“
Korrie would rather not test that…” The wyvern girl sweatdropped. Though she did wonder if ‘Scribblegirl’ could write more than instructions and descriptors to manifest. Could she really transform things? There were a lot of useful applications for something like that.
With a little focus, Korrie was happy to see that mentally refilling her drink had worked out. There was a slight strangeness to it as she tasted it, an illusory feeling, like the drink wasn’t truly there. Yet it looked and tasted real enough. She contemplated that feeling while watching Fey casually use her powers to create a fire phoenix.
…She felt a tinge of jealousy. Her sister pet was leagues stronger than her, and much as she had reservations about those two interlopers that crashed into their lives and made it so much more complicated, the strength and flexibility of their powers were also indisputable. Compared to them, she was almost helpless. Regular fire breath and a little enhanced strength… A flicker of memory flitted by of how she barely contributed against those… moonkin or whatever they were called, those squid things that attacked their ship before. While that feeling of disparity would motivate some to get stronger, and perhaps in the right mental state it would for Korrie, in her current lethargy it merely made her less motivated to do anything, groaning quietly while Fey poked at her.
“
Nngg, it doesn’t count if we’re still conscious… It’s not like we don’t work at all… Korrie just doesn’t feel like-” She began to complain, practically sinking into her seat, when weird noises coming from outside snapped her from her listless stupor. “
You hear that?” She asked, sitting back up straight. Those noises were off. It sounded like frantic rummaging, and there were weird masculine voices. Right before she decided to get up to go investigate, the source of the disturbance opened the door themselves.
For a moment, Korrie stared back with just as much confusion, though the thought that she was naked in front of a bunch of men didn’t register at all. Nor the thought that they were burglars, for that matter. For that brief moment, her first assumption was that some dreamers out in the waking world had somehow stumbled here in their dreams in a freak coincidence. The idea they were being attacked by strangers out of nowhere just didn’t occur to her, not when they’ve been alone out on the open ocean for so long, not when there’s been no warning at all.
At least, until their leader started talking like a bandit. Then it finally clicked in her head, and that complete bewilderment quickly turned into panic. “
P-Pirates?! When did they-” She stammered, scrambling to her feet. She wasn’t used to being in danger, though Aya’s voice in her mind helped soothe her a lot, an authority confirming the situation for her. Even still, she was left in a fight-or-flight state, her lack of self-confidence biting her in a crisis. Flight was not an option though, so there was only one thing left to do.
“
G-GO AWAY!” She yelled, before taking a quick breath and spewing a stream of red hot flame at the robbers. Angry and fearful, her flames functioned like normal fire, searing and burning, though not hot enough to do more than repel with some light burns. Greater desperation would see those flames grow more intense rapidly, but with Fey around, those heightened emotions might not be necessary to get a real fire going…

Elsewhere, blissfully ignorant of what is happening back on the ship, the twins continue enjoying their candlelit steak dinner with their new girlfriend. The two shared a look of mild surprise and amusement at the reason for Aila’s choice, coupled with wonderment seeing how the golem’s hair transformed with a beautiful starry effect, and waited while she explained why this particular combo of dishes was considered a romantic tradition. Curiously, there was a subtle but notable change in the girl’s tone, the reason for which was soon revealed.
“
Oho, clever~ A combination of subtle mood nudges to set up the best first date.” Shiroi smirked, amused and impressed. “
Good thing we ended up here then. Wouldn’t be able to afford coming to a place like this if we did sneak out on our own.”
“
Indeed. You could almost call it fateful~” Kuroi giggled softly, “
Though I’m sure we would’ve found our own fun regardless.” She said as she sipped her own drink, her sibling doing the same, wondering if the starry hair effect is consistent or if it’ll do something different for everyone. The neko thought for a few seconds, her fluffy ears twitching. “
…By the way, your usual self is cute, but I also like this confident side of you.” Kuroi ended up saying, smiling back with a light blush and a flirty glint in her eyes. She liked the way Aila was looking at them, and so did Shiroi, who nodded and grinned.
“
Yep, there’s a certain charm to confidence. You’re always huggable, but right now I’m starting to feel like doing more than that~” The albino teased, feeling flirtier than usual as well. The effect of the food may not be as pronounced on the sisters who don’t need as much of a confidence booster, but it certainly had its intended effect. “
But no need to rush. Let’s take our time and enjoy ourselves, and once we get back to the ship, maybe we can… enjoy ourselves some more, hm?” She continued, emphasizing two certain words and chuckling at her own joke while she continued savoring the food and drink.
She never thought about matters of romance before. It wasn’t all that long ago that she was slowly withering away on a hospital bed, having long since come to terms with a fate cut short. Even with that aside, she never considered herself the romantic sort. But this feeling in her heart is pretty enjoyable, actually…
