Also yes, I played DS2 a little again yesterday. My spear-equipped, faithful priestess epicly failed against the Royal Rat Authority like seven times. I was like "How can I not do this!? I had no problem whatsoever with this guy before!".
I figure the problem was that I didn't lock on to him and had to poke my spear in his general direction, hoping to hit him. That, and innocent little Stuffie had a drinkie-winkie or two before playing. :X
