RPG [空想ドロップス / Daydream Drops] Ice Crystal Labyrinth / 氷晶の迷宮 (RE182068, RJ182068)

Re: [空想ドロップス] 氷晶の迷宮

Guarding increases your roll bonus, avoiding decreases it. I just spam guard until my roll bonus is maxed out then attack with a 120+ roll every turn.

Re: [空想ドロップス] 氷晶の迷宮

Magic's good if you need to just do some damage to finish them off, while not getting any good rolls. Other than that, seems less powerful/useful than attacking :/

Re: [空想ドロップス] 氷晶の迷宮

Personal knowledge so far. Mostly, this applies to both sides of the battles.

First/Second action position in a fight depends roughly on the damage dealt that turn; the side who does more overall damage attains first move for the next turn and vice versa. If no damage is dealt or taken, the turn order remains the same. Healing seems to count against damage taken too, and can thus manipulate turn order.

The Attack command does damage depending on STR and increases CON bonus, but the defender can potentially stop the attack dead and Counter for full damage depending on the ratio of CON between attacker and defender. Holding down the button (up to 2 extra levels) increases damage dealt, CON bonus and all-around effectiveness, but Counters will hurt that much more.
When second, the command for Attack turns into Counter. If the attacker does not choose Attack, Counter will automatically perform an Attack (guaranteed to hit, unless Avoid) roughly at the power of a normal Attack. Failed Counters make the defender take full damage with no harm to the attacker.
Some enemies like Kobolds and Goblins scare easily and an All-Out Attack (max charge) is guaranteed to prompt an Avoid.

The Magic command does damage depending on INT(!) and decreases CON bonus, but it will always hit (unless Avoid) regardless of current CON. As stated, best used by the player when the enemy has a sliver of health remaining such that the loss of CON will be irrelevant anyway. Can be held up to 1 extra level for greater power and CON loss. Enemies who focus on Magic basically turn the fight into a damage race.

The Guard command reduces damage taken based on VIT and increases CON bonus. Damage can be reduced to 0 this way, but Guarders can't dodge or counterattack.

The Avoid command is guaranteed to dodge an incoming attack, but decreases CON bonus. Holding down the button allows fleeing, but the player probably needs an overly high amount of CON to successfully run away from opponents worth running away from.

DEX adds a flat amount of CON each turn.
AGI reduces the CON penalty for choosing Magic or Avoid, apparently.
If at any time the stacking penalties cause a combatant's CON roll to go below 0, further bonuses/penalties are ignored and the combatant is stunned for the turn.

I still haven't tried out the Active Skills that can be bought somewhat later in the game. They seem to require a particular order of command inputs...

I've been wondering about the combat mechanics a bit. Does anyone know of any reason to ever guard instead of avoid? So far I don't think I've ever failed to successfully avoid, no matter how poor the roll, whilst guard will still sometimes let small amounts of damage through. Also, how does magic compare to physical attack/counter? I've found very few magic boosting equipment, so have used it minimally, but most of the time it seems to allow the enemy to hit me alongside my own attack. I'm trying to figure out if I should be doing anything more advanced than merely spamming avoid until I get a good roll, then attacking/countering.

Avoid decreases the CON value, and a high CON value is required to successfully perform a power attack (by holding the up arrow down) or to escape from battle.

Also, deadly attacks by enemies can cause cause substantial amount of damage when defending, and successive dodge means you are more likely to get a negative CON and make yourself open to enemy attack.

Magic attack is imo far more powerful than melee attack. On my second playthrough I mainly used magic and OHKO'd most enemies. Unlike melee attack, a charged magical attack cannot be dodged (even though MC can dodge magic attack) and cannot be counterattacked even when you get a bad roll. The only time a magical attack will fail is when you get a negative CON value, but that is quite a rare occurrence.

Unfortunately, one of the town NPC late in game teaches you new combo techniques that made the whole battle system a moot point. The attack combo kills most stuff in your 2nd turn.

Update:

So the Dev hasn't abandoned this game after all, and the bonus contents are still coming

How to go to slum zone?
There is a guy who rejects MC to go in slum.

Just progress in the story by clearing more of the dungeon.

Anyway, for 1.10... where is the additional scenario after you clear the new fire dungeon?

The developer blog is vague on this also, but I eventually figured it out from what it says there. Apparently, the guy under the bar is telling you where to find the answer (not that that help much when this game doesn't hook properly). He is pointing you to a book in the slums. (I assume you know which one.)

The book says:
「捨てられた……クマ……………の隣で………………冒険者……証を……掲げ………」(These essentially translate to "Discarded, Bear, Next to, Adventurer, Proof, Show"). If you can't figure it out from that, the answer is in the next spoiler:
Use the blue card you got at the end of the tutorial dungeon while standing to the left of the discarded teddy bear in the slums.

The game looks fun but I cant seem to find the version that came out this year.

If anyone's still expecting more content, the Dev's blog has disappeared. I guess the circle is dead. RIP.
