Re: [酸遁] BARRAGE!

While I appreciate the upload, it is the very first version and is in japanese.

Is there anyone who has the latest version in english and is willing to upload it? I really want to rep someone here. :)

I'll second that. I'll throw a rep to Clawfoot too still, but I'd love to have an English version of this, especially if it's more up to date than the one shared so far.

Gotta say, that this game is pretty awesome. It plays really well, looks great with a really fun art style, and genuinely has a lot of content. Many of the levels even happen to be surprisingly non-linear in design, featuring multiple different paths to complete the level, and with room to explore and find things you'd missed on the first play through.

Re: [酸遁] BARRAGE!

To be fair, Clawfoot said it was the original version. :)

So, thanks to you two kind souls, we have version 1.0 from Clawfoot (page 10) and version 1.1 (or 2.0, depending on how you count the updates - the sources seem to be a bit differing there) by Tildryn (page 5). Version 1.2 (or 2.1), the English one, is sadly still nowhere to be found, neither here nor anywhere else ... ye olde Englishe seemeth a bit out of lucke.

The game is still right at the epicentre of awesomeness, though. Really the only thing missing are moaning sounds. I do not know, however, if that would not mar the old-school charm a bit.

I hereby propose the theory that this was originally programmed for the SNES, never came out, somehow ended up in the emulator of a Bungie employee and single-handedly (quite literally, in this case) inspired the whole Halo series. Master Chief, my arse. Old perverts.
... Come to think of it, Metroid totally ripped this off, too. Just look at those enemies in stage 2. So it must have been somewhere before '86. Which makes this history, gents (as well as a case for the AVGN).

Uploading the English version would therefore really be a service to history. ;)

Re: [酸遁] BARRAGE!

Huzzah indeed. Thanks, dienow! :)
To my eye, it seems Japanese, but it indeed says '2.1', which makes my counting from before seem off now. :p

In my defence, on DLSite, there are three updates (on the Japanese one, that is - the English one lists a single one), with not a single version number that I could find. Someone else in this thread spoke of version 2.1's being the English one, so I went with that, but as I said, the sources differ and there is, to my knowledge, no official version numbering. Which might also be why all those copies floating around (Nyaa, and such) that say '2.0' have no ghost mode, zoom function in the gallery, additional scenes / enemies / traps and bonus mission 4. So, in my book, this is version 1.1 / 2.0, making this a handy update / backup for Tildryn's link once MEGA takes that one down.

So, game comes out on January the 5th as RJ145229, gets updated Japanesely on the 6th (bug fixes), the 11th (new additions like scenes, zoom function, ghost mode and bonus mission) and on the 15th (bug and typo fixes), before it goes Englishe as RE145229 on the 17th. That about right?

Based on this (and on my non-existant knowledge of Japanese, so I would not recognise any typographical fixes there; but then again, just checking the readme in a translator would be too easy, nay? ;)), my guess would be the versions of the gracious contributors in this thread are:
Clawfoot's - Jan 5th or 6th
Tildryn's - Jan 11th, since his post is before the 15th
dienow's - Jan 11th or Jan 15th
Missing - Jan 17th

... I love it when porn goes academic! :D

In the meantime, I postulate this fabled English version everybody talks about but nobody has actually seen is a rumour and does not exist. Anyone care to prove the opposite? ;)

How's this? :3

I'm gonna admit. I actually bought this one. First time I've ever done that, spare a tiny donation to Eluku once. Just felt like it deserved it in some way. Would love to see more from the same author. He's clearly put a lot of effort into this, and done it well, and even included an official English version for us. (Even if the sketchy translation is often both inadvertently comical and hard to follow. It's there.)

Re: [酸遁] BARRAGE!

I have no idea about previous versions, but I know that my version is the latest Japanese one (as I bought the game) and the listed version number is 2.1. You can see the version number in the accompanying text document that comes with it.

And I can confirm that Japanese saves work with the new English version.

And by "English version," I mean SUPER BEST ENGLISH EVER.

Curses! It really doth exist! ;)
I salute you, good sir, and proclaim happily that, one, it feels great to stand corrected, and two, you are a god among ... squids, I guess. You have my thanks and my respect. :p

I will dedicate my Inferno run, which I deliberately and dramatically saved for the day I could understand the story, to you now (not that you would gain anything from this ;))! :D

And I agree completely about that developer's deserving support - I do not know, maybe I will follow your valiant example. I have never paid for porn, either, except for one occasion, and well, it was not worth it. But this might indeed become the exception.
I admit, I have a soft spot for Engrish translations - to this day I wholeheartedly love Erotical Night's ramblings ;) - and for the SNES style. This one now has both. :D

On another note: The English readme has an official version number, and it is V2.10. Haw!:rolleyes:

Alrightey, this explains it, of course. I did indeed look into the Japanese readme, but I did not find any numbers there that would have indicated a version number to me. Maybe my text editor, maybe I just did not look hard enough ... Could well be the latter. ;)

2.10, which means major stable release 2, incremental 1.

Doesn't matter. This is more than likely the "last version" that's going to be released for the game. Working on another game already.

Any chance to get a full save for those of us who just want the scenes?

Page 3 or Page 4 should have full save before the bugs, just grab the plasma sword and keep swinging till you reach the girl and you should complete the mission no problem on hard / Extreme... then just save and go to the sex room :p

Re: [酸遁] BARRAGE!

Here's that full gallery save I said I would post a while back. Sorry it took me so long.

For English version 2.1. Place in user_data > story

Re: [酸遁] BARRAGE!

Here's a full gallery save for v.2.1 plus all weapons and EX spray, which is just the dev trying an AoE DPS weapon and hid it away as a secret weapon because it's absolutely useless at 24dps.

Re: [酸遁] BARRAGE!

Don't suppose anyone found out a way to get the sound to work? What kind of sounds are we missing here?
