What's new

I assume that you are referring to the partial translation of Latina. This is because the translation for the sub files has not been released yet. You can take the sub files from the untranslated game, and copy them into the same directory as the partially translated main SWF file. That should get you a fully operational, if not translated, game.
it worked thanks

Hey guys!
I am not able to find the latest game on the mega from the download section in the first post.
Was it posted somewhere else?

Sometimes the restrain command isn't available: why?

Only available when she's on her knees, she's on her buttocks after getting hit by the shockwave or unblockable attack and the high kick.
You can use the time stop spell for the roundhouse kicks and her jump attack, but not the restraint spell.

Moves guide. With a bit of luck players can finish her off without taking any damage. I've finished the game on story mode consistently without using the unblockable move or breaking her shield. No points in strength, magic, stun gauge increase and MP gauge increase. I even have time to strip her completely without resorting to the clothes shredder special move. Finishing story mode with no damage taken gives a bonus of 60p, which isn't much and is mainly to prove the concept works.

The game is slightly more difficult than the Overthrow remake, but much easier compared to Reimi.

The creative writing hack jobs will probably plagiarize the following for their "guide", which wouldn't surprise me. Information here will be kept up to date, not responsible for any outdated copy and paste jobs. I will not use the unblockable move, the only one where it's really required would be swallow turn if players are short of AP but have full mana.

Sword thrusts, slashes: Just-guard for no damage. After the thud, immediately left-click to attack. Do this enough times and her gauntlets and shoulder armour will be destroyed.
Kicks (High, roundhouse): Same as the thrusts. After the blocking sound effect, immediately left-click to attack. Her stockings will eventually be destroyed. Time stop available on all three kicks. For the high kick, the restraint move is also available during the time stop.
Double slash (Swallow turn): The only regular attack which still damages when blocked. When her shield is gone, this becomes a triple slash attack. Because it's a regular attack, she will block it. Although rare, the only way to avoid getting hit is to hit once to raise the block gauge, attack again to stun her and then either hit her two more times to make her dizzy or use the shockwave move to knock her onto her backside. When she gets up again, she'll change to a different move.
Leaping thrust move (Boar's Fang): Special attack, so she won't block with her shield when she's preparing it. The standard three hit combo to make her dizzy, or players can use the shockwave move which will hit her in mid-air and bring her to her knees. Left-click just after she leaps into the air and press the blue button (ability must be unlocked). The shockwave counter is a little buggy, so even if players get the timing right and meet all of the conditions the move won't trigger and the player will take damage.
Magic hawk: Magic move, so she won't block with her shield. Just-guard for no damage and thank her for raising your MP.
Multi-bird spell: Magic move. If blocked, it'll reduce available MP by a considerable amount. Hit her out of it with the three hit combo or knock her onto her backside.
Jump attack: Special attack. Can be just-guarded for no damage. Better yet, left-click on the frame where her legs form an N shape and use either the shockwave move to knock her out of the sky or the time stop move to nullify the attack completely. During the time stop, players can choose to damage her or do the time-stop rape move with the right skill level and AP points.
Teleport super move: Special attack. Just-guarding this uses up at least three AP points and it still hurts considerably when blocked. Since it has such a slow wind-up time, hit her out of it with the three hit combo or use the hit + shockwave move to knock her down.

Is there any way I can support JSK or the translators?
Is there any option to donate (like a Patreon) or any other way to help the development?

You can support JSK in the usual ways. Buying his wares. I have not heard one way or the other if he has a Patreon account or not. Someone who keeps up on JSK's blog could speak with more authority on that matter.

On the translation side, donations would not be appropriate. None of the individuals involved are making our translations for profit. We are all hobbyists of one form or another. Receiving compensation would likely alter our relationship to these games in a negative way.

I'm not against the idea of hiring a professional translator/ author to work on these games. It just seems like a difficult task to find someone who meets all the necessary criteria. First being a competent literary translator, then also having familiarity with the intricacies of reverse engineering Flash based content. I personally have dug around inside JSK's games enough to have a decent grasp of what is required on the technical side. But I lack the translation skills that would be essential to complete any said game translation.

I have read people commenting on JSK's blog about either wanting an English translation, or others willing to be hired to perform said translation. For the most part, these requests are ignored. Rarely, JSK will comment that he is unfamiliar with working in English, and that it is outside of his comfort zone. He also has a negative disposition regarding the current English releases of his games since they are all priated. I'm not sure what would be required to grab JSK's attention enough to get past his preconceptions and have a serious discussion on translations.

So long story short, buy his games. Paying for a translation is currently a can of worms.

Great to see this is not a crash-grabbing community, but actually a helpeful one full of inspiring people :)

I understand your statement, and indeed paying for a translation is not the most suitable option.
But we cannot let you translators without any reward, you guys do something most of us can't, and grant us many happy sessions.
If there's any way to thank you guys just let us know, we most certainly are willing to help.

And... regarding JSK's position about the English-Speaking community...
It is indeed sad to see he got a negative view about us. I can understand why... he lose his revenue due to piracy and such.
But it is we who made his games more popular around the globe, we gave him visibility and notoriety. We just need to show him this.
And that's why I was wondering if there was an option to we as a whole donate money to him, so that way we can clean our reputation towards JSK himself.

Anyway, for now I can see buying his games is the only option avaliable.
I'll do it. But if there's any other way to help just let me know.

(btw i'm a new member, so if I say something stupid pardon me)

This is posted in the first comment, prolly in the community guide as well, but if you're ok with using a debit card here's his works on DLSite English.

yeah, this artist is superb and has earned every cent he gets and more for his product. Back at the height of piracy and playsites this dude took a pounding on sales. I speculate that his sales in his own country were even affected, hence the three year hiatus. Can't really blame him for his grudge. Hoping that rift between consumer and developer heals sooner than later. Come to think of it, someone that can actually post on his blog should point out the fact that his one officially translated game (Cunning Girl) has about twice the sales of any of his other titles.

Exactly! This is what I mean, the english-speaking community has bought him most of the fame he currently has on the market.
And as you said, his officialy translated game (Cunning Girl) has 2x sales than any other of his titles in comparision.
So even if he loses some of his revenue because of piracy he still manages to get a decent ammount of profit.
That's why we should show him what we trully are, we are his loyal playerbase.
I just don't know how we will show this to JSK.

I've been playing his games since 2012, I saw through the years JSK has been making a lot of progress. You can clearly see the quality of his old games in comparison to his games now.
He certainly deserves more recognition and our support. But with his negative view towards us we cannot do much.

Anyway, buying his stuff its currently the best option indeed, but we probally should get a more efficient way to help him and clean our '' bad reputation ''.
