ACT Ci-En Active [えのきっぷ / Enokippu ] くノ一牡丹 II / Kunoichi Botan II (RJ01027690)

Might be woooshing here, but it's the game he stopped doing for the original Kunoichi Botan. He was doing Liebe-chan, took a break from it to do a "small" game which in turn turned into his next big game instead (Kunoichi Botan), then he never came back to it. Me and at least some others were afraid the same thing happened again with Kunoichi Botan 2 when he started working on yet another small game as a break from it... luckily, he obviously did go back to KB2 after finishing Sol Rui After Mini.
this liebe game has a demo?

Unfortunately no. However you can view the progress Enokippu made on it from 2017 and earlier on Twitter. Back then, it was going play like a spritual successor to Red Collar but in RPG Maker MV and with a lot more clothing customization and other content that we see in Kunoichi Botan II. Head over to Media under Enokippu and scroll down a bit till you see images of Liebe. I'm attaching an image of what it looked like during development.

If Enokippu does come back to Liebe, I do hope they keep a lot of the same ideas as before. There's a certain charm and cuteness to the older games that I'm going to miss but KB2 sort of became what Liebe was before, based in japan rather than light novel fantasy (Enokippu was really into goblin slayer and the priestess girl while developing Liebe).

I missed red collar and was sad when this was essentially dropped. not that theres anything wrong with botan, but I like my combat erotic to last longer then just 1 climax.

I find both Crimson Colosseum and KB to be amazing games, some of my favorites within the hentai game space, but I do agree with you. Luckily, going by the demo, this will be rectified in KB2!

I wonder if much of that's left to do is just animation side of things. He had done a lot of the work couple years back regarding maps, sprites, and setting before pivoting to Solrui ~after mini~. Live2d can be a big boon in enabling animation reuse with different assets

Turns out he has A LOT more he wants to animate and doesn't intend to reuse much from his previous works.

Latest month-end blog post shows off the work he's done animating Botan's rear, what with the myriad variations of outfits and accessories she can wear in this game. He even jokes how he's content to hammer out these variations at the expense of the bigger picture, so while he's having his fun progress towards actually finishing the development won't proceed much, if at all.

That said, I'm not going to criticise him if it means the end product has more polish than just about every other RPG in the DLsite catalogue.

On bright side, he has at very least outsourced the sprites to Atelier Choice or one of the two Princess Synergy guys so some work can be done in parallel. The variety of clothes does very much feel like what was intended for Liebe so I'm at least partially looking forward to dressing Botan up in a variety of cute outfits.

まぁ立ち絵の衣装差分は人に任せられる作業ではないので

The Spine 3d animations were originally outsourced, but the actual illustrations are a one man job. He's also learnt enought from his collaborator to do a lot of the animations on his own, so there's little to no parallel work being done.

I mean the map sprites. They definitely look like they're from the Princess Synergy devs with the way she moves and all.
