Ai manages to catch her balance after the tackle, even using it to get a short of momentum head start on her run. She follows after the man, finding herself just a tiny bit faster than him, or so she thinks. He weaves through the allyways, Ai always managing to catch sight of him long enough to follow his direction. She does notice that it's getting less crowded as they move through the streets.

The man seems to be trying every trick he can to shake Ai, but she manages to stay close enough to turn an ally, watching as he ducks into a shady, run down looking building.

Going after the tackler, Ai's stride took her through some back valleys as she trailed the assailer. While it seemed that the alleys were getting less and less hospitable from the lack of people, she still pushed onwards, not wanting to lose the other person. Once the runner retreated into the particular building, she would follow, but take a little more carefulness in the entering process. There might be others there, so better not charge in headlong and get surrounded.

Ai makes her way cautiously inside the building. The windows are boarded up and the only light is from the open door. And that doesn't make it too far. She can see how it opens up into a hallway, closed doors on both sides before it empties into a foyer area. There appears to be stairs up there, but she can't tell anything else from where she is standing, not to mention it's too dark to make out any details further than the end of the hallway.

It smells suspiciously like a trap, but who knows...

"Hmm, these dark places, so dark and making it hard for me to see..." Ai pondered, not really liking the dark shrouding things from her sight. While it was likely a bad idea, she still sneaked in, wanting to see what the place had and if the tackler had tackled her for a good reason.

Ai makes her way through the house carefully, floorboards creaking. She thinks she heard something from upstairs, but the sound was drowned out by the sound of something loud from outside, maybe something falling from a roof to the street, maybe a tile or something, the houses on this street were all in pretty bad shape.

As she enters the foyer, she has just enough time to notice the trap. There was a tripwire in front of her, which she avoids. Of course. All that does is let her notice as three men slip out from the shadows in the house, surrounding her and blocking off all the exits. They stare quietly, menacingly at her. Slowly approaching with what appears to be whips in their hands.

Not being dissuaded by jump scares, Ai still moved in further, maintaining alertness. It paid off, for she avoided the tripwire quite handily with her careful approach. Still, it didn't prevent the ambushers from surrounding her. "Looks like they are serious..." she thought, getting out her trusty weapon and preparing for combat.

The three men move in carefully, with practiced expertise. One of them calls out. "Give up girl, there's no way you can beat us, we've been doing this a long time."

Ai also had to make sure she didn't set off that tripwire, she had no idea what it did, but it probably wouldn't be helpful to her in the long run.

"As if I'd bow down to you. I've beaten bigger things than you." Ai replied to the one attempting to intimidate her. It was pretty much true, all those monsters and some random thugs and ruffians had indeed fallen before her somewhat skilled poleblade. She would be ready for them, in any case, even if the tripwire still waited for her. She'd have to remember and avoid that.

(If Ai can summon her friends, get Spinalis out to the battle. Otherwise it'll be just swing swing.)

Although Ai has her weapon out, she knows that it doubles as an implement for casting her summon spells. Since she hadn't cast one today, summoning one of her friends would be easy...this time.

She instinctively knows a short chant which she recites, a magical circle appearing on the ground under her. The men surrounding her growl. "Fucking bitch...she's a summoner? What fucking idiot brought her here?! Fuck, get her!"

Around Ai, spines of rope appear from the circle in the floor. They shoot out, spinning around her as a seemingly impossible amount of rope comes from the floor. It starts to take form next to her until the familiar massive form of Spinalis is nearby. His presence fills Ai with a confidence and comfort, Ai knows the rope demon won't let anything happen to her if it can help it.

The men shout in an unknown language, dropping their whips and drawing swords, apparently unwilling to take any chances on the demon.

"Hehe, joke's on you now..." Ai chuckled as she saw the forming of her long-time companion. Once the rope demon was completely there, she quickly patted his side. "Welcome back, Spinalis. These men want to harm me, let's teach them a lesson." she told the companion creature, readying to meet the opponents in combat. The busty girl stayed right next to her companion, taking a presented opportunity to attack someone with her pole blade.

Ai leaps into action bringing her spear down upon one of the thugs. He raises his shield, blocking the attack and deflecting it off to the side. This leaves off balance for him and another one of his buddies to attack her. Both of them land solid hits, though the blow is cushioned by her armor. She feels the fatigue though, knowing that whatever counted for her health had just taken a hit. The third thug moves into attack her, though he's distract by Spinalis, getting a nice solid twack, disrupting his attack.

Looking around, Ai can tell she's not fighting in the best spot. There's a staircase nearby which might allow her an advantage, if she could get there safely. She might also be able to trick one of the men into the tripwire from earlier. But she could tell that even with Spinalis she probably wouldn't win a straight up fight, she had to get smart and tactical.

The thugs seemed to be somewhat proficient with their weapons and shields, the one getting attacked pretty efficiently deflecting the incoming blow from Ai's polearm. His buddies were quick on the attack, some blows connecting with the girl's defenses and taking a toll on her durability. The last one was saved by Spinalis' interruption attack, saving at least some of the situation and not making it a total farce to the busty girl's side. With a quick look around the room, she could notice that there were a few opportunities presented to her to get some sort of advantage against the men. And it really looked that she would need them to win, even with the help of her pet rope demon. Assuming a more defensive approach, she began to back towards the steps and hopefully get something of an advantage there.

Ai decides she needs to make her way to the stairs. Spinalis lands another blow on the wounded thug behind her, distracting him long enough for Ai to make a tactical retreat. The thugs rush at her but she manages to deflect one of their attacks as they do. She gets another hard thump, but she's able to make it to the stairs and press the advantage. While moving she was able to give a solid strike to the already injured thug, keeping him off balance and away. He looks like he's about to collapse.

Currently Ai's got her back to the wall against the stairs, the thugs had to fight their way past spinalis to get to get, giving her just enough time to solidify a defensive position. It wasn't the best, but hopefully between the high ground and Spilalis she could secure a victory.

Again, it seemed that the skill and determination of these men was not to be underestimated. Even with her defensive weapon, they managed to get a hit in and fatigue Ai some more during her retreating maneuver. Still, it was not a total waste, as she too managed to get some hurt done along the way. Urging her unnatural companion to back off too, she would take the battle up to the middle of the stairs, where it would be more difficult for them to get all three people attacking at the same time.

Ai manages to retreat safely to the middle of the stairs. As she tries to order Spinalis to fall back she notices there isn't really room for the summon to retreat. However as the men chase her up the stairs he manages to block two of them off. The injured one is stuck at the bottle of the stairs, just barely avoiding another blow from the rope demon. Both of the thugs trapped down there growl as they hack into the summon. Ai can tell it's taken damage but it's far from being down.

She however only has one man to deal with. He charges at her, but his footwork is clumsy going up the stairs, she's easily able to block his attack, landing a blow of her own against the man.

A look around says she's probably in decent shape, though a battle of attrition might not work out for her in the end.

While Ai herself was doing fairly well against one man, both fending off his attack and cutting him back, Spinalis' condition and predicament worried her. She was not one to thoughtlessly sacrifice her pets, and really cared for the animate rope creature. "Need to get there..." she pondered, hoping to rid herself of this one assailant as soon as possible so she could help out with dealing away with the remaining two ruffians.

Ai launches another attack at the man in front of her. But apparently he's well trained at fighting at a disadvantage. He deflects her attack again and lands a solid hit on her while she's off balance. She doesn't topple from her high ground but she's feeling pretty tired. He grins and licks his lips, apparently he's well aware of how close she is.

Spinalis has a bit more luck of his own though, the injured man charges him only to be tripped up by another striking whip attack. It's followed up by a heavy smack, sending him flying to the side, knocked out. The other bandit uses the opening from Spinalis' attack to land a hard slice on the demon. Some of the rope comes off, falling to the ground.

Ai could tell this battle was close, she was tired and Spinalis was injured. She had the high ground however, and could probably outlast the man she was fighting. She thought the same might be possible for her summon. Looking about she noticed a table at the top of the stairs. It caught the corner of her eye, maybe she could topple it at her attacker? But she might leave herself open while retreating...

Again, the assailant was determined to get to her, and kept up his push with a stalwart defense and riposte. It was getting frustrating to get rid of his leery presence. Still, things seemed to go a bit better on Spinalis' side as the rope demon pummeled the other man attacking him down. It might just go their way though, if the table upstairs could be used succesfully. Seeing no better alternative, the girl decided to go for it.

Ai manages to hold a solid defense as she makes her way upstairs. The man chases her, expecting her to attack normally, but he's caught off guard as she topples the table. He tries to get out of the way but fails, the table toppling into him and knocking him down the steps. He seems winded and stunned when he lands, and it isn't helped as Spinalis lands a seriously heavy hit on him, even as he's pinned under the table.

The other man continues to press against Spinalis, using the demons offensive tactics to make openings for his own attacks. Another heavy chop goes into the demon, but it certainly looks like it could handle a couple more.

"Hah, suck on that." Ai's briefly triumphant mind thought as she saw the pervert tumble down the stairs and end up under the table when the steps ended. This was the prime moment to push back, and she went down the stairs, hoping to get the jump on the tabled man before he could recover from his predicament.
