Re: Cleansing the Jungle (aguy) GMed by thetwo
Just as she finished recalling the existence of a merchant, the daemon stepped into the clearing. It was difficult to make out what he might think of two women, both of whom were still evidently aroused and one of whose naked skin glistened with the organic lubrication that had been rubbed on moments ago, but he completed the transaction with the minimum of comment, stepping back into the bush the moment the last denarii had changed hands. A quick glance at the forest where he had gone suggested that he was not only gone but properly Vanished.
Laura, who had hidden behind a tree as soon as she saw the apparently-male figure of the Merchant, came back out and coughed slightly. "Well that was, ah, fortunate?" She accepted Azira's brief kiss with a blush, then fumbled among her recovered gear for a small bag of coins. "Thank you, but I should really pay for my own clothes..."
She took the clothing but managed to close Azira's hand around 5 denarii. After she had somewhat reluctantly pulled the clothing on, the two set out deeper into the jungle.
With Azira's knowledge of the jungle and Laura's directions, the women quickly put more miles between themselves and their home. As they went, Azira noticed an oddity: the further they went from the human settlement, the less sign of dangerous beasts she saw.
While Azira was pondering that, she was perhaps not paying quite enough attention to the jungle. She was brought back to earth when the ground gave way under her feet, revealing what appeared to have been solid jungle floor to actually be a thing layer of sticks and leaves over a pit. Azira didn't have time to scream a warning or even leap out of the way. She was already falling, and barely had time to reach out and grab hold of a root on the far edge of the trap.
It wasn't a very big root. Certainly not large enough to hold, for example, an adult woman and all her gear. Not for more then about a second. It was still enough time for the blue-haired warrior to get a look at the pit and choose her landing spot.
Azira tried to take in everything at once. Laura had already reached the pit's floor. The fall, which otherwise might have broken bones, was itself broken by a pool of murky water. Which instantly splashed up around the brunette, and didn't go back down. Azira barely had time to realize that perhaps the pool hadn't been water when the scholar let out a shocked yelp and started thrashing around. Trying to thrash around. The 'pool' was now solid enough to hold her in place. And another lump of greyish slime had already rolled out of another nearby pool, moving towards the unlucky woman.
Having learned from her companion's experience, Azira aimed for a small patch of dry land and jumped away from the wall just as her root gave way, landing with a grunt on the edge of a larger and darker pool. She barely had time to draw her sword and wonder if a sword could injure such a creature before two slimes were almost upon her, one grey one like was attacking Laura, and a larger and darker one that was starting to give off a faint purple glow...

Encounter roll: terrible pit trap.
Perception(Azira): ???
Perception(Laura): Failure.
Grapple (Slime1): auto-success
->Laura is grappled
Submission hold (Slime1): 15+30 = 45 v 47 = 27 + 20 -> Failure!
