Why? I mean, you can if you want, but you can use your 1.6.3 save in 1.7.2, so... :confused:

For the unfortunate people like myself, the game refuses to load any past version's current save file and instead pulls out saves from 2015 for some reason. I do load from those saves, click on memories and return to the title but that doesn't do anything. So I normally have to play back up to the current version's content every update.

However this time around it seems like I can't even do that. I loaded up 1.7.2 and there are no saves at all. Yay..

You...do realize you have to actually move your TeechingFeeling1_tyrano_data.sav file from your old version's folder into the new version's folder...right? :confused:

It's not there. I even made a save and it's still not there.

Not in the previous version either.

Edit: Well I found the save I created but it's in another folder for some reason. If I take it out of there to put it in the game folder, I can't load from it.

Well regardless, I have to start again.

Unless the folder is set as read-only or something, I dunno where else it could be. It's always been next to the exe for me.

"TeechingFeeling1_tyrano_data.sav", try searching for the file or something.

Ancient versions of the game (earlier than 1.16?) stored the save outside the game folder. Ever since at least version 1.16, the save has been saved in the game folder itself, which is wherever you extracted it (since the game has never ever had an installer). I've used the same save from 1.16 all the way to 1.7.2, updating it along the way as I went, so you must be doing something wrong. I'm just not sure what. :(

I'm assuming my save files were never in the game folder and happened to be created elsewhere. It would explain the inconsistency whenever a new version was out to an extent. Hopefully it's fixed with this.

I wonder if you've been 'updating' by putting the 'new' game files into the same place as the old. I'm not sure what that would do, since it -should- just result in a shitload of erroneous files laying around, but...I really can't explain how your save could be saved anywhere but the main directory since the engine isn't programmed to do it any other way.

If you check libs.js, $.setStorageFile (the function that calls for the location of a savegame if savefiles are used, which this game does), you'll see that the directory for savefiles is: out_path + "/" + key + ".sav"

out_path is defined earlier in the code as the directory that the .exe or .app file is running from (or, if not run with .exe or .app, it ignores that and defaults to the current running directory). 'key' is defined as 'TeechingFeeling1_tyrano_data' (typo unintentional but too late to fix unless every single player wants to rename their savefiles manually), and then of course the .sav extension.

The code literally doesn't know how to access saves that aren't within the game directory. :confused:

X > X2 > Teaching Feeling Folder.

The save would be in (X) for some reason and would only save/load from there. I don't quite understand it but I placed the game folder in X and that seemed to fix it. It loads saves from the game folder now.

Also, I did search for the file and only found the new one I made. It's okay. I don't mind too much starting again. The only issue is that it's going to take a while getting all the clothes back.

Seems like new content in 1.7 is somewhat on the low side. I see new clothes, bits of new conversations, but nothing much (I read that the clothing system was also updated, but that the English patch already had that so I can't really judge it by that).

It's weird how the shop and closet have a new "gloves" section, yet there's only one set of gloves (unless I'm missing something?). Like, why add it at all just for one thing?

All in all, kind of a letdown (at least to me) for how hyped it seemed as an anniversary update. I expected at least one new scene or event.

Still a lovely experience, but someone like myself who's wasted hours playing it would get sick of doing the same thing over and over, so I plan on forgetting about it for at least half a year. Maybe by then there'll be enough stuff to make me wanna play again.

1.7 is one of the smaller updates, yes. Do note that 1.7 is not the anniversary update, however, as Ray fell behind on development and had to push back the anniversary release. There is still a new outfit with a new scenario plus two new H-scenes that we've already seen him working on during his livestreams, so it's not like the new content doesn't exist, it's just not finished yet.

No, you're not missing anything with the gloves. More gloves will be added in the next release. If anything, that there's a gloves section just goes to show that 1.7 was supposed to have a lot more than it actually did.

the hype is real for this game even if the update was small. i just think its great he puts so much effort into the game. can't wait to see the final version of it someday.

What do you guys think Nephy's metal?
I mean Silvie is silver.
Aurelia is gold (aurum)
Ferrum is well... ferrum (iron)
But Nephy is... i guess quicksilver (mercury)? Cos of irregular pace and attitude.
