Late to the show, but welcome. Don't feel guilty... it's different to watch tentacle rape and hentai than to experience real rape, which I think is the important thing. Fantasies aren't the same as reality, and so long as nobody's actually getting hurt, then we're all golden, right?

My fantasies actually aren't about rape, though. Woman enjoying tentacle lovin > tentacle rape. That's not where the guilt comes from. It's more about how I was raised in a Puritanistic society, where SEX IS WRONG and programs like DARE teach you it's bad to relax.

That's a lot of baggage to have to carry, especially as a kid who doesn't have the information or the feeling that they have the right to form their own opinions. I hope that being able to live on your own is allowing you to feel more like you can be your own person, whatever way that works out to be. (And I apologize if I'm sounding obtuse. ^_^" I don't have a lot of experience with being raised by religious parents, so I can only imagine.)

Hmm. Actually, my mom was pretty good about letting me know that my choices were my choices. She was a pretty good parent, all things considered. But her beliefs inevitably showed through in her parenting... none of us are perfect, after all.

The situation's a lot more complicated than that, of course (whose isn't) but I'm not about to spill my can of worms on people who don't want the slime. But yeah. I've been atheist for as long as I can remember. So I'm pretty confident about my identity and all that stuff. Most of the baggage is just residual, and the hardest part about overcoming it is realizing it's there... if that makes sense.
