Any theories on what I am doing wrong to get this error? I un-rar'd the game in Japanese locale. It appears to be asking me why I don't have this weird sub-folder under Graphics (to which I would love to reply, "I don't know, it's your game, not mine...").

I would say that very probably you are missing RPGMaker XP'S run-time-package (RTP) installed onto your system. And that's the engine this game uses.

Dang, I thought I had it installed already, but I had installed the VX by mistake. You're the man, thanks !
