Re: (Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)
Well seems like this has become a heated discussion

And I was only complaining about my account being cursed with bad luck lol
(Warning: Very long post)
Anyways about facts and data about drop rate. I guess first we must ask where we getting the drop rate data from?
I guess most people refer to the data on this JP blog post:
You must be registered to see the links
It shows drop rate for N and H as both being 55% here, while E is 70%.
Well first to clarify, that data you see there isn't actually data compiled from hundreds/thousands of people running the daily and compiling it together.
The drop rate there is actually taken from leaked info from a bbspink (sort of like 2ch) thread for Aigis. Back then, people were able to mine for the drop rate data from the game and see the "secret number" for drops. The numbers you see there (55 for example) is presumably the range that you'd have to "roll" on the RNG to get the drop (0~55 you get drop, 56~99 no drop) - at least that's what the explanation on that page says.
Anyways, firstly, the "data" on that page is from Aug 23, 2014 or older, so that's at least 1/2 a year old info.
Secondly, on 2014/12/11 maintenance, the devs changed it so that people could no longer "see" (or mine for) the secret numbers for drop rates anymore. If you take a look at this page that has compilation of drop data for Aigis events...
You must be registered to see the links
...You can see that the most recent events lack drop data - that's because people can no longer mine for drop rate data from the game anymore due to something the devs changed.
So we can only assume that the current drop rates are the same as 1/2 year ago (keep in mind that since the above data was leaked, they recently added Extreme version for dailies too - so who knows what happened to actual drop rate after that update).
Also, I understand it's logical to assume that the higher the difficulty = better drop rates. However this is not always the case.
Again using data from the above blog where a lot of ppl get their info from:
Stamina Efficiency for Rainbow Fairy:
E:0.02/2 = 0.01
N:0.03/3 = 0.01
H:0.03*2/6 = 0.01
If you're hunting for Rainbow Fairies alone - then according to data the stamina efficiency for all modes is the same. However things change when you have Celia (she increases drop rates for spirits):
Stamina Efficiency for Non-Awakened Celia:
E:0.04/2 = 0.02
N:0.05/3 = 0.0167
H:0.05*2/6 = 0.0167
Stamina Efficiency for Awakened Celia:
E:0.05/2 = 0.025
N:0.06/3 = 0.02
H:0.06*2/6 = 0.02
As you can see, with Celia, it's actually more efficient (if you're hunting for Rainbow Fairy) to do E mode instead of N or H.
So we can't always assume H > N.
However in the case of Demon Crystal daily, I agree that H mode
should theoretically have better stamina efficiency for drops... however personal experience proves otherwise lol
Also although I've always had bad drop for H mode compared to N, I know that it's possible for this to happen too:
- Few unlucky souls like me get consistent bad drop rates for H
- Few lucky souls get consistent good drop rates for H
- Everyone else gets everything in between
= Aggregate drop works out to 55% (hopefully) - just that some of us are getting the short end of the stick.
P.S. Btw, JP version devs do change drop rate from time to time apparently. For example in the latest Belinda renewal event, drop rate for Belinda was increased. So we can't always assume drop rate will never change over time or with updates.
