Re: MaiDenSnow Eve

do you mean in the tutorial?

press S select quickswap, then press X use Q or W to scroll sideways, equip the gun, hold Q to aim, aim at the bunny, then attack.

also, how does saving even work?

the "quill option" at the top of the menu doesn't seem to do it.

as far as i can tell, it only Hardsaves when you go back to the house after dying, everything else seems to be autosave.

ah thanks

ok this in hopeless when ever i try to equip the gun the fucking damn wolf jumps on rabbit and it wont let me attack the fucking rabbit can someone upload few pics on how to equip the damn gun and kill the damn rabbit please?

Re: MaiDenSnow Eve

How do you find the chapel. I manage to find the graveyard rail but I can't find the chapel.
Another user showed the way:

Snowfield - Railway - Underground river - City(Once in city, head towards caves with chapel as final destination).

Re: MaiDenSnow Eve

Actually, it also turns out you can just go Snowfield -> City, but that's kinda hard to do straight off the bat.

And a mini-mini review. On the plus side, the game is a decent game. It does hold it's own as a roguelike, or more acurately a Shiren-like (the Mystery Dungeon games). You've got random loot, a decent variety of weapons, and a good variety of enemies. You also have animated hentai, which is nice, and the keeping track of the enemies that screw you etc is a nice touch.

On the minus side: there really isn't that much hentai for a hentai game. In the initial release version there is a grand total of one hentai event - this will eventually be boosted up to 4 (I believe). There is hentai in the game itself, but realistically there's not more than 20 or so animations (although they can be overlaid on top of each other), and most of them are with generic black formless monsters. You will probably see these animations a lot. Finally, even with the author provided Engrish mod, you probably do need to have some Japanese knowledge or use a text hooker to get the most out of this game.

To summarise: If you like a little hentai mixed in with a pretty decent roguelike, this is a good game for you. If you're after a game with a lot of hentai and stuff, it might be best to look elsewhere.

You're probably the only user on this thread who's anywhere close to finishing the game, so how much of the storyline did you manage to play through before giving the above review? Are the 4 other bosses other than the Wild Hunt just as tough to fight?

Re: MaiDenSnow Eve

Just downloaded the game from the english DLsite.
It doesn't crash like before, so this is turning out to be a good and challenging game.

My notes:
- Save often. I actually have the save folder open to copy and save the save file since the game will autosave when you do not want it to do so.
- In fights, position yourself to limit the number of mobs that can attack you.
- Rapier seems to be the best melee weapon.
- Automatic seems to be the best ranged. Make sure to buy ammo when you get the chance. Shotgun ammo is awesome for large groups of mobs.

I am actually digging this game for it's difficulty. Do wish there were more H-content, but for the price, I'm not complaining.

Er, I'm not, actually. Heck, I've not even fought the Wild Hunt in the full version - although I've got no reason to doubt it'll be any different to the demo. In any case, the Wild Hunt is not that hard if you prepare beforehand. Try to find a confusion scroll and a confusion staff. Once he summons his hunters and gives them the ATK buff, use the confusion scroll and watch them massacre each other. After the hunters are mostly dead, just use the confusion staff to keep the hunt master confused so he won't attack you (as hitting him doesn't end confusion, so each charge from the staff is about 10 attacks), and the fight will be over quickly. I expect that the other bosses will have similar strategies available.

And to answer the original question of how far I am: Once you get to the cathedral you'll be seeing a lot of "event not implemented" messages. So I figured I'd put the game on hold until those events do get implemented. If I do play, I'm just messing around trying to get better equipment.

Also: Rapier is good, but has low durability. I found that one of the pairs of daggers (forgotten which one exactly) does more damage and has more durability, although it lacks the step-in attack of the rapier. Also note that the best clothes appeat to be the srandard nun outfit, because it comes with a stat boosting effect (Piety Vow) which the others lack.

Re: MaiDenSnow Eve

I'm using Jade dagger here. It inflicts poison to enemy without needed of essence and it does quite a damage for that. If you want things to be easy just keep lots of scroll of punishment. XD

hold S, use Quickswap BEFORE you try swapping your weapon.

the wolf kills the rabbit on its next turn, so you have to swap weapon, aim and fire in a single move.

quickswap lets you equip a new weapon without using up your turn. (it just adds a status effect, it doesn't actually equip anything itself, you have to do that manually)

also, thats a tutorial, you can just ignore it.

Nice, this works just fine.
I'm level 40 now, and I have more then enough money with me now.
It's less frustrating when I have 15 Heal Potions with me.

The instructions inside the readmile file are clear and understandable.

Thanks ModEater.

Re: MaiDenSnow Eve

Well, 8-9 hours later and I think I've compiled a full map of the world.

Hopefully that'll help some people navigate around. It's not easy getting from place to place. Expect to spend at least 8 levels in the field before you reach the next checkpoint, and that's if you're hitting every correct door. Good luck for your spelunking.

Oh, and I'd avoid the Hollow Tree if I were you. There's nothing of value there yet (a memoir that can't be obtained), and seeing how there is no repair station there, it's honestly an incredible challenge to get there and back to an actual decent place to rest. The only things in my stash were extra un-upgraded clothes and essences.

Er, I'm not, actually....
I hear ya. It's a shame that the released game has so many bugs, and if you can't register for a dlsite account (which I can't) you're forced to pay for the game again in order to get an update, at least to the extent of my knowledge.

I've also yet to find any of the other bosses... so looks like we're stuck hoping our saves will transfer properly to the patched version.

About the thing of weapons: The rapier is the only dual wielding weapon I've found that deals piercing damage, not slashing. A lot more enemies take extra damage from slashing attacks, so that might be why the daggers seem to be more powerful. At least every other dual-wield melee weapon I've seen is less powerful than my rapier, but that might be because it's at +9. Who knows.

That's a job well done, it'll help a lot when I summon up the time to brave the terrors of the open field again.

That's correct, lots of enemies are weak to slashing damage so the longsword or double-handed claymore are occasionally needed for a quickswap. As mentioned previously, enemies immune to physical damage entirely need holy water and its enchant weapon ability to properly finish off.

I still think the wyvern/dragon is one of the hardest enemies, resistant to melee attacks and damned dangerous even against its weakness of bullets.

Re: MaiDenSnow Eve

Does upgrading the stocking grant any bonus like other cloth pieces? It doesn't show anything to it when I look at it, but when you want to put it on it shows that it improves some of your stats.

Does anyone know about this something?

Or an elemental enchantment works fine. Incidentally, I looked up the weapon I'm using: Spark Sword Breaker+6. Not a powerful weapon, but it debuffs attack and doesn't break easily - and the elemental enchantment means it does kill everything.

I'm pretty certain that it doesn't give bonus stats.

Question for the veterans here: Do the enemies level up along with the PC or is it possible to grind for XP and items in easier areas without risking being deflowered?

Re: MaiDenSnow Eve

Certainly possible. In fact, if you play cautiously, you shouldn't really need to do level grinding until at least the Chapel.

One thing to note though is extremely diminishing returns though. Also, simple fact is that a lot of your power in this game comes from equipment, not character level. Hence the best way to gain power is to go spelunking for the green scrolls/essences/equipment with lots of sockets, as these are the things you need to make really powerful gear (green scrolls add +'s to equipment, essences aff an effect, equipment with lots of sockets can handle lots of essences).

Out of interest, would anyone here be interested in me packaging up my save manager? It's just a little script that lets you manage saves in the game, and is marginally easier than doing lots of copy/pastes.

Re: MaiDenSnow Eve

Is there any way of maintaining durability on equipment for as long as possible aside from using the full-repair scrolls? Does the dwarf in his workshop have an option to raise maximum durability of equipment/weapons?

Re: MaiDenSnow Eve

Not to my knowledge (in fact, if I remember right having the dwarf upgrade an item lowers its durability). The best way to maintain a certain weapon would be to swap it before it breaks completely. To that end, you'll want to have 2 good weapons.

It is worth noting that the material of the item effects how long it lasts. For example, a Rapier will lose durability faster than a Sword Breaker.
