Re: In today's news...

For some reason, for the past week, every time I see the word 'funny', I think it's 'furry' for a few seconds. o_O
ANYWAYS.
Yes, that priest need to go to the furry farm... I MEAN funny farm.

Re: In today's news...

I think that's a bit unfair, showing gay porn. I bet showing most standard porn would manage to make a church congregation cry.

Also it shows me once again that people are scared of, and hate, what they don't understand. And this makes me upset.

By showing this video he is creating illogical hate by saying "this act is disgusting to you, therefore the feelings behind it must be wrong".

While I know this is obvious to you guys, I'd like to point out the parallels between this situation and this thread, and just the way that the internet treats the furry community in general.

Re: In today's news...

You've got to admit though that there's a kind of logic behind people hating furries. Furry characters are partly/mostly animal (herp derp Oni's intelligent!), and therefore people automatically assume that anyone who's into the 'furry scene' are also into sex with animals. While this isn't the case with most people (I hope anyway) there's always a small minority that proves the 'haters' right. Then theres the trolls (you know who you are, me included) who target furries for the reaction we get from them. They are also partly to blame because they shouldn't bite so much, if they didn't most people would just ignore them.

We need an empirical study on this subject.

I hate furries for the bastardization of fiction, where regular anthropomorphic characters have been grandfathered into the sexual fetish category, to the point where people don't differentiate between the two.

Substitute furries with lolicon and animal with child and nothing much changes, except that you're then one of the victims. As I said, people hate what they don't understand.

Re: In today's news...

I've actually talked to several "Furry haters" and as it turns out, the porn is perfectly fine with them, but what is not fine is the "NO I'M A FOX ON THE INSIDE, DONT RIDICULE ME" type of furry that also wears a fox-fursuit outside and tries to get people to pet him.

And honestly, that's just creepy, and often very childish. Those kind of people deserve all the hate they're getting. The rest of the 'furries' though, regular people who are not all that different from tentacle-rape fans, just with a different fetish.

And this may not be today's news, but the dutch government fucked up again, they went down because half the government was dealing with things behind the other half's back, and they lied whenever anything happened. They made their own partners seem incompetent("Never holds on to an opinion") with a smear campaign and then last Saturday, they did hold on to something, which combined with some international bullshit about sending more soldiers to afghanistan made them hold on to the promise made several years ago, the Dutch are leaving that place, and the government fell apart because the liars on the other side really wanted to stay.

Oh I never said I hated them for liking furry hentai, they're just fun to troll. And I get what you mean but I don't throw a shitstorm when someone accuses me of being a paedo because I like lolicon. I just jokingly turn around to them and tell them that I hope their sister's ass isn't as tight as the last girl and then let out a small laugh as if to make them wonder whether I was joking or not.

This is the kind of furry I loathe, I knew one IRL and dear christ was he a complete tool. Most of his characters was anthropomorphic wolves, and while that's not what I hated, because they were actually fairly good drawings. He was asked one day by some of the other students in our class in college would he have sex with a wolf and he said he would. As you would expect everyone that was in the video editting suite with him at the time laughed at him and he ran out of there crying. To top it off he told everyone in class that he bought a dildo shaped like a wolves penis. I'm unsure if he ever used it but when his father found it he repeatedly asked him why did he buy it and what did he do with it as if the very idea of his son owning a wolf-dick dildo was alien to him. From what I heard his father sounded as if he was in shock.

It's shit like that, and their projection that pisses me off. I've had an obsession with werewolvees and canines in general since I was a kid, but because of my connection to such characters, I've had people try to tell me I'm a furry.

I'm a furry? For playing starfox as a kid and for liking wolf movies? You should be neutered, you fluffy fruitcake

Thats the chart I show people usually, I'm 10%-40% ocasionally I'll entertain a 50/60 picture if I like the fetish involved anything above that starts getting odd. Realism factors in for me too anime/cartoon/video game characters usually get a pass because they don't look real. But on the fursuit subject that stumps me, I could care less what their thing is since I have my own wierd ones it just doesn't seem like a comfortable one. I've been in a school mascot costume before and after about 20 minutes I was a wreck, those things aren't made for average people to wear.....and survive.

Don't you just love how people in organized religion are just so open and accepting of other people?

. . . Where's Santa Christ when you need him . . .

Re: In today's news...

Recently, in a psych class of mine, the professor told us about a person she knew who teaches psychology at a catholic school, and they have to sign off on something saying that they don't deny the possibility of disorder being that the devil had entered the child and was changing their behavior.

Freaky eh?

....maybe I should read the article before throwing out my two cents.

*edit* Wow, I didn't think they'd pretty much come out and explicitly state that as the reason, I thought they'd have some more bureaucratic self-protection bullshit, although I did enjoy the point being completely destroyed in the next idea of "What about divorced parents and those who use birth control?"

Re: In today's news...

Looks like the church is getting in trouble everywhere then, just last week there was more evidence of priests and little boys doing stuff they aren't supposed to do.(The stereotype has to come from somewhere..)

This is almost as if planned timed just a week after the church denied access to a gay man because the man was open about his sexuality. So..What? Are the priests not gay after repeatedly going after little boys? That's not just being homosexual(legal) but also being a paedophile(Not legal), who are they to tell people they aren't allowed in? Especially if they are the exact same..Only worse.

I suggest we just abolish organised religion completely, personal/private religion can be a good thing, helps people get through their life(Especially when it's a shitty life), but organised religion is just a way to have bitter old men spread hate.
