in fact, I'm at the last dungeon right now and if I de-quip everything I have, I can't even beat the monsters in the first dungeon. I feel like I'm missing something.

You upgrade your level in the same way you upgrade your clothes. That's via using the purple guy option from the menu (the one between equipment and save). The top option is to increase your level. The second is to upgrade the clothes you're currently wearing. There may be other options, but they're the two you mostly use.

Hrm she terminates her pregnancies? That's disappointing.

Still, thank you much for the information, tryguy. Repped you.

Its kind-of a hit or miss situation at the moment. I'm guessing it's because the battle dialogs are part of the system database and when I change the values there, other things get affected.

So far, my own saves seem to be working, but I'm half-expecting that to break as I translate more. Hopefully, it won't really be that bad.

Re: [WolfRPG] Inran Yuusha Save no RPG ~ Sekai wo Sukuu Ecchi-na Bouken

I am now really REALLY frustrated! There is a menu option called "Configuation" which lets you adjust the music volume, Sefi's picture .. etc. After hours of searching through the Japanese scripts, I FINALLY found the location where that text is stored. Changing it to english was a simple matter. The problem is that when I ran the game, the modifications weren't reflected!

On a hunch, I deleted my save folder and started a new game. To my absolute HORROR a brand new error message popped up mid-way through the prologue. I would have never seen it, if I hadn't started a new game! And sadly, my hunch was right - after starting the new game, ONLY then did I see the "translations" I had made. Which means that some of this stuff is embedded into the damn save file!@#@!!!

Some more digging and I came across something else. I can't confirm it, but I very much suspect that the game was built using WolfRPG editor version 2.01. And here, I'm translating it with ver2.02a !! If nothing else, now I need to get all the different versions of WolfRPG editor and see what fits with the game scripts. (sarcasm ON) Just Great. All my earlier efforts went down the toilet. (sarcasm OFF)

In the meantime, I would be VERY grateful if someone who knows Japanese would tell me what the following dialog says,
It always pops up when I start the editor.

Believe it or not, I've actually got the Japanese version of Windows XP installed in VirtualBox to try debugging this issue. The lengths I go to make a good translation ...
