The crusades were a response to the jihads. Only after all of north africa and most of anatolia were jihaded did crusades happen. And even then the crusades tended to be with less 'convert or die' than all those jihads.

It's a massive disaster happening, and it really needs to be stopped. Problem being that just stabilising Syria won't stop it. A lot of the fortune seekers are from africa, a lot from Pakistan and Afghanistan
It's a mess and it will keep on happening just because they are told that europe will give them free stuff.
But by now Europe is already on the path to civil war and genocides, which can only be averted by either all these immigrants being removed from Europe again really quickly, or by an heavily fascist/authoritarian regime taking over and suppressing any dissent with military force.
(The reason for this is the simple fact that all these fortune seekers are military age males. Estimates of 1.4(Up to 2.5 in some sections of Sweden and Germany) males for every female in the country means the entirety of Europe is heading for China post one-child policy style instability. Said instability comes from all those men just plain not having anyone that's even a potential date or marriage prospect. This leads to large groups of frustrated and militant males. China barely escaped massive civil war by being incredibly authoritarian about this issue and revoking their one-child policy. Europe won't have that)
It's likely to be the big issue of the time, since it has potential for massive disasters including but not limited to genocides, civil wars, balkan-style fracturing of countries, pogroms and Jew-hunts(Combine the anti-Jewish islamic immigrants with the fact that the most public figure (Soros) actively supporting the immigrants going to Europe being Jewish...), all the way up to military conflicts if some foreign country decides to try to put a stop to it
