The mermaid smiled, looking up slowly, her eyes meeting Nerem's. She looked at him with such a romantic look, complete with her ever present blush, as if Nerem just asked her to marry him. Her response, was to lean forward, and plant a kiss on Nerem's lips, wrapping her arms around his neck, and having her tail go around him, holding onto him as she embraced him in a romantic kiss...

Nerem would keep up the kiss, not breaking it at all and leaving her to decide when to stop it. He would not take initiatives, moving his arms around her as she did the same with him, and trying to move his tail against hers as she did. Although his tail was different from hers, and he could not control it very well, he would at least try.

(Not a lot going to happen from my side now, fairly submissive character, and he's happy enough with his mermaid)

After a time, Nerem's stomach began to growl, and his skin started to wrinkle from being in the water for so long. The mermaid eventually picked up on this, and smiled, a little sad, but still showing she was happy to have someone to love, "You're hungry..." she said shyly, "... Do you want to go...? I won't mind... But... Promise you'll come back?" she asked.

He nodded a bit at her, and seemed a little sad as he started walking back to the shore. "I'll try to come back, I don't know what's happening here on the island, or where to get food..But I'll come back to you." He said, looked over the beach in search of food, obviously not finding anything in the sand.
"..Where can I get food here?" He asked her, hoping that while she lived in the water, she would at least know where land based food was on the island. His stomach grumbled a bit, loudly letting both of them know he was indeed hungry, even if the catboy had no idea where to find food without civilisation.

The mermaid thought for a moment, pondering Nerem's question, before gesturing for him to come back out to where she was, "It's hard to see it from over there..." she stated shyly, "You can see it better from over here, so the trees are out of the way..." Once Nerem joined her, having little other choice if he wanted food and drink, he'd find her pointing towards the sky, and upon him looking, he'd see a very faint trail of smoke dissipating before it even gets close to the sky.

"That's from the town... Humans like you are there..." she stated, as if unaware Nerem was not totally a human. "I'll be here tomorrow... Waiting for you..." she said, one hand over her breast, as if clutching her heart, romantic thoughts buzzing through her mind as she looked at the soon-to-be departing feline...

Nerem would come back out to her, wading through the water once more to reach her. He would slightly nod at her as he noticed the smoke, and then turn back to her to give her a last passionate kiss. "I'll try to come back tomorrow then, if I can't for whatever reason, I'll try again seven days from then, and if I'm stopped then, another seven days from then, and so on."

He then smiled at her again, and tried to go back to the beach, hoping to follow the smoke to the town so he could have a late breakfast. Once he was out of the water, he would turn around to give the mermaid a last wave before walking out of sight, only then remembering he had only his clothing and his body, and he wasn't even sure what the townspeople would use for money.

The mermaid moaned against the kiss, and happily waved back at him, waiting on the beach, and watching him until he was no longer in sight. Traveling through the forest, Nerem find his trip mostly uneventful, not to mention cold due to how soaked he was. However, not even a minute passed after leaving the beach before he happened upon what appeared to be two elf women, talking amongst each other, and looking directly at the beach.

He first heard an angry voice, as one of the elves appeared very angry, "-those we fight are either killed, or set free." she announced, Nerem obviously having missed out on the beginning portion,

The other elf then spoke up, "Let it go, sister." she said, and when her sister gave her a reminding look, she continued, "We were order to save the stranded humans, yes. But, from what I can see, this one is in no danger, and is not willing to be saved..." she turned to look towards the beach, possibly seeing something Nerem did not, "The monsters of the forest will claim him, if it makes you feel any better..."

The elf sighed after a time, "You're right, that worthless, arrogant, ignorant human will likely meet a gruesome end. I hope he finds pain untold within his ignorance." she announced, and suddenly gave a start when Nerem accidentally cracked a twig under his feet, and revealed his presence. "Who's there!" the elf shouted.

"Easy, sister," she implored the upset elf, before looking towards the direction they saw a pair of cat ears, "We can see you, human. We don't mean any harm, we're looking for humans to escort to our town safely. It's dangerous to be in these woods alone." she explained.

Nerem would be slightly scared after hearing the loud, angry voice of the elf he heard first, and would only try to slightly peek over a bush to look at the elves. He would stay 'hidden' like that until called out, after which he slowly stood up, hands raised above him to show them he had no weapon. His ears were set slightly backwards, and he looked down to the ground. "Don't hurt me, the mermaid told me about the village..And I thought I could try to go there?" He asked with a hint of doubt.

"Is that ok? I heard things about killing and setting free, and monsters?" Despite what he heard so far, he was still curious, and wanted to know what it was about, he hoped the elves were talking about the same village as the mermaid, his stomach letting out another loud rumbling sound as he hadn't eaten yet that day.

The elf who tried to calm her fellow sister turned, and smiled at the headstrong woman, "This one is a lot more agreeable." she noted, before looking back to Nerem, "Put your hands down, human, your kind means no threat to us. We had just got done dealing with a certain... Mentally deficient human. His fate on this island is clearly sealed, but you mentioned you wish to come to our town? And a mermaid told you about it?" she wondered, apparently not wanting a reply before she continued, "Well, I suppose it doesn't matter. Come with us, we'll make sure none of the rather violent inhabitants of these woods makes off with you," she told him.

The catboy lowered his arms and quickly ran over to the elves, trying to stay close behind the one that calmed the other. "Violent inhabitants? What do they do?" He asked curiously, though his apparent way of hiding behind the elf revealed he was also a little scared of the idea of being taken off by the violent ones. He waited a while, and would follow them should they start moving. "Yes, a mermaid, she saved me from the octopuswomen that attacked the ship and raped the men there..I promised her I'd try to come back to her tomorrow."

Even though he may not have liked it, the more agitated elf spoke up, "They steal you away in ways few humans can resist, and then they keep you, and rape you, until you're no longer potent, then they kill you," she said coldly.

That's when the elf near Nerem shook her head, "That's what we're going to stop from happening. Normally, if these were the ordinary, kill you and eat you monsters, we would leave humans like you to rot. However... They need humans like you to breed, so, in order to stop a true monster infestation, we are forced to protect those we despise." she explained.

Nerem nodded, and took some distance from the elves, though still staying close enough to them to prevent bad things from getting him. He would listen to them, and follow, "So, monsters take men to breed..Don't they have their own men?" He asked, a bit confused. "...Was that mermaid a monster? She just let me go.." He would try to return to the mermaid anyway, regardless of whether or not the elves approved.

"Isn't there something that can be done to take back to the men they already captured? Are they just abandoned?" He would not ask any more questions to them after that, only listening to them on the way to where they would take him.

The calmer elf of the two spoke up, "These monsters... From what we know, are not of this world. Rumors go around sometimes, talking about how each and every original monster on this island used to be human, but was cursed with a terrible magic, turning them into sex-loving beasts. Snake-women, spider-women, even us elves are cursed... Although, from what I can tell, our forms did not change into that of beasts, due to our powerful magical presence that protects us... Humans, however, aren't quite so lucky to have such powerful magic, and thus, were transformed..." then she nodded, "And yes... That mermaid you saw was likely a monster as well... No matter what, one way, or another, no matter how nice any monster may seem, they all have one thing in common...

"They want to breed with you," she said simply, "And while some monsters are nicer about it, the rest may even go as far as injuring you, just so that you'll be forced to mate with them..." Then, she let out a sigh, "We try our best to free captured men, but it's all we can do, is try..." she explained...

Walking with the two elves for some time, Nerem found that if there were any monsters hidden in the lively forest, they did not attack him, likely in fear of the elves protecting him, perhaps. No matter what was happening where he could not see, Nerem was eventually lead to what he was promised, a lively town, with a few of it's inhabitants walking from place to place. Some were elves like the ones who found him, others appeared like the monsters he'd heard of, such as a woman with the lower body of a horse, and a ghastly sight of a woman of long, white hair, many red eyes along her forehead, with the lower body of a spider!

Despite all of the monsters unheard of before his eyes, Nerem would notice this was a town much like any other in the mainland as the elves led him through the town. He'd also notice some of the monsters, namely a passing spider woman, giving him a highly suggestive appraisal, smiling at him, with two vampire-like fangs poking out of her lips.

He'd reached a larger building, larger than any other in the town, when the two elves turned to him, and the calmer one spoke, "This building is the Inn. It is where you will eat, and sleep, likely for some time during your stay here. For now, you need not worry about earning your keep. However, you will be expected to do so tomorrow morning, when our captain, Beatrice, gives an orientation for you new humans just arriving." she told him.

"Before we go, and report to her, is there anything else you wanted to ask?"

Nerem nodded a bit throughout their explanation, but ultimately had nothing else to ask which he didn't feel would be better asked to this 'Beatrix' they talked about. "No questions here." He said, smiling a bit at the elves. "Oh..Wait..Why exactly do you hate humans? And do I count as human?" He pointed at his ears, unsure of exactly how much the elves disliked humans, and what parts, though he felt safe enough in the village.
He would try to ignore the spider-woman, but couldn't help but curiously look at her in passing, he would have a question about it for Beatrice tomorrow.

He would smile a bit at the elves, and start heading to the door of the inn, before stopping to turn around "Wait, where is the orientation tomorrow?" He would go inside after the answer, and look around the building to find food.

The elf woman nodded, "Yes, you do count as human. I can sense that a large amount of human blood runs in your veins. To anyone who cares, that makes you human." she told him.

Then, the more unlikeable elf answer his other question. "For as long as our kind's history has been recorded, we elves have kept to ourselves, within the sanctuary of our magical forests. However, our hatred for you began when settlers came and began harvesting our trees for their magical properties, selling it on your market like you would plain copper. You kind's leaders thought to take advantage of our kind nature back then, and didn't stop pushing onto our land at our request, turning our beautiful land into filthy cities, filled with trash, turning our historic ruins into tourist attractions, eventually, we had enough of your kind trying to walk over us, which is when we claimed war. And after the gruesome battle, we got back what was ours, and used our magic to turn your cities to rubble, never again letting the leech that is humankind into our land again, not without good reason."

"However..." he friend cut in, "At times like these, we must set aside our differences. Our kind was trapped on this island many years ago, just as you were today. Neither of us are at liberty to claim land, nor our we in a position to fight each other." she claimed, more directed towards her friend.

"The orientation will be at the center of town, Beatrice will be gathering everyone, so you'd be daft if you missed it." she told him, before he walked off to the Inn. She sighed, "Didn't even say goodbye..."

Her elven friend made a 'hmph,' "Humans and manners don't mix." she said.

After walking into the Inn, Nerem was greeted by the wonderful smell of food, and a kind looking centaur woman who apparently greeted, and took the orders for the patrons of the Inn. "Welcome, human," she greeted Nerem, "You're one of the people who crashed onto this island recently, right? If so, then I bet you could use a nice, hot meal, and something to drink, eh?"

Nerem nodded at the elves during their explanation, seeming to agree that whoever pissed them off way back then did not really do it in a subtle way. He also appeared to feel a little sorry for them, thinking they must have met some of the bad kinds of humans, while the decent ones stayed away.

He smiled at the centaur, "Yeah, I was on that boat when....Wait, one moment please" He said as he rushed back to the door he went inside through, and would poke his head out to see if the elves were still there. "Oh, and thanks for guiding me here, goodbye!" He would say to them before going back in to the centaur woman. "I haven't eaten at all today, if it's not too much trouble I could use some food." He would wait for the centaur to respond, and if asked he would order "Something with fish"

Before they were about to leave, they were introduced to Nerem shouting the goodbye he'd fail to mention before, before he ducked his head quickly back inside the Inn. The calmer elf folded her arms, "... He seems very absent minded." she noted.

"Even for a human, he's a real odd one." the other elf added.

He said, and she responded, and he asked, and she nodded, going to get him some grilled fish, Nerem was brought his order to wherever he chose to sit, if he chose to sit. And then the centaur would ask, "Did you enjoy your meal?" when he was done eating. If he did not eat his whole meal, she'd ask, "Is something wrong?" upon noticing something might be wrong. And if he decided he wanted a room after that, the centaur would tell him which room would be his, and tell him to go upstairs. Should he go to sleep after that, he'd wake up next morning. And should he not wake up next morning, he'd be dead.
