@Nordland

Alright, I finally have a question for you... or for you to pass to the rest of Nutaku to hopefully ask the JP Devs for an answer if you yourself do not have one.

When it comes to events that give both a loli unit and a non-loli unit, how will they be handled?

Will the loli unit get replaced by something else for the event making it so we have our first unique NA character? Will the art simply be remade, but have the character be older so they are no longer loli? Will those events just be skipped completely making the non-issue character unobtainable?

People, since Garrett is current a bit better than Bernice because he kills the enemy waves faster, who of the two will be better after the eventual awakening, considering all (attributes, cost, skill, and so)?
I have the two units in level 20 and, since I can now replace Leeanne, was wondering this before start to up their level and affection.

Well garret is offensive HA which specialise in killing a low def enemy, while bernice is specialise in defensive HA where main priorty is block and tank enemy so both have pretty much different role and none is better its more depend on which type you want.

After awaken bernice will have more defensiv power and her aw ability will boost all HA unit def by 5%, while garret have chance 20% chance to dealt 1.5x dmg (recent JP patch changed this to 1.8x dmg).

For aw skill, bernice will stop atking and counter 50% of atk to her back to atk-er as true dmg (of coz there still def up *forgot the multiplier*_/ while garret will still have that 1.8x atk but increase in aspd... rough estimate about ninja aspd (might be abit faster).

As for favouritism in the future... ppl will likely use bernice more as they need the survival def to be able to take hit from boss and multiple large enemy incoming, while a killing job can be given to other unit that focus more on killing type

It's not really that Garrett or Bernice is better than the other, it's that they fill two different roles.

Bernice is a defensive HA. When both are awakened and at max level, they will have roughly the same HP, but Bernice will have more defense and a skill that further enhances her defense. Additionally, her Awakened Ability raises the defense of all HAs by 5%. Finally, her Awakened Skill raises her defense by 1.9 and also has a reflective property that deals Pure/True damage to attackers that is proportional to the Physical Damage she receives, so it won't work against magic attacks. However, Bernice will not attack while using her Awakened Skill and its duration is 20 seconds.

Garrett is a offensive HA. He has more attack when awakened and at max level than Bernice, and his skill and ability further improves his offense. Garrett's Awakened Ability gives his attacks a 20% chance to be 1.8 times more powerful while his Awakened Skill raises his Attack by 1.8 and boosts his Attack Speed for 20 seconds. So, Garrett is a rather straightforward offensive unit, especially with his awakened skill, smash the foe as quickly as possible.

So, it comes down to what do you want from your HA? A high defense tank that can survive blows from some of the stronger boss monsters or an offensive HA that can clear away enemies he's blocking and duel mid-tier boss monsters.

Re: (Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)

There are more benefits to having a tanky HA than a half-assed attacker HA. Surviving and stalling lets you complete a difficult Mission, shitty DPS won't get you anywhere. Garrett requires you to know exactly what the map will throw at you, if they do too much damage, you're screwed. Sure, you could use your healers' skills to boost their healing... if they have it, but what happens if the enemies don't hit that hard, but attack too fast for your healers to keep up? What if the boss simply does too much damage in a single hit and the healers can't patch him up in time? What if Garrett simply gets one-shotted? Berenice can mitigate all of those situations with a Def+ Skill, Garrett simply dies.

If we're talking late-game, then Garret is mostly mediocre until he gets Skill AW, then he's good, Berenice is good all the way until she gets Skill AW, then she turns amazing and probably deals more damage than Garrett with her skill active.

Personally, I'd rather use Leeanne than Garrett, she goes up to 658 Def with a 4/5 skill at 50CC50, she also takes very little resource to get to that level, just feed her a few copies of herself and she'll probably get 3/5 or 4/5 with her Skill, then finish up with some useless Elaines if you need to. Garrett's more difficult to CC and needs to eat fancier stuff for his skill, dragon steaks or CCed units(which require another Silver too) and then one or more precious Rainbow Fairy to get his last point. Then there's the whole AW business: Orbs, 3 Golds/6 Silvers, an Awakening Fairy and 200k. And you're still not done, you need a Skill AW Fairy too.

Leeanne costs almost nothing compared to a fully maxed out Garrett and still tanks better than him.

Quite true. Nirhael does bring up several valid points, which are further compounded by the fact that there aren't that many units with incredible defensive capabilities and the fact that there are several superior options for DPS than Garrett.

There are only a handful of units that can handle the strongest enemy attacks at the moment with the exact number depending upon how many HP and Defense buffs one has available. So, in the long run Bernice does have value that vastly exceeds Garrett as a unit.

Re: (Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)

So... I'm wondering if y'all can clarify something.

I just started playing this... even after reading the wiki I'm a little confused about skill evolution.

So if I get this right you can raise a skill from say Rank 1 to Rank 2 with class evolution, and to upgrade a skill's LEVEL you need to combine people who have the same rank of skill (Rank 2 with rank 2, rank 3 of rank 3) yes?

So, what I'm not sure about is the maximum rank of sill a character can achieve. Can each character only raise their rank of skill once during their class change? So a silver with rank 1 can only get get to rank 2? Or is there potentially a way to get anyone to max skill rank?

Thanks for the help...

Actually, I'm more worried about enemy waves than bosses, to achieve 3 stars. Since I have black Karma, shouldn't she be better to fight against high damage enemies than the HAs? Anyway, if Bernice can do damage at least close to Garrett in the end, I will give priority to she.
By the way, since most of the times I put two tanks in my team and Maribel is my main, what she can does after the awakening?

Karma has 13 seconds of no-death cheese, that is not the equivalent of tanking bosses or mulitple mid-tier enemies over a longer duration.

Maribel - 15% chance to nullify enemy damage. Skill - for 70 seconds attack and defense multiplied by 2.5x, cannot be re-used.

Let me see if I can clear your confusion. Every character of silver and higher rarity has a skill, which can be upgraded from level 1 up to level 5 (later on we'll get units with 10 skills levels). To do so you need to combine the unit with one or more units with the exact same skill (its level doesn't matter and you usually use a unit with the base level, or 1/5) or a rainbow fairy, and you have a chance to upgrade said skill one level (e.g. Increase Attack III 1/5 to Increase Attack III 2/5, and so on).

Some units (you can check which ones in the wiki), when they go through Class Evolution (commonly referred to as CC) replace their skill, no matter which rank it was before, to an upgraded version of the skill (e.g. Increase Attack III to Increase Attack IV). Although it is similar, it is in fact an entirely new skill and will begin at its earliest level (1/5), even if you upgraded the skill the unit had prior to CC.

Very later on, after we get Awakening, we'll get Skill Awakening, which turns a fully upgraded (5/5 or 10/10) skill into an even more powerful version of the skill or into an entirely different skill. This is a costly process and can be reverted as long you have the resources, this skill is not upgradeable.

Yes, to raise the level of a skill, you have to combine it with the exact same skill. For example, raising the level of Increase Attack I requires combining with another unit with Increase Attack I, raising Excellent Arrow requires using another unit with Excellent Arrow, or raising Mind's Eye requires using another unit with Mind's Eye. However, there are also Rainbow Fairies that can raise the level of any skill, but it is typically best to save those for rare units with unique skills.

So, what I'm not sure about is the maximum rank of sill a character can achieve. Can each character only raise their rank of skill once during their class change? So a silver with rank 1 can only get get to rank 2? Or is there potentially a way to get anyone to max skill rank?

As for the skill changing during class evolution (CC), that depends on the unit. Most Silvers do not change skill during CC, in fact only one Silver unit changes their skill during CC, the Blue Dragon Gadoras.

Additionally, units with unique skills do not change skills when they are CCed, so most event units will not change their skill if they can CC. So, for Gold+ rarity units, you'd have to check the units on an individual basis to see if their skill will change during CC, and if their skill does change, it will only change that one time. For example, Platinum Rogue Cypria has Assassinate II before and after CC, but Platinum Valkyrie Dahlia changes skill from Risk Life II to Risk Life III when she is CCed.

Finally, if a unit's skill changes when they are CCed DO NOT waste resources (i.e. units that aren't the same unit*) leveling their skill as the skill level will be reset when it changes. So, using Dahlia as an example again, if her Risk Life II is leveled to 2/5, 3/5, 4/5, or even 5/5 before CC, it will still be Risk Life III 1/5 when she is CCed.

*If you combine the same unit you can reduce the cost of a unit so it isn't a waste overall if their cost is reduced, but it is a complete waste if you use a different unit with the same skill pre-CC in a unit that changes skill upon CC. While it would be more beneficial to combine a skill changed CC with a skill changed CC, this is costly in terms of Silvers, especially with Platinum and Black rarity units. So, it comes down to how many resources you're willing to invest in improving the unit.

Hope this answers all of your questions.

Karma can be Immortal up to 13 seconds. If there is more than one high power enemy or if that enemy can cause paralysis, then Karma alone will not be sufficient. Additionally, while Garrett may be able to duel a single mid-tier enemy with proper heal support, his lack of defensive ability when compared to Bernice will not allow him to hold the line against multiple moderately powerful enemies.

Also, if you're worried about taking down enemy waves, using a HA for offense isn't really the best answer, unless it's something like a Skill Awakened Dina or Deine. You could try to work a strategy like that if you want, but really it would be more effective to either use ranged firepower to devastate what the HA blocks or some other unit type, such as having a Samurai hold the line and kill the mobs, preferably with ranged support.

Indeed, silly of me to not remember I can use Sakuya for this purpose if I need. OK, I'll evolve Bernice.

Re: (Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)

Thank you Bialge and Leonhardt for clearing up my confusion on class changes, I really appreciate it!

I have another question about leveling...

I kind of feel like I've hit a progression wall.
Getting a unit from 1-30 wasn't so bad but going from 30-50 seems prohibitively expensive and daunting.

The wiki talks about exp per charisma and using platinum armors combined with fairies, but I'm guessing that's advice for higher level players. I doubt I'd be able to finish any of the dailies (I tried one last wednesday or thursday and got destroyed, blowing a lot of charisma and stamina)

What is the most efficient leveling process pre-platinum armor? Do I just dump every possible unit of the same class that I get into a unit (Iron and bronze)? Or do I only put bronze units in and sell the iron units? On that note, do I use fairies in combination with bronze/iron units, or save them for "better" fodder?

Of the "best farming levels" you guys recommend in the main post, I'm at the point where I can farm wolfpack 3 star with ease, but every other 20+ charisma quest wrecks my stuff. As a consequence I really only have decent archer fodder, the next "best" quest I can reliably complete is maybe royal road or mysterious beast (But I sometimes fail those, hence my preference for wolfpack).

As a side note,
I got lucky with my first 10 sacred crystals and pulled two platinum units out (An archer and an assassin) but I'm hesitant to level them up since I probably won't be able to class change them for a long time. Is it better for me to focus hard on leveling the units I want to class change first, or does it not really matter early on?

Sorry for the long post, and I appreciate anyone willing to give me some advice!

Re: (Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)

I hit this wall myself and eventually passed it thou some of the others may have more indepth and better methods a couple things really helped me.

1. The monday daily is the most important daily, check out videos and make guide on what units you need to level up to beat each stage. The monday daily's gold armors will fund your leveling for the week and there is a small chance you can get a platinum, but thats all luck based, I only saw one platinum before I started grinding the hard mode.

-Depending on your units you may need to change it slightly if your using more powerful units I tended to use my silver/gold mages for those maps so they cannot be deployed as fast as bronze mages.

2. Try and work up the challenges to grind fairies Lafate's post contains the best maps to grind fairies for each type. I would focus on silver and gold starting out, when your not using stamina for a more important daily/event.

3. Once you can try and reach return to ruins map, the units there will save you a ton of money.

4. Use two of the highest level bronze fodder units and two fairies matching the rarity of the unit your leveling from 40-50 this will save you a ton of money. You can also use the same method 30-40 for bronze units for those bronze fairies you will earn grinding the challenge missions up to low cost battle.

Also make sure you have the units reserved to class change your silvers and gold units before you get them to 50 that way you don't get caught of guard.

Stick leveling your silvers and gold initiallys (until you get your first few CC'd units) because leveling a Platinum unit is harder due to fairies require higher level units to get and Class changing a platinum requires 3 silver units, so depending on if your if your free or pay its more of a resource drain early on.

Re: (Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)

If it was the Thursday Daily, that one can be challenging, but don't judge all of the dailies by that one. So, I'd check that out before writing it off. The boost to your gold reserves as well as the chance for a platinum armor will really help out with the process leveling of your units.

As for efficient leveling of units, this may not be the best advice, but just feeding everything you get from the map would be quick until you start running out of gold at which time you could do runs of Pastoral Gate and sell everything to build back up your treasury (EDIT: Fallendrgmaster's advice about bronzes and fairies is very sound advice as well if you can get the appropriate fairies). While archers would benefit the best from Wolfpack runs and the same unit bonus does add up in the long run, it's a fair map to use to level up other units as well until you can move up to and Return to Ruins. CCing an Archer, Healer, and Katie will give a fair boost to your forces due to the increased range and power of the former two while the latter gets a more powerful Call Reinforcements as well as a higher block count along with being generally stronger.

Finally, Rogues are fairly situational units so focusing on that one early on may not be in your best interest, although a lucky assassination can help with completing maps earlier or tackling difficult missions. However, a Platinum Archer would be an excellent long term investment, but their value will differ depending upon whether said archer is Bashira or Victoria. It will cost 3 silver archers to CC the Platinum archer, so it will be fairly costly in terms of your Silver units as well.

Hope this helps.
