Making their way back, the pair take another door at an earlier intersection. Soonish, they arrive to yet another choice about where to go. The door is once again the tempting option for Ai
"Like you said, behind doors are the good things" Ai says as she pokes at the door with her naginata, hoping to make it fall like the other one

This door, while rickety, stays intact as Ai prods at it with her polearm; it seems as though it is still sturdy enough to function as a door.

Ignoring her friend completely, Ai takes matters into her own hands and tries to open the door. If it opens, then she'll enter, dragging Mary with her

When the two opened the door, they were confronted by an enormous room with a reasonably large hole in it that led outside, which was probably where the spiders came from. The spiders? The room was full of enormous spiderwebs, and on each rested a large spider. Other smaller spiders skittered about on the floor, but they were still about the size of a mid-sized dog, and two of these started to take an interest in the young ladies who had entered their chamber. The others seemed strangely indifferent.

As Ai sees the massive webs and the spiders scurrying around, she wants to drop her blade and just give herself for the spiders to take, the earlier encounter with one still fresh in her mind.

"No! Focus!" she thinks, readying her naginata with her usual stance as a blush comes to her face

Mary took a look at her friend, noticing the subtle indications that she really wanted to lose this fight. Mary had to admit she was curious what would happen, but she knew that she wouldn't enjoy it if she just gave herself up to them, focusing her power as she shot too blasts towards one of the spiders.

Mary's blasts both miss the spiders, but Ai manages to land a blow so fierce that it cuts the smaller one in half.

18 vs. 1, Critical!

The other spider suddenly launched webbing out of its rear end, surprising Mary and slamming into her, entangling her a good deal. The other spiders look on disinterested, or pay them no mind.

Mary's struggles allow her to free herself from the web. Ai also can't seem to strike at the spider properly, it's strangely fast.

Ai too finds herself webbed by the spider, though she manages to hold on to her naginata.

Mary smiles as she gets free of the web, there'd be plenty of time for enjoying that later, if this battle was going the way she expected it would. Taking a moment to line up the shot, she fires two blasts at the nearby spider.

Ai strikes at the spider, missing the nimble creature as it jumps over her strike. As it lands, a torrent of webs launched by the spider entangles her. Blushing deeply at the arousing situation, she tries to struggle away

Ai manages to struggle out of the webs, and both Mary's blasts hit the spider.

16 vs. 17

The spider shoots more webbing at Mary, but she manages to dodge it. The fight seems to be going well so far, but the rest of the spiders seemed to be getting a bit more interested in the goings on, though none of them joined in.

Mary is a little worried at the thought of fighting all the spiders, so she tries to be a little bit more subtle with her next attack, only doing a single blast. She was glad she managed to dodge the webbing though, she thinks.

Mary manages to blast the spider, sending it flying just out of reach of Ai's naginata.

The spider retaliates by shooting its webbing at Mary, covering her in the sticky strands.

Mary looks a tiny bit surprised as the webbing envelops her. "Oh! It got me again...that's a...shame...mmm so nice..."

Deciding that she still has a battle to win, she tries to wiggle herself out of the webbing, maybe if she was really lucky she'd get out...or wind up even worse...she wasn't sure which she wanted right now.

Mary failed to get out of the webbing, and the spider easily dodged Ai's attack as it skittered over to the young mage; it was odd how well this spider could jump considering how big it was.

12 vs. 1

The spider hits Mary with more webbing, nearly covering her. She's beginning to feel quite tired.
