Re: JSK工房 Hgames Thread
Frankly, the stories in the JSK games matter little to me. I'm more into the amount of h-content found in the game, and there seems to have been a substantially larger amount in the last two games he has released. Here's hoping it will be the same for the next game he's making, even if he is going back to the same demographic as his older games...
P.S thank you translaters, you enhance the experience of the games greatly!c
This sounds like a contradiction to me. Could you explain that?
Like, really. I'm not being an ass, I just don't understand how if your biggest interest is the H-content, how does the translation improve it? Because the sex-text is all 80-90% copy paste from game to game IMO, only real differences being plot elements, which again, comes back to the primary question.
Personally, my biggest attraction for JSKI games is the variety in mechanics and the ability to always have at least one NOT an asshole/rapist option. And then if I like the characters enough, explore the other endings as well.
On an aside, the several people that have been talking back and forth on CoC...*kneels* I have been playing this way too goddamn much, y'all awesome for making it come to my attention. The games trademark is fetishes and appealing to a variety of tastes, but GOD DAMN, if the creator doesn't have SEVERAL nice stories in there too. I mean, I don't like extra dicks in my H content, especially not on the girl, but I ended up following one of the Herms storylines to completion, just because I really liked the character and story. I really think the fellas that refuse to even try the game are missing out, unless the more-or-less pure text is just unappealing to them, I get that.
Having maxed out my characters stats, I'll give some tips:
*Read between the lines on any button option. Some have popup windows on mouse-hover that explain them, especially items, but most you just have to guess from the text in them. While there is a comfortable amount of spectrum for most of the games story, allowing for various slider levels of Jackass vrs Saint, in general the rule is: The fewer options you have, the more radically polarized the choices are. If you only have two options, choose wisely, the difference between them could be relevant only to the current action, or it could completely end the current characters story for you unless you quick-load to undo it.
*Don't TAKE or EAT ANYthing, without saving first. Pretty much all the food in the game will at least change, at worst severely change AND add corruption, some or several parts of you. If it boosts a stat you want/need though, the change is random, so with a few loads you can get the stat and no changes.
*Physical changes DO make a difference. I'm not terribly sure on how deep or complex those changes/interactions are, but I know that interactions will have more or less options based on you. My specific example is that I remeber an option for one of the monsters disappearing when I forgot to load to undo a dick expansion I picked up sampling an item. I'm willing to bet some options only appear if you have certain aspects on you, altho I'm not sure because I've been trying to keep as 100% Vanilla human a character my first play through as possible, (altho I question if I can still call it 'first at this point, I have about 8+ save files now), So I can compare to a mutated one later.
*Use Explore->Explore for weak enemies to pump money and EXP. This is also the primary means of finding/unlocking pretty much every location in the game, although some that are 'places' require exploring specific locations.
*Perks become available relevant to your stats. GET SPEED FAST to unlock the Runner perk. There are some enemies you just flat can't beat without alot of beef, running is never a damaging choice unless it's explicitly a triggered fight, and 8/10 times it still is reversible or does no damage.
*Keep a back up save! You will often find that something subtle you did at one point, can mess with something later, but far more importantly, IT SAVES YOU FROM YOURSELF. I recommend, at the least, making sure you always have a copy of your dominant save on slot 3, in addition to slot 1. Or just avoid slot one altogether. I cannot even count anymore the number of times I have overwritten slot 1 when I didn't mean to, because I was clicking just a bit too fast.
*The girls/guys you meet earlier in the game are TYPICALLY no where near as deep as those you meet in higher level/deeper areas in the game. Even if the fetish/kink the character has/represents doesn't appeal to you, if you're at least mildly interested in the character themselves, consider where you met them. It will be a rough estimate for how much the character has to offer you, both in terms of story and benefits to your actual abilities. Some though, do have lasting interactions well into the late game characters/places/events.
*Time is of no consequence unless explicitly stated as such, and even then it often isn't anyway. I've gotten all the way up to and past 100+ days and things I encountered in the very beginning that seemed time dependent, still played out correctly when I resolved them later, now that that I have maxed out stats. If something seems time reliant, save to be safe, but move freely anyway because you're likely in the clear.
*The amount of lust you have matters. At ~30 it will be 'enough' to have sexual interactions with most things, and the higher it is, the easier it is for you to lose a battle to enemies that attack that stat instead of your HP. When exploring a new/high risk area, always try to enter it with as low of lust as possible. You can always have fun with the things after you bludgeoned their brains out to find all their friends behind them first.
*Pay attention to text combat, ESPECIALLY ANYTHING IN BOLD. If it's bold, it's an important thing that VERY likely could completely throw the fight for you if you don't take care of it, or observe its special conditions.
*There are key items in the game that allow you to improve your storage abilities at the camp.
-Spoiler'ish Tips- In order from top to bottom, of most helpful-vrs-least spoil
*Pay attention to button locations/amounts. You have 10 maximum locations for button options in the game. If you don't have all 10 under a certain tabs options, you likely can unlock more things to do, at least five usually, especially if all your available options aren't completely aligned from the left and right next to each other. These are often a good indication you can unlock some extra things, but the requirements for those buttons may be very unusual, require external events, or require you to change your body somehow.
*Explore the desert. Even if you have to run from every thing. There are at least two VERY helpful things to find in there.
*Explore repeatedly. Some places have low-chance encounters, some require MULTIPLE interactions, and some things require other events/items/characters/character-interaction-levels, to trigger or start. Remember that time is not an issue usually. Once you have a bunch of things, try rubbing them up against old places. You may find something new.
*There are Strength based perks to improve your item capacity, up to five items max
*Any 'Place' you discover will almost
always have a character with a sub-plot for you to persue, some have Multiple characters. Places are always good to explore for stat bonuses on top of the characters that you encounter there, and whatever bonuses they can give/you can unlock from them. Places are also good sources of Unique items that don't require combat, and therefore, are mostly stat independant.
*The Farm, a place discovered from normal exploring/Lake exploring, is a very useful early game stat farm. There are several characters to meet here, and just exploring can also give stats sometimes, although you usally want to Work instead if your goal is stats.
*The Weapon and Armor stash key items are both in the Town Ruins, discovered from Lake exploration, if my memory serves, but maybe the Ruins are in the Forest. The key Item for storing standard items at camp is instead in the Desert location, and doesn't require any combat, you simply have find and take it.
*Tel'adre, a City Place you discover in the desert, is filled with things. It is both excellent for characters, and stats. Don't be afraid to save up the 500 for life gym membership. Not only will you easily surpass that price in stat training, but several character interactions there will also charge the 10 gems too, even if they don't boost your stats.
