RESULTS
Unanimous A

The duo glanced at each other, each reaching the same decision instantly. They started toward the commotion, and soon a strange scene came into sight.

Eight men surrounded a woman on the road. Several of the men were obviously weakened, clutching arms or stomachs. The woman had her hands tied, and a small trickle of blood was visible even from this distance, running down from her temple. Still, she glared up at the apparent leader of the men, defiance written over her face. The girl was an odd one. From her hips downward, she had the body of a snake. Sera had never seen something like this before, but apparently Litu had. "Ah. A Lamia. I can't see what tribe she's from. They usually don't come this far east."

The men looked toward Sera and Litu, smiling in an unpleasant way. "What's going on?" Sera asked nonchalantly, her hands settling on the hilts of her swords. She looked at each man in turn, noting with some distaste that most of them were watching her breasts more than her swords. She stretched her back slightly, pushing her chest out, and noted with more disgust that that particular action had made every one of them look. The leader stepped forward, and Sera put a hand in front of her breasts pointing up at her face. The leader looked up, not even having the grace to look embarrassed.

"It's nothing for you ladies to worry about."

"Strangely, that statement makes me worry more. Wait. I know you. You're one of the hunters who would come to the village to sell pelts."

The man cracked a smile, revealing yellowed teeth. "Aye, that's right. 'Course, when we went down there today, they were all dead. So this lovely young lady offered to help us make back some of the money lost today."

Sera glared daggers at the man. "Have a care. That's my family you're talking about, you syphilitic horse's rectum, and they deserve better than to have you sully their name." She brushed past the man, who gaped at her, and walked over to the lamia. Litu followed closely. The men were making her feel uncomfortable as well.

The lamia held her head up proudly as Sera approached. "Are you going to try to control me as well? Or maybe you're here to tell me I'm an abomination."

"Well, I wasn't planning on it. How'd you get captured by these chowderheads, anyway?"

The lamia grimaced. "They ambushed me. Managed to hit me with some sort of sedative. I woke up about 5 minutes ago. They just got done subduing me again. Travelling through the human lands has been such trouble."

"They're not terrible once you get to know them. Or maybe I just got lucky. Hey, you! Let the girl go."

The leader of the hunters smirked at Sera. "I don't think so. She's worth a lot to the right people. Some freaks really like the snake look, I guess. Me, I personally like my women with a warm snatch waiting for me. How's this for a counter offer. You lay down with me, and I won't take offense to your insulting tone earlier."

"When I laugh in your face, do you think you'll be upset? Oi, snake-girl. Can you fight?"

The lamia rattled her tail, smiling hungrily. "Give me a weapon."

"Can you get free?"

The men started drawing crude looking weapons, grinning maliciously as they closed the circle. The lamia's tail curved around and wrapped around the ropes around her wrists. She grunted, and the ropes snapped, freeing her hands. Sera drew a sword and flipped it around, handing it to the girl without looking at her.

"I love it when they come to me to die. Make it interesting for me, boys!"

AUTHOR'S NOTES:
No lore this time. When the battle's over, I'll write something up about dragonborn. This fight is pisseasy. These chucklefucks can't even hit any of our party members unless they crit. Which is monumentally unlikely. Or if I decide that they attempt to grapple, which should be hilarious.
You may have noticed that I changed AC to PD. This is because I'm changing how defense works. Now we have Passive Defense and Active Defense. Passive Defense is not rolled, and uses your speed stat to determine how likely you are to dodge. Currently, for every increase of 2 speed, you gain +5 PD. If you have a really low speed (which none of us do), then it may behoove you to roll to dodge rather than relying on your PD. (If we get any slow characters, I will be doing so for them.) Active Defense adds the relevant stat to your roll. Once we get further along in levels, we'll be facing enemies with bonuses close to our own. The soft cap is 30 for each stat. The hard cap is 150 (and if this lasts long enough, we'll be facing enemies with even more than that.), which means you can only gain (through spells or other bonuses) a 5x bonus on the soft cap. When it becomes relevant, I'll talk about how the stats relate to each other, and how that affects things. But that's for later.

The lamia switched the sword to her left hand and surged forward, driving it into one of the bandits. She tensed and recoiled quickly, as the bandit crumpled behind her. The other bandits backed away from her slightly, not wanting to face an opponent who could kill them instantly like that.

Litu dropped into a liquid form and surged toward the outside of the circle, trying to get to a more advantageous position. The bandits she passed between both attempted to attack her, but both missed. Litu reformed about 10 feet away from the circle, and prepared herself to begin casting.

Sera turned the blade in her hand, grinning at the bandit leader. She lunged forward feinting a downward strike, then flicking the blade out and across the bandit's stomach. He shouted in pain, stumbling back as blood sprayed from the wound. "Tch. I had hoped to get your guts with that. Oh well. Next time, eh?" Sera said, grinning cheekily at the bandit leader, who roared in response and swung his axe.

Sera moved back quickly, and the axe slammed into the ground at her feet. She smirked at the leader, who quickly recoiled before she could get her sword into him. He glared at her, readying himself for round two.

Bandit 2 lifted his spear and lunged at the lamia, who twisted gracefully and pushed the spearhead aside easily. She moved like a dancer as she dodged the attack, pulling her "partner" through on his attack and sending him stumbling toward the other side of the circle.

Bandit 3 turned away from Sera and the Lamia, focusing instead on Litu. He raised his machete, and leapt forward, swinging down at the spirit. Litu twisted and flowed out of the way, moving past the bandit as she did so. The bandit turned, but Litu was already out of range.

Bandit 4 swung a chain idly, watching Sera's movements. With a shout, he lunged forward, swinging the chain at Sera's knees. Sera flapped her wings once and flipped over the bandit's head, landing gently behind him, just out of his chain's range.

Bandit 5 charged forward and leapt onto the lamia's back. She twisted with the impact, and threw the bandit down to the ground, where he rolled for about 6 feet, then stumbled to his feet. The lamia shook her head at him and stuck her tongue out, though not to its full length.

Bandit 6 whirled a pair of bolas over his head, then swept his arm down and around, throwing the weapon at Sera's knees. She swept her sword down and around, catching the string of the bolas with the flat of her sword. The weights whirled around her blade, then clattered to a stop. She pulled her blade free of the entanglement, and the weights fell freely to the ground.

Bandit 7 turned away from the circle and attempted to grab Litu's arm. As his grip closed, Litu's arm turned to water and slipped through his fingers. Litu moved back away from him, shaking her head in mock disappointment.

Sera: A

The lamia twisted and swung her sword at Bandit 5, catching him across the face with the very tip of the sword. The bandit turned with the attack, crying out as the blood started to flow, but he wasn't very injured by the shallow attack. The lamia grunted in distaste. Her own weapons were longer than this one, but beggars couldn't be choosers. Made it more difficult to get a good slash, though.

Litu raised one hand toward the bandit leader and began chanting a spell. She swirled her hand, then balled it into a fist. The leader cried out as the spell washed over him, the cry gurgling drily into a croak. He collapsed backward, flesh desiccated and dry. Litu shuddered slightly as the lust she had used for her attack washed back into her.

Sera frowned as her opponent collapsed drily. She turned toward the bandit the lamia had just attacked, and drove her sword through his chest from behind in one swift movement. She snapped the sword out of him, cutting him nearly in two and inadvertently spraying blood on the lamia. She didn't seem to mind, though.

Bandit 2 lunged at Sera with his spear. Sera batted it aside easily, laughing as the bandit stumbled past her. "Too easy!"

Bandit 3 raised his machete again, and lunged toward Litu, who flowed out of his way easily as the attack came down. For the second time in as many rounds, the bandit stumbled forward as his attack missed. Litu smiled gently at the hapless bandit, circling around the circle (not that it was much of one, anymore) slightly.

Bandit 4 twirled his chain again, this time striking high toward Sera's face. Sera leaned back quickly, the chain passing very close by her head. She took two quick steps back, readying herself for the next attack.

Bandit 6 circled around, then leapt forward, attempting to put Sera into a hold. Sera caught his wrist and pulled him past her, whipping him away. The man stumbled a few times, then set himself up facing the two reptile-women, ready for the next attack.

Bandit 7 ran up and leapt onto the lamia's back, locking his arms around her neck. She bowed over backward, surprised by the attack, and the bandit twisted his hips and threw the lamia to the ground. She lay there dazed, as the bandit locked her arm and tried to pin her. The lamia barely managed to twist out of the pin, but her arm was still locked and she couldn't move much.

AUTHOR NOTES
Poor lamia got a Nat 1 on her defense roll. Nat 1 is always instant failure, unless both attacker and defender roll a natural 1 (which is fairly unlikely; a 1 in 400 chance), in which case the one with the lowest bonus fails. Likewise, a Nat 20 is always an instant success, unless (again) both attacker and defender get a Nat 20, in which case the one with the bigger bonus wins. This has been your pointless mechanics discussion for today.

Also, I just realized I forgot to add in the spoils from the goblin treasure. We're going to have to deal with some of these items eventually.

The lamia snarled and snapped her tail around, swinging the very end of it at the head of Bandit 7. The bandit managed to duck, avoiding the strike, then put his foot under the lamia's hips and twisted the lamia's arm harshly, making her cry out in pain as her shoulder was wrenched almost to the breaking point. Her tail lashed, but because of the angle of her hips, she couldn't get it up high enough to hit the bandit. She snarled in impotent rage, trying to struggle out while also trying not to break her own shoulder.

Litu waved her hand at the machete-wielding bandit who had been attacking her. She concentrated for a moment, then clenched her hand into a fist. The bandit screamed in pain as the water left his body, petering out into a dry moan. He swayed on his feet for a moment, then collapsed in a puff of dust. Litu bit her lip as the spell poured back into her.

Sera turned, hearing the sounds of distress behind her. She scoffed, then lunged forward, plunging her sword through the bandit's chest. She reached out to keep him from collapsing sideways and wrenching the lamia's arm, then pulled her blade out sideways. She wrapped her sword arm around the corpse's waist, and with her free arm, crushed his wrist and broke his fingers, pulling his hand off the lamia's wrist. The lamia groaned slightly as she lowered her arm gently to the ground. "Thanks," the lamia said, starting to push herself back up. Sera nodded in response, dumping the bandit to the side, though doing do put her slightly off balance.

Bandit 2 took advantage of Sera's lack of balance and lunged forward, driving his spear toward her back. Sera managed barely to turn out of the way of the attack, though her dodge put her even further off balance.

Bandit 4 lunged forward, whipping his chain low again. Sera dropped back, lifting her legs over the chain and rolling backward, pushing off with her hands to avoid rolling over her wings. She got slightly tangled in her cloak as she did so, but managed to free herself without incident.

Bandit 6 caught Sera's arm as she popped up from her roll, then twisted and threw her over. Her breath rushed out as she hit the ground, leaving her slightly winded. Like the lamia before her, she managed to get out from being pinned, but could not get her arm free before the bandit locked her shoulder. She grunted in pain as the bandit twisted his heel into the skin of her wing, putting the other foot between her wings.

SNAP DECISION

The lamia looked between the two enemies not currently occupied. "You got that covered, dragon?" she called over her shoulder, before turning and lunging toward Bandit 2. She twisted her wrist and slashed across the bandit's chest. She was once again a little under the necessary range needed to cut the bandit in half, and only succeeded in drawing a thin line of blood across his chest.

Litu focused her mind on the enemy that the lamia had not attacked. She reached out her hand toward him, then clenched a fist, drawing it toward herself. The man cried out as all water in his body evaporated, pouring out of his open orifices like steam. He crumpled, leaving a desiccated corpse behind. Litu barely managed to contain a moan as the lust poured into her mind, following familiar passage ways.

Sera twisted her hips and caught her foot behind her attacker's knee. With a grunt of effort, she flapped the wing he was standing on while pulling his knee out, sending him collapsing to the ground. There was a bit of a mistake, though. She had expected the man to let her arm go as he fell. He did not, and the result was a sickening pop as her shoulder left its socket. Sera cried out in pain, and her maneuver failed. The man was on the ground, but she was not pinning him. At least he had let go of her arm when he hit the ground. She rolled onto her back and backed away from him, holding her arm painfully.

Bandit 2 dropped his spear and drew a long knife. He lunged forward, sweeping the knife down toward the lamia, who twisted out of the way of the attack, trying not to look back toward Sera as she cried out in pain.

The bandit struggled to his feet, advancing on Sera with a strange glint in his eye. He lunged forward, and Sera put her feet up. He fell heavily on them, reaching for Sera's breasts. He got a fingertip just barely brushed against her makeshift bra before Sera thrust her hips down and her feet out, throwing the man back almost 20 feet. She rolled onto her toes, bracing herself wrong-handed. She pushed to her feet, swaying slightly as her shoulder protested.
