wait. does said translation pack work with the jp version of game? i know the auto translate technically exist for it but my shitty internet takes 5 min to translate and then it translate most stuff incorrectly.

also, do you guys keep up with the dlcs for the jp version? all the archives that existed seem to be deleted or privated.

If you give the master guide a read you'll find everything you need. All dlc needed to update Custom Maid Ultimate 2020 are in there. Up to date. Or you could use the updated Custom maid ultimate 2022 from nyaa but I haven't tested it and I don't know anyone who did.
The translation pack was obviously created for the japanese version. All scripts are pretranslated so you technically don't even need internet 99% of the time. If official translation exists it will be used. If not it uses Sugoi Translator with the offline translation model. It's just as good as DeepL machine translation. If no translation exists it will use live google translate. Live translation applies mostly to menu items

i love how i read the whole thing so many times (the dlc section) and never saw the hyperlink to the other note with links. now that is a dedicated ignorence... i hate my brain.

ooooh... i forgot to reinstall the translation pack... so that was the zip file i downloaded and then deleted... yikes... so i have been rolling with the auto translation from cmi... kill me...

hold up... deepl is bad tool for mass translation though... just putting it out there but you know how in google translation some times google will just convert the japanese word to romaji or leave it as is? that happens when google doesnt understand what is written and just does the above mentioned things so people can manually edit it. deepl though... deepl goes super sayin on it and just deletes that part. so at best, you have some parts missing in translation that dont matter like a person saying "aa... aano..." and such or at worse, it changes the meaning. deepl is good when it works and for small translation. though i am assuming the translation pack is well edited so... yeah, it would be no problem but thought i might just put that out there. i am going to install it though.

Translation pack only has minor corrections. Maids talking about their d*cks and such. It would be impossible to check every other string in there. SugoiTranslator was created specifically for VNs so it should do a decent job.

as far as i've use it, sugoitranslator while not perfect, is the next best thing to a actual person doing translation.
 
Is there any kind of guide to play the game with mods on linux? I've copy-pasted the working version with modpack and COM Modular Installer from my windows partition and loaded the game through wine, but it seems to load only the base game without uncensor, mods, etc.

You could ask on CM discord for guidance. I think there are a few linux players.
 
I'm having issues with the male uncensor not appearing and leaving an empty space even tho it was working fine at first, does anyone know where to find some help?
 
Hi would anyone know what mod would cause issues with facial expressions? I noticed that for my game, NPCs like Emma and other Extra maids' mouths won't move when they talk. Those hired maids do not have an issue

The mods I have currently installed are just what is in the 4.4 repack, as well as some mods that came with character presets. I tested removing the extra mods I installed, and still had the issue, so am assuming its one of the mods that were part of therepack

I've heard of this before but I don't think it's a mod causing this because there's nothing in the modpack that replaces official faces or that could conflict with them. It has to be a plugin. Does it happen all the time or at random times ? You could temporarily move mods outside of the mod folder and test. If nothing changes then the next candidate could be disabling i18nEx translation.

Hi, you're right. I just tried removing all mods and the issue is still there. I didn't choose any extra plugins to download than the ones in the guide, so that's weird. I just tested and it seems like its only with NPC maids and Emma, those that are not under the 'maid edit' list

I haven't tried disabling the translation yet but will try doing so as well... If it's really due to the translations though, then i would probably just live with it.. since translations are more important haha

It has to be a bug in one of the plugins that maybe someone will fix if the issue is reported on discord. I personally don't play the story so there's no way for me to notice or test these things and the old save I had is partly corrupted so it's not a good point of reference. I guess you could also try starting a new save and see how it goes. Iirc you should be greeted by Emma at the beginning of the game. If you used unsafe body mods before then it's not out of the question that the issue is now somehow embedded in the save data. If you never used mods before and this is a fresh installation then maybe this is just a transitory bug that was introduced at some point with an update.

Next you can try loading the game without any plugins by renaming winhttp.dll to winhttp_.dll. If the issue goes away then you could reinstall CMI and test without i18nEx. Then if all goes well you can reinstall i18nEx but don't install the translation pack.

Thanks for giving me the step by step. yeah its the translation pack that causes the issue. once i added it back in, the issue started.

So it works fine with basic i18nEx but when you add the translation pack the issue starts to occur ? That's interesting...
Next you can try adding back the translation pack but remove i18nEx\English\Script\[UnCategorized]\__npc_names.txt
This fix was suggested by the creator of i18nEx a while back and it was reported to solve the issue. See if it works for you.

Now why tf would that script cause such weird issues is beyond me. This needs some more investigation. I'll give you 2 more __npc_names.txt for testing. One exactly as it was extracted from the eng version and one after it was automatically recombined with the japanese machine translated script. Or you can live without it because it will be machine translated anyway.
For now this is the original extracted from eng version. The other one will have to wait until I recompile the translation pack again.
Please see if it works

Hi, is there a way to unlock all the 'Life Mode' events right away?, Maid Fiddler is very useful to unlock everything else without much hassle, but I haven't found a way to unlock those other events easily, I know it's not difficult to unlock them but given the sheer amount of combinations it'd take a fairly amount of time to unlock them all, I was just wondering if anyone would know a way to unlock them quickly, like a hex edit or a mod, it's probably not possible but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.
