It's my first game and entry into the saga/series. So far it's pretty nice on characters, graphics, cutscenes and story. Combat is a bit awkward though. I'm basically no fan of many different kinds of multi-hit-combos, plus the hit-and-dodge mechanics feel kind of stiff and hard to do for me. But then again, I only started playing today, maybe I will get better at it.

I played the early Tales and still love them to death (Symphonia and Vesperia), and like the few ones from more modern ones I played (Graces, Xillia 1 and 2), but I still find the older ones better as they were not quite so intense in the combat part. And, you know, the characters. Presea from Symphonia being a particular favorite cos little girl with a fuckhuge axe does cute things.

Also this thing for raisins.

Also yeah, unfortunately Berseria is the weakest entry IMHO of the Tales franchise.

It is? Some reviewers on Steam mentioned it to be a good start. And at that reduced price, I just couldn't resist.
Then again, I have no idea about the whole saga, story and stuff that comes with the franchise.
