Re: About lurkers

Aika looked like his picture. You never turned around.

In fact, when I pressed the issue and mentioned that I was a member, you just slowly lowered your head and buried it in your hands, so I left.
Though it was funny that Aika was just walking around in swimgear, or whatever that is in his picture.

Re: About lurkers

Oooo, A fun topic that I can pick apart!

tl;dring the last part of your argument, I'm going to nullify this entire position of yours by stating that I have never seen any hostility towards lurkers, or... Lurker, on this forum. True, there were some restrictions that may or may not have been cropping up on guests, but it would most likely be the end result of protecting the eyes of minors that could easily get past the "you have to be this tall to view view the ride" screen.

Now, I ignored the rest of your post since I have a few words to clear up your situation: Chrome - Incognito Mode. If your file sniffing mother tries to root through your PC to see what you've been up to Chrome's IM mode will prevent her from finding anything in your machine's history, provided that you keep the rest of your machine clean (ie: downloads, bookmarks, etc). I view ULMF using this very mode - mainly because my laptop is currently my only machine for everyday use. That and I have nosy siblings.

My preference for hiding what I look at is for two reasons:
1) To maintain a professional appearance -> my boss doesn't need to see the porn I fap at.

2) To prevent my youngest sibling from "accidentally" finding my porn. Little kids should not be exposed to this stuff. Not until they're thirteen, haha.

Additionally, and this may be a shocker to you, but lurking is the exact same as contributing to someone that's trying to find some dirt on you. You're right to say that anything and everything you do can be traced back to you easily. What you need to do is grow a backbone tough enough that you'll be able to say "So?" when anyone traces you back to your fetishes.

There, I've had my say.

Re: About lurkers

The specific incident I had in mind was putting a password on an upload with reason being stated as "So I know nobody gives it out to lurkers" or some such. Pretty sure that's not anti-minor behavior. But your point is still somewhat valid. I know now that the hostility I have seen is mostly joking in nature... which I misunderstood.

Thanks very much for the suggestion, but I live alone, and am not worried about anybody physically browsing my computer.

As for the last part... you're absolutely right. I guess I haven't gotten to that point yet. I am suitably chagrined =(

You can download an add-on to Firefox for incognito mode too. It's called stealther.

Funnily enough, some of my friends actually found out that I visit here by accident. I have this site bookmarked and I left my laptop unattended for a while when I was with them. I was initially kind of embarrassed, but it isn't really a big deal.

Re: About lurkers

Really? I've always had this idea that hentai in general was this big social stigma. Everybody not on the internet that I've ever talked to (aside from my girlfriend, bless her) thinks hentai is perverted and only fuckwads are into it.

Then you're in a wrong kind of internet. Yes, of course there are people like that, but most people I've met over the internet freely admit enjoying hentai. I think it's mostly US that's obsessed with sex and anything related to it. You have Christianity to blame for that. Finland(where I live) is pretty secular(even though we have official church).

Welcome to the internet, where you are accepted because of your sins. Besides, people who don't like hentai are the same people who made fun of video gamers back in the 1980's because they were nerds. Now look how big video gaming is. Just wait. Hentai's gonna be the next video games.

No, you just have the fuckwads that twist Christianity to suit their own strange agendas, keeping the power for themselves. I'm a Deeply religious Christian, and i have no problem mentioning to people that I'm here :3

No other religion is as closed-minded about sexuality as Christianity except Islam. But you're right. Most people(regardless of religion) are more sensible than that.

Perfect view on Christianity.

Also, what is this lurker doing in our boards? And why did no one tell me he was here? I wanted to welcome him first, dammit!

I told you I was here. I even made it into a public thread, rather than hiding it in the new member welcomes. =D

That being said.... Hai!

'Ey, don't feel bad, I'm pretty sure using the word "hentai" in real life makes me blush like a schoolgirl. (And yeah, I'm not at the backbone-having, hentai-admitting phase either.)

Re: About lurkers

Meh. The only way my friends will find out if I like hentai is if they ask me it. So long as it doesn't come up in conversation, they won't know; and if they do find out, and give me shit about it, I'll just say "Hey, I know -you- like horse sex, -you- like watching girls get tortured, and -you-... well, I haven't known you long enough, but I'd bet money you like something just as bad as well. At least no real girls are harmed in hentai; can you say the same of the stuff you watch?"
. . . Yeah, I think I know a bit much about my friends >.<

Re: About lurkers

Damn. You actually know someone who likes watching women have sex with horses? As in like... a non drawn way, like filmed?

That would creep me out.

It's either him, his mom, or his gf. I know it's not his gf because I've known about the horse porn on his comp longer than he's known her - there's about a 3 year gap. That leaves his mom or him, because they're the only ones - besides his gf - that know the pass to his computer.
He's insanely paranoid about it, too; he changes the pass at least once a month. He doesn't know I've snooped, though, and he always logs on for me so I can play the games on his comp while he sleeps whenever I come over.

Re: About lurkers

That's hilarious. Nothing like someone being insanely paranoid about the pass to their computer, then giving access to someone else without encrypting their shit.
