Re: A Demon's Answer to the Heavens (Prudence;Termite)
Pru's words certainly seemed to make Kat's heart sink, but all the more, she shook her head. "It was bound to happen eventually. We're sticking our necks out already, so a Chosen mucking about is bound to be noticed. Now, you no doubt have no choice but to stick your neck out further, hopefully into a better position to deal with some higher-up angel." she said, before looking to the scene of chaos, and chuckling. "Might want to figure out what to do about the crowd too. You want to be miss goody two horns, don't forget who you associate with~" Kat cooed.
In the background, the church collapsed, killing the broken man inside.
The entire town looked suitable for an undead invasion. In fact, as they pillaged and escorted the mermaids to the boat, Pru and Prudence no doubt following as well, once they were leaving the beach, Prudence would detect a peculiar soul. Amidst the buildings, a girl with a black mournful dress walked the dock, watching the ship leave. Her hair was a sickly green, and her eye patch was visible from even that far away from the shore. She didn't linger, and simply returned to the town. Prudence felt no threads come her way.
"I guess we missed one. Looks like she somehow became a mamono in the mess, perhaps she died." Katerina declared. Seras nodded. "I saw an executioner's platform while pillaging, with various corpses dangling, a fresh batch of heretics. One was missing from the noose. So I think you're right." Yuri made a pitiful noise. "Aw... The poor girl is probably scared and confused." she said, while Prudence and Kat had advanced enough vision to know that wasn't the case. That girl's face was filled with Determination. No doubt the very same kind that kept her alive... Or rather, kept her from leaving this world.
