Ah, I haven't been able to interact with that for a while, because ever since it started getting harder to use your card directly on DLsite, I've been using my card to buy points and then buying things with points instead of using my card directly. You can't earn points if you use only points to buy the product. Been that way for years, so nothing changes for me it seems. Shame it cuts everyone else off.

The reason given mentioned abuses of the system, but viviON getting control might also have something to do with it.
Second reason seems more likely. How the hell would you even abuse that system? Unless they mean abuse like just filling your review with random gibberish and submitting it to get points. Which I suppose could work, but seems like it would get noticed and caught pretty quick.

Reading the ratings other Japanese give for games, I think you're not supposed to say mean things. They're always at least moderately positive reviews. The idea isn't to tell you "which game is good" but more like "which game has features you might like".
Americans give negative reviews to anything they didn't love.
DLSite realizes they need people to add games just as much as they need customers to buy those games, so they don't let you post reviews that are too mean.
