Leena hesitated for a moment, then gently started to shake him. If that failed ... well she'd just draw back a moment then see how he reacted to a sudden kiss.

( Hehehe, sometimes something other than constant seriousness can be a good thing, keeps things from getting drab, and boring. ;) )

Roger groaned angrily, and almost seemed to go back to sleep by his own stubborn will. However, when he felt Leena's lips against his cheeks, that caused enough surprise in his mind to make him awake. Roger blushed a little, and with a tired look on his face, looked over at Leena, bewildered over the kiss she gave him, a little uncertain over Leena's true feelings for him.

She smiled a little sheepishly, probably unsure of how he would have reacted to that.

"We made it to the entry point. I thought you'd want to be awake when we head inside and not left out here. Storm is done for now, but the wind is starting to pick up again so I think we're going to get hit again hard soon."

Still, despite this, she made no immediate move to sit up in her seat fully, still half draped over him, possibly making sure he'd stay awake?

Roger smiled back at her, the way she so close to him, the way she was looking at him, he wondered why he didn't catch onto it before. Roger leaned towards Leena, so that their lips were not far apart, just an inch away from meeting each other, with their eyes directly looking at one another.

"Or... Was it that you couldn't resist the urge to kiss me?" he said suggestively, with his lips not far from her own.

A sly grin crossed over her face as she replied.

"Mmm, that might have been part of it too. Actually ..."


By that point she just leaned in and gave him a full kiss, apparently deciding subtle approaches just weren't going to cut it.


Of course, this placed her slightly off balance, and she half fell on top of him in that position, making no attempt at fixing that.




Regina had moved just out of sight of the car, heading a little ways into the bunker. There she discovered the remains of human skeletons, some of which she guessed to be a good fifty or more years old. One in particular was near a piece of paper that had some how survived it all, albeit yellowing in color.

Picking it up, her eyes widened at the date on it.

September 21st, 2152.

The mad man, Albert Wesker managed earlier this month to release the virus called Uroboros into the atmosphere of the planet, beginning what will surely be a global saturation and epidemic. As a result, until a cure can be synthesized, the majority of those who are not already infected have sought refuge in heavily fortified bunkers designed to keep these new creatures out. Unfortunately, creating such a cure has proven next to impossible, and hope is now all but lost. The sudden attack by Wesker, who apparently survived this catastrophe due to his viral infection on the Atlanta bunker came as a complete surprise to everyone, as did the newer version of the T.A.L.O.S project, which was believed to have been wiped out almost a hundred fifty years ago.

As of the publishing of this article, we have since determined three things.

One: Uroboros is no longer airborne.

Two: Infection can still occur through forced sexual contact with an infected host, usually resulting in the creation of more of these creatures if the proper male+female gender specifications are met, though as of now we still have been unable to determine exactly how this works.

Three: Wesker brought with him a T.A.L.O.S tyrant during his attack on the Atlanta facility, and reports indicate the beast may still be there, skulking the inside of the thirty sub-floor facility. Unfortunately, due to the fact this facility also contained the Third Energy generator, which we had hoped to use to go back and reverse this, we have been unable to get to it. Every team we've sent so far has failed to check in, or return.


Colonel Abrahms has sent one final team to the facility, armed with the best weaponry the planet has left, and the technical expertise to go back in time using the Generator. Our hope is that they can either slay the T.A.L.O.S, or get through the 'gateway' before the Tyrant is able to attack them. This reporter has serious doubts of either occurring, and as such has taken the proper steps to ensure the public, what's left of it, know this is likely a failing mission, and to prepare for the worst.


At that point, the clipping ended, and Regina couldn't help but shake her head.

"Shit. If they didn't kill that thing ..."


Her thoughts were cut off by the sound of a roar near by, coming from where she needed to go.

"Fuck!"

She started for the entry, then realized if it WAS the Tyrant, she'd lead it right to the others. Gritting her teeth and praying, she took off in the direction of the beast, hoping to at the least distract it and lose it somewhere inside, and hook up with the others later. If not ... well she'd just have to hope whatever 'technical' expertise was around here that the others could make sense of it, or they were all dead.


She ran, looking over her shoulder once to see where the beast was. It was three feet behind her, gaining ground despite it's massive size. There wasn't enough time to take it into detail as it raised a gigantic arm, which revealed ....


ROCKET LAUNCHER!


Regina barely managed to dive into a side tunnel, probably a maintainence shaft as the rocket went flying past where her body had been, obliterating the far wall at the end of the tunnel.



Meanwhile, on the surface, the roar had gone unheard by Leena and Roger, however the explosions from almost directly under them were very audible. Not to mention the entire vehicle rocked from the sheer concussive force of what felt almost like a brief earthquake below them.

Once the explosion was heard, Roger suddenly broke from the passionate kiss, but he could not break from the embrace Leena had him pinned in without pushing her off, and given how much he liked it, he wasn't about to do that.

"Shit, she couldn't wait, could she?" he whined, a little heart broken over not being able to enjoy Leena's affection further.

Leena sat bolt upright, a worried look on her face.

"Roger, she wasn't going any further than down that ladder to be sure it was still stable. Which means something else forced her to move away from us. I think, better be."


She scrambled out of the car, a disappointed look on her face that they'd been interrupted.

"I suppose we'd better go see what kind of shit she got us into ... wait, is that smoke coming from the entry way?"


True enough, if Roger looked hard enough he'd see what appeared to be a plume of black smoke coming from the hatch in the ground, which was now fully exposed. It was rising up as if a fire was burning somewhere below.

Roger growled, "God fuckin' damn it, I didn't quit smoking just for this shit to happen." He complained, and quickly held his breath, before moving to go down the ladder, gripping the sides so as to slide down, and make the trip faster.

Roger was greeted by the same sight Regina had been minutes ago.

Bodies, or rather skeletons littered the dim gray floor, appearing that they'd shatter if touched.

The halls were lit by a dim set of white lights, the type of bulb unknown, though it was amazing this place actually had power still.

Looking further down, Roger could see the smoke was coming from a branch off corridor, the faint smell of something burning coming from around the corner.



Leena slid down next to him, eyes narrowing as she coughed from the thickening black smoke.

"Jesus, what the hell is that burning?"


From further down that hall, another explosion was heard, followed by a loud roar of frustration from something clearly not human.


"Graaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhrg!"

Roger quickly ran in the direction of the roar, trying to restrain from breathing in as much as possible during the process, while hoping to catch the monster from behind, and charge a full blast of Tesla into it's back.

Roger came around the corner and found the monster he was looking for. Only the beast was a lot bigger than he'd probably anticipated.


While the tunnel was about twenty five feet in height here, the beast towered close enough that it's head nearly touched the roof. It had a body thicker than a tank, easily weighing over three tons. The shocker though was it's arms.

Each arm was the size of a large tree base, except they weren't really arms. Both were made of green colored metal, and they were, from the sounds and what it was doing, each a massive sized rocket launcher.

It's entire backside, and likely the front was covered in what appeared to be super-thick armor, much like a kevlar vest, only this seemed to be it's skin.


The creature had blasted it's way through rubble, and Roger could see Regina further down the tunnel let off a few shots from her rifle before having to bail to one side, as not one, but SIX rockets fired from the left arm of the creature, at once. How it had fired a big ass rocket launcher like a full auto was impossible to tell, but to him, it probably didn't matter. That creature was trying to kill the only real chance he might have of saving Brandy or his friends, and if Regina got killed by the thing ....


Leena came around the corner and froze, speaking very low to Roger.

"Oh shit. I don't think the Tesla's are going to be enough Roger. No wonder she didn't come to us, it must have driven her away from the entry way before she could escape."

She flinched when the beast fired it's Rockets, watching Regina narrowly escape an explosive death.



Once more the beast roared in frustration, and then, it wound up it's arm, swinging at the wall where Regina had ducked past into another corridor for cover, completely collapsing the wall in.

Neither one of them had any idea if she'd still been in that exact section when it had happened, but if she had ... she was buried alive, if she hadn't been crushed to death.


Leena meanwhile had begun looking for anything they could use against it, but without much success.

A sudden burst of dark violet energy suddenly lashed out from a non-collapsed passage, striking the creature. The area that the blast hit seemed to decay at an unusually fast rate, though the decay stopped after a few seconds.

Standing in the passage that the blast came from was a human-sized armored figure. Clad in a black armor that seemed to be a cross between a crush-resistant suit, tactical armor, and medieval plate, oddly enough. The only features visible were the person's eyes, which were glowing a deep, dark violet. It spoke with a somewhat muffled voice that sounded male, "This way, lint-for-brains!"

Roger shielded his eyes from the blast by instinct, and when he suddenly heard the voice of the supposed one responsible for it, he thought of two things, all in a few seconds. First, he thought, "Lint for brains? Are people gonna talk gay like that in the future?" before quickly wondering what Leena's take on the situation was, looking to her, both to see what she was going to do, and to make sure she was not left behind.

Leena stood absolutely still, closing her eyes against the light.


The beast roared in pain and anger, whipping around to face the newcomer, then raised it's right arm, firing two rockets down the hall before taking off at a tear down the hall after it's target. It had not spotted either Leena or Roger, and likely at this point wouldn't have cared.



After a moment Leena breathed.

"Ok uh ... let's see if she survived that collapse, and if we have to dig her out."


She ran over to the collapsed archway, beginning to pull bits of debris away that she could, frantically.

Roger was right by her, helping with the larger rocks he was sure she couldn't move, while fear ran through his mind at the thought of his only hope at seeing his friends alive again crushed underneath a heap of rocks.

The figure darted into a side passage, faster than humanly possible, before sending two rockets of its own at the beast.

The creature was taken aback and the rockets slammed off it's armor.

Roaring in anger, it continued lumbering after it's target, completely forgetting the woman it had been trying to kill moments ago.



Leena worked as fast as she could, and eventually cleared enough of a space to peek in through. She jumped back as she saw the muzzle of a rifle pointed at her face, yelling, "don't shoot!"


After a moment Regina's voice was heard.

"Oh good, it's you folks. And here I thought I was going to get squashed by that THING. Wait, where is it?"


So it seemed she had survived, but was trapped. That had to be workable at least, surely it wouldn't take long to free her with the knowledge his ticket back was still alive, right?

(Sorry if my posts are lame, but my toe is killing me worse and worse every second. This'll be my last one for awhile.)

Roger shifted the rest of the rocks that he could off of Regina, and asked her when he could see her face, "Are you alright?"

She nodded.

"I think my ass is a little roasted from the rocket being so close, and probably going to need a change of clothing to get all this dust and shit off of me, but otherwise yeah, I'm good. Thanks."


With the last of the debris moved, she crawled out of the hole they'd made for her.

"Right so uh ... where'd that thing go?"


((NP. I just got home so this will be my only for a tad while I catch up on other stuff and plug numbers into my records.))
