Maybe it's a Tear Ring Saga parody that would explain the resemblance to Fire Emblem.

If you like Fire Emblem you should give Tear Ring Saga a try, it's so much like Fire Emblem, Nintendo sued... The reason for it's similarities is that Tear Ring Saga was made by Shouzo Kaga, the creator of Fire Emblem.

tear ring saga puts fire emblem 4 to shame for difficulty.

that is a hard fucking game

i havent gotten very far in this game, either. i got to stage 2 and decided to redo my character, then couldnt decide what i wanted.

i think im probably gonna finally settle on overall growth+, def+3, mag -3, ninja class, and 20% chance for double action.

.. but i'll probably change my mind again

Class wise you don't need to worry, once you finish each map you go to this... Base? Map? Where you can buy from various vendors. The line of vendors on the top right corner behind the counter sell class marks.

Edit: Super important to know. The one vendor all alone in the top-right part of the map, to the left of the class mark vendors, sells unlockables to the base itself. It doesn't require gold but something else I couldn't figure out. By buying her unlocks (Like [Moonrunes 1, Moonrunes 2, Moonrunes3] and etc, you can unlock better vendors who can sell better things like better weapons in the base, and side-missions to get more allies.

NEW save file:
- All characters are all LVL 40 and EXP 10 (CE)
- Before final missions!
- CE (money, stats)
- Captured some bosses!

Edited: playing final chapter. oh man it's so hard even with this save file...
Man....

Look at the madness of these status point of the final boss on the final chapter!!!
Damn it! This game is harder than original FE!
To be honest, even I, am really shock about this madness. Even though I use CE so much.
Please understand why I have to use CE, but I am really shock to see this...

Final chapter has:

Final boss status:
All status are all 50! (except movement)
Bonus 25 due to the item she has!
Level 50

All bosses had been captured from the previous chapters, of course, stronger!

This might sound like a stupid question, but, do you get that crystal from somewhere? Or am I misunderstanding something? I am not that far into the game and i am already afraid i am missing all the h-scenes.

You get that crystal from the very start. So your MC should have it in their inventory.

Even I use CE so much to go that far, I failed....
I really don't know why they made such a very hard boss like that.

meh, you get an upgraded thief, steal most of the items, give the status decreasing item in the final shadow guild shop that costs 99999 gold to murder her

just a note for your future sanity:

if you find the exp value, add it to the list

then right click it and click browse this memory region: you can often find all the characters stats right near it. saves time in having to search each individual stat

Thanks a lot, man, but ya must hack status, not exp. Because the address of exp and status are totally different!

Edited: Now I understand why I couldn't hack some status of some character.

You can get more via gambling house and the casino place I think, but where do you use them? I never found out so I sold them too.

I talked to the left most lady in the "camp". The one that is on her own. I think I did upgrade something beforehand, but can't tell you what.
