Progress on the game has been very slow this past month.
A friend of mine is writing a book and wanted me to edit it.
I should be finished with that this week.
Then I'll finally get back to work on Renfield.

Yeah, I know, it's a common problem with raytraced models. I just really like seeing a woman's breasts hang when in doggy style.

Yeah, I know, it's a common problem with raytraced models. I just really like seeing a woman's breasts hang when in doggy style.
Yeah this is an early sample.
I've since become better about making boobs hang or swing.
But I don't want to go back and redo all of them.
So in some of them there will be gravity/physics, in others there won't be.

Just pretend that this is mid-thrust and it caused them to swing forward and flatten in the process.

Good facial expression are key to making a good HCG



Wide eyes, gritted teeth, angry glaring, panting for breath etc.
Conveying the complex mix of emotions and physical feedback on her face is important.

DAZ makes facial animation & posing pretty simple.
I made 5 "core" expressions and then vary them:



It makes things much faster by saving/loading the faces
then randomly opening or closing the eyes and mouths.

Each of the 5 main girls will have 30 scenes each.
When I implement the other NPCs they will probably just have 1 apiece.
From that point on I'm going to focus on shooting the scenes in Unity.

CG-based games are bloated in size when they have a large number of derivatives.
Pregnant/Not Pregnant, Tan/Not Tan, Different Hair Colors, Pubic Hair/No Pubic Hair etc etc.
By shooting a live still image in Unity, we can take into account a large number of factors without increasing file size.

This method will be a mid-point between where I am now and fully real time animation.

I'm not a game developer or anything so i don't have much to say about the methodology of making the cgs, but what it's nice to see how much effort you're putting into the H side of the game and its looking great so far.

Have you decided to decrease the scope of the next update slightly for an earlier release? I think if another version of the alpha were to come out people would be more inclined to comment, and give feedback.

Until then keep up the good work! I always watch this thread fairly regularly even if i don't really have much to say about it.

Edit: How's the other side of the game holding up? Is the combat something you've focussed on? (i saw you we're talking about chivalry medieval warfare) or will it be a secondary part of the game?

The combat will be similar to Morrowind.
Not as fast or dynamic as Oblivion or Skyrim.
Nowhere near as sophisticated as Chivalry.
But I won't release it until the fighting and leveling is at least somewhat addictive.

The gameflow will be:
Explore -> Fight -> Return to Hideout -> Sex -> Explore......
So the fighting and fucking will be equal parts of the experience.

I have to say if you can make the live still image work you can totally forget about using CG at all and maybe you can save around 300 mb or more for the game size.
Indeed. I'm kicking myself for not thinking of it earlier.
It's just more efficient all around.

The progression will go: CGs -> Live Images -> Fixed Animations (Like one of Umemaro's games) -> Fully Interactive Animations (like an Illusion Game) -> Animations Integrated with Combat and Environments (Like Oblivion Sex Mods)

Each upgrade will require more effort per scene and there will be low-tech scenes coexisting with high-tech scenes.

I'm nearing the finish line for the HCGs.
After that I'll be putting up alphas a bit more frequently.

I'm closing in on the finish line vis a vis the cgs.

As I get closer to finishing the CGs, I'm working more and more on the RPG mechanics.
I ended up buying an RPG framework from some guy.
It saved me about 90% of the work.

Life is a game. And it's pay-to-win.

This is one of the threads I subscribe to and always check whenever it hits the first two pages. I've been following along for a long time now and am eager to see what you come up with. I can tell you've put a lot of work into this.

I don't have much to comment on, as I like the HCGs you've posted here and will play your next alpha. Keep it up man, and only release it when you're ready. Your audience will wait.

I'm actually not very happy with how the cgs came out.
They're alright, but not as good as they could have been.
Much of this process was just me learning the software.
But once the basic framework is laid down, I can refurbish the game with higher quality visuals.

Even if you got 2 Imperials to align for sex, you'd still have a problem when a Nord took a Bosmer.

I've solved this problem completely by having the male "equip" the female to his groin.
Just like holding a sword or wearing a pair of boots, she conforms to his hard point. (That's actually what it's called)
Combined with Unity's Inverse Kinematics this gives us perfect alignment, every time.

Cool way of doing it, but does that mean the scenes are always gonna be on flat ground? Otherwise wouldn't there be clipping with the ground on a slope?
