Re: [RJ118491] Monster Alchemist

Well, I officially love this game enough to write some sort of a guide for it. Hey etigoya, did you make a FAQ/walkthrough for this game yet? Just wondering so I don't waste my time if you did.

Re: [RJ118491] Monster Alchemist

Anyone know where to obtain these ingredients? All optional (purple) bosses have been defeated, and I can't progress pass the 6th floor in the tower. I can't seem to progress story without these.

Edit:
I think the second picture matches above request.
after killed rich man can go new area, boss dragon drop
I'm not sure I follow. I just get normal ending, instead of fighting the lord of the manor. No new areas.

One download link is crushed, in second you need premium account. Can someone upload this game to other site? I am really interested to try it too :)

Re: [RJ118491] Monster Alchemist

Alrighty, Normal End get. Now for True End. Once I get it I'll set to work on a guide. Some questions:

1. How do you strengthen シャルロッテ (Charlotte, ghost) and シーズ (Shizu, ancient weapon)? I have them both at lv30+ and their stats are very low.
2. Where do I get 花の指輪 (flower ring) and 竜の真核 (dragon nucleus) for the last two homunculi/monster girls?
3. I assume the empty slots in Item Book are for lv4 and lv5 accessories. (lv1 is fragment, lv2 is orb, lv3 is sphere, etc.) Where do I get the recipes for those?

EDIT: Found 花の指輪. Area off to the side in Bergen Forest. That's what I get for brute-forcing the crossroads maze. Now progressing to True End.
EDIT2: HowtopowerupCharlotte = make Lacy. FFF STUPID FAIRY GETTING IN THE WAY OF TEA PARTY EVENT.
EDIT3: New question. What do any of Lacey's skills do...? ._.;
EDIT4: Found one of Shizu's weapons. Now I need to power her up one more time before she actually becomes useful...
EDIT5: Level 4 accessory recipes found in True End dungeon. For those interested, lv4 is bullion.

Re: [RJ118491] Monster Alchemist

Guide :

Recover only in hero's room
Purple color mob can hold untill enough power for it
If get book, use it can make new item
Some skill will make stagger > tumele (def down) > stun (def down + easy get critical), for exp cow 2nd skill will make stagger, 3rd for tumele (but mob not stagger no effect), 4rd for stun (but mob not tumele no effect), but some skill has 3 effect like robot holy skill...
West fairy shop - for change item
Use 切ないバラ can port to world map
Homunculus girl a lot has hscene in lvl 10, lvl 14 get new weapon, lvl 28 + 5 times power up has new weapon and hscene, but some girl is special, some need get event in other place or cant get lvl 28 weapon or hscene

Main town sometimes wil add item and book
For power up, choice is HP - MP - Luck - next page > Str - Int - next page > Def - Mdf - Spd. Some char didnt up any point when power up some status, for exp. Ddf a lot char cant up... better check power up or not after choice

SW ruin town (but for mummy girl only, can later come until enough power) :
ruin town north click door > SE house click ? (better dont fight to mob that pop later) > open door > big house see boss type mob, but better go west move out if not enough power > ruin town middle small house, kill purple color mob and open box > back to home make mummy girl

Tree area (not need pass hesitation area atm) :
west road, now can go NW > tree area, 1st area go west then west can get item make plant girl > tree area, go north then east near flower fairy.jpg can get item make fairy > tree area, keep go north to town, talk to soldier, woman in bar (all 1st choice) and aged in west house

Old hill road :
cave near broken bridge click ? get item make gargoyle girl and join her > hill road get cow to tree town woman, then she will sell item in main town > with gargoyle girl back to tree area can open box for book > hill near top has boss, kill it for road to capital

Capital & wilderness :
train to 1st area to magic school find heroine > train to 2nd area, talk to girl in middle (all 1st choice), then go west road, old hill road and wilderness loot 3 flower (3 golden item) to her, then she will sell item in main town > wilderness kill boss > home can make lamia girl and sleep has event > buy new book in town, has 1 book for holy water, need make 4 for later event holy water.jpg > capital, go magic school right side talk to teacher > back to home sleep and ghost girl join > join ghost girl in group > sleep has hscene > with ghost girl go hill road can get book

Ruin castle :
with ghost girl go wilderness east to ruin castle, road vs ghost horse > vs ghost in GF again > 1F vs ghost again > 2F set 4 holy water then fight to ghost > make 冥霊の誘い火 > feudal lord house > home > capital, magic school, talk to girl in counter

Re: [RJ118491] Monster Alchemist

Well, sh*t. Guess I'll just add what little I can.

Controls:
[Z] Interact / Confirm / Advance Text
[X] Open Menu / Cancel / Advance Text
[A] Open Backlog
[W] Close Text Window / Scroll Down
[Q] Scroll Up
[SHIFT] Run / Speed Up Combat / Skip Text
[<,^,>,v] Move / Select
In battle, the commands for everybody are:
- Act
- Item (Alchemists only)
- Standby
- Run Away
Stats:
最大HP - Max HP
最大AP - Max AP: Action Points are used for any action. Run out, and the unit is left helpless.
力 - Attack
防御 - Defense
魔力 - Magic Attack
魔法防御 - Magic Defense
敏捷 - Agility: determines how often the unit gets its turn and beginning turn order
運 - Luck: affects critical hit rate
Elements and Races:
Two categories of attacks: Physical and Magical
- Only physical attacks are affected by accuracy. Magical attacks never miss.
- All attacks can be critical hits.
- Enemies and allies cannot counter magical attacks.

Six elements (not including Neutrality) exist in this game: Fire > Wind > Earth > Water and Light <> Dark. Note that Water > Fire.
- Hitting a weakness increases damage to roughly 150%. Resistances reduce damage to roughly 75%.

Eight races also exist: Beast > Plant > Aquatic > Daemon > Spirit > Immortal and Human <> Evils. Note that Immortal > Beast.
- Race advantages are the same as elemental advantages. Later, Lynn's weapon upgrade boosts her racial advantage to 200% damage.
Homunculi / Monster Girls / Allies:
NOTE: At lv28 with 5 strengthening actions performed on them, units who possess special movement skills will gift you items that offer them so you don't have to bring the unit along any more. (ex. lv28 Anna w/ 5 strengthenings gives you "Mermaid's Love", which allows water travel)

= Lynn, the Minotaur =
- She joins by default in the beginning.
- Not much to say here. She's a single-target damage-dealer and your main stagger/tumble/stun ally. Later, her weapon gives her a racial damage boost, letting her rip Plant-type enemies to shreds. She also resists death later, being able to survive with 1HP sometimes.

= Mary, the Sheep =
- When your sheep goes missing, check the question mark and proceed to Galtea Highway to chase it down. Make her using the material left behind.
- Your first tank. Go ahead and level her up a bit until she gets the group defense buff. Her later weapons give her resistance to all elements and attracts enemy attacks. She also gets group stagger and group tumble skills. And she can heal herself.

= Elena, the Centauress =
- Beat the first boss and make her using the boss drop.
- She's fast, but suffers from a lack of AP. You won't feel it that much at first, but after she gets group-attack actions and elemental actions you will. She does get a nice critical rate boost though, and she remains one of your fastest allies.

= Anna, the Mermaid =
- Go to South Beach and talk to a man in the bar at the Seaside Village. Follow the shore east to Mermaid Cove, where you get a mermaid scale to make her.
- Your first healer. Also your introduction to special movement skills. Hers allows water travel. She's decent, and she can cure stagger/tumble/stun. Too bad she has to use magic to do any decent damage. And she doesn't get any weapon bonuses.

= Clark, the Kraken =
- Beat the Deep-Sea Cave's boss and make her using the boss drop.
- Your first multi-hit character. Like all multi-hitters, great for single-target damage and terrible against counterattackers. Her normal attack hits four to six times with weapon upgrades. IMO outclassed later by... pretty much every other physical attacker. Her weapon inflicts blindness later and makes her normal attack randomly hit all enemies.

= Adelia, the Alraune =
- In the first screen of Bergen Forest, head west and west at the crossroads for her material.
- IMO the best healer because she can actually deal awesome damage to boot. Her heals are over time as opposed to Anna's instant heals though, and she can't cure stagger/tumble/stun, so take your pick. Oh, and she deals physical damage in the form of random-target multi-hits or single-target drains instead of Anna's magical water bullets. Her normal attack hits thrice. Later weapons give her auto-HP regen and HP absorption on regular attacks.

= Lacey, the Fairy =
- In Bergen Forest, exit the Mountainside Village and go east to find the material you need to make her.
- I. Have. No. Clue. Her skill descriptions tell you nothing. NOTHING. Use at your own risk, your mileage may vary, yada yada yada...

= Franc, the Gargoyle =
- Climb the Old Mountain Path until you reach a broken suspension bridge and you'll find her material in the Gargoyle Cave nearby.
- IMO the best tank, but you don't have to believe me. She possesses the flight special movement skill, so you'll need her anyway. Might as well try her out. Her weapons give her physical and magical resistance later, and she has a cover skill that lets her take damage in allies' places.

= Nanaka, the Alchemist =
- Automatically joins you temporarily for Howmel Wilderness and the Forgotten Castle, then later permanently.
- I personally never saw the need for another Alchemist on the team unless you like spamming items. Her weapon passives are nice though, with collection bonuses and a damage boost.

= Amy, the Lamia =
- Beat the boss of Howmel Wilderness and make her using the boss drop.
- The debuffer of the game. Funny how late you get access to her. She does become fairly useful later, as her weapon renders her immune to debuffs herself.

= Charlotte, the Ghost =
- Joins after several encounters throughout the game.
- The single-target magical nuker. She gets access to every element except Light. Oh, and she has a special movement skill. Her improved weapon raises her evasion to 30, which sounds great and all, but really isn't since her HP blows.

= Saram, the Mummy =
- Beat the boss of the Abandoned Village and make her using the material in the chest the boss guards
- Another tank. She has group buffs for physical and magical defense, as well as auto-HP regen and magic resist on her weapons.

= Shock, the Arachne =
- Beat the Field Boss of Forest of Wonder and make her using the boss drop
- She fights using sword stances, and all of her actions shift her to/from a stance. Interesting fighting style, to be sure, but I prefer others. She isn't by any means bad though, so feel free to use her. Her weapons give her increased agility and critical hit rate. Oh, and her normal attack lowers enemy agility.

= Shizu, the Ancient Weapon =
- Buy the item from the Graunia merchant for 20000G, open the chest in the second room from the left on the second floor of your house, and bring one ゼレスフィア (Zere Sphere / Strengthener) to the room with the "doll" on the second floor of your house. Talk to her to activate her.
- Her upgrades are all unlocked very late in the game, so don't expect her to do much until then. That said, she is a very powerful multi-hitter. Her normal attack hits six times on a single target, may inflict stagger/tumble/stun, and she counters attacks sometimes. She also has powerful elemental skills (one of the only units who can use the Light element). Her weapons increase her own stun resistance as well.

= Reveried, the Demoness =
- Bring 10 血の宝玉 (Blood Gems) to the Tower, teleport underground, and give them to the machine; she joins upon returning to your home
- The multi-target magical nuker. Charlotte on steroids. Plus she gets access to every element. Her magical attack stat is off the charts. I don't know what her weapon passives do though... something about special racial effects? Oh, and did I mention she counterattacks physical attacks with a magical attack?

= Sheria, the Dragon =
- Her material is in a chest in your atelier after the volcano is unlocked.
- Extremely powerful physical attacker who tends to keep herself alive thanks to her HP absorption on attacks. She shares the same ability as most late-game bosses (the one where EXTEND flashes across the screen), being able to buff most of her stats in exchange for a large portion of her HP.

= Tamamo, the (Nine-Tailed) Fox =
- Defeat her on 10F of the Tower and she will join you.
- She starts at LV1, a heavy handicap considering how she undoubtedly curb-stomped you the first time you rushed into taking her on. However, take the time to level her up and she becomes a very viable healer and physical/magical nuker. In other words, she does pretty much everything except tank.
Weapon Passives:
+0 is default, +1 is after the first arms strengthening at LV14 for most girls, and +2 is after the second at LV28 for most girls. For special cases see etigoya's post above. +3 is after using their respective Writs of Heaven and Earth after some condition is fulfilled...

Double post to ask a question, sorry. How do you get the Writs of Heaven and Earth (天と地の書) to work...? So far I've only gotten Rick's to power him up.

Re: [RJ118491] Monster Alchemist

lvl 65 + all event clear
BTW Demon book in Bergen Enshuten (i use this char)
Minotaur possibly is power?
but Ancient Weapon not need follor event because i use old version before? new version possibly fixed
Found the Writ for Demoness in Bergen Enshuten. Re-ordered all the Writs so they now follow item listing order. I don't have Ancient Weapon at LV65+, so I can't test that one...

EDIT: Okay I give up. How the hell do you beat the Tower 12F boss? ._.
The first turn he wipes all of my party except for the protagonist, and the next he uses the dark ball magic attack that does 20000+ damage per hit. WTF.
EDIT2: Also, what are you supposed to do with the question mark outside of the lord's manor? All it talks about is a missing guard.

Does the gameplay in this get pretty good? I only played up to the first h-scene, which was extremely disappointing. I love the author's writing style though, just haven't had time to play more.

Re: [RJ118491] Monster Alchemist

IMO it starts off decent, then keeps getting better until you reach really late-game content. But once you finish the True End, the difficulty spikes ridiculously with regular mobs in the newly-unlocked dungeons wiping you out left and right until you figure out you need to get lv65 and use the Writs of Heaven and Earth to unlock a new tier of stats for your units. Even then, the game takes quite a bit of grinding to truly conquer all of the post-game content. At least, that was my experience. But overall, gameplay in this one was good.

That can't be the actual way to win... how did etigoya get the boss's first attack to heal his party? I can't find any mention of a way to make that work.

Re: [RJ118491] Monster Alchemist

I FOUND THE MAX LVL. It's 255. How did you get 9000+ magic attack on your Demoness... a lot of strengthening?

LV255 Rick Stats:
HP 130280 AP 2841
ATK|MATK | DEF|MDEF | AGI
4662|4582 | 1186|220 | 290

EDIT: Okay. I give up. Here's what I found out to help anybody else who wants to tackle final optional boss...
- Ignore the numbers you see on screen for DEF, MDEF, and AGI. They don't actually work the way you probably think they do.
- Equipping tier 5 DEF gems reduces damage from initial attack dramatically. (1 gem = 50%, 2 gems = 10%, 3 gem = -50%)
- Equipping tier 5 MDEF gems reduces damage from magic attacks similarly. (1 gem = 50%, 2 gems = 25%, 3 gems = 10%)
- You WILL NOT ACT BEFORE YOU DIE unless you have all of the following:
- a lot of HP (100k+ at the very least, strengthening is your best friend)
- an insanely high AGI stat (1000+ at least) OR a tier 5 AGI gem equipped (gives you one turn after a round of the boss's attacks)
- at least 1 tier 5 DEF OR MDEF gem equipped to mitigate damage from either of the boss's nukes (yes, it uses them again... over and over)
- if you equip Rick with the ring that gives a guaranteed turn at the start of battle, that's about the only time he will act barring AGI gems

You will probably want a tank. You can buff your party's defenses using Mummy or Sheep. Gargoyle's cover ability doesn't work very well unless you make her near immune to one type of attack. Then she'll act as an unbreakable wall against that type. Healers are also absolutely necessary I'm guessing. Personally I use Fox since she has a resurrect-all ability, which I presume is the last she learns (my Fox is lv156).
Your party should look something like: Rick | Tank | Healer | Most damaging unit you have
Is there a way to dispel EXTEND? Or am I just doing something wrong? Do I literally have to strengthen my units THAT much? Has ANYONE beaten that boss? ;A;
For reference, here's my party: Rick lv255 | Gargoyle lv160 | Fox lv156 | Demoness lv173

Re: [RJ118491] Monster Alchemist

assuming that i didnt get this game completely (even after getting the true end) heres some questions :

1. can you recover AP during battle? if you can, what item did you use?

2. is there limits to enhance your girls?

3. when i enhance the gargoyle gal i checked her weapon and it was gone. is this always happens when you enhance girls level 28 and above?

1. Yes. Check the list of items you can make; only one of them has "AP" in the description. Mermaid also has a 6AP action (second in her list) that recovers AP by 6 for another ally.
2. If there is, I haven't hit it. And I've strengthened them a LOT.
3. I have no clue. Bug?
