Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"You'll find you can do exactly what I'm telling you to. Get. Out. This house... You're not welcome in it, I wont have you in it, and neither would She so unless you want to Die, get out," Giselle said softly while the air started to grow cold... unnaturally cold. Soon their breath was fogging and she was looking to the windows, which had started to frost over. "You need to leave, right now. I already told you I wont be responsible," she said, moving the weapon away from Loran and backing further into the room while the wind seemed to howl around the house.

Giselle's eyes flashed down at the sprite in the armored okami's breastplate waving at her. She was thinking about waving back, but didn't as she felt out for Hecate again, wondering what she was up to, and if she could feel her.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

The man seemed like he still didn't want to listen. I don't want to intrude... but if she's hunting something unnatural here, I don't want to leave her to that hunt alone But there was slight problem. Hecate was coming in, Fast, and Hard. Wisps were rising from the floor and the air had gotten incredibly cold. The only emotion in her heart was open aggression. She was coming like a wrecking ball.

The Sprite noticed as well, the little fairy crying out to run, before the entire side of the house was cleaved, the fairy of all things saving well, Everyone as a wall of light blazed up around them, banishing enough of the blade made of shadows to stop the being cut clean in two. Hecate wasn't trying to eat, she was killing the people in her house.

Giselle was left on the floor after the blow, Hecate standing on the far building, still more human looking then before, her arm retracting back in towards her body before she crouched down, and inhaled. The rush of air, and the necrotic energy in this place that poured into her mouth was immense, bunching herself to leap, Diana hanging from her other hand limply, trying to break her grip before she was choked to death.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

When the okami man spoke up, Giselle wanted to smack him and tell them to leave. However, she wasn't going to be able to do anything of the sort, as she felt Hecate again, coming in fast and hard. Even as the little fairy told the okami and the human men to both run, Giselle's eyes narrowed as she prepared herself, the air beginning to run colder as she stood there.

Giselle was thrown to the floor as the fairy saved them all with a blinding flash of light, as a shadowy blade from Hecate she assumed, cleaved through the house. Giselle got up quickly, and spotted Diana in Hecate's other hand, squirming to get free before she was killed. Preparing herself for a fight, Giselle moved up to the plate, ready to try and go toe to toe with Hecate as she fought to free Diana from her hold. "LET HER GO HECATE!" Giselle cried at the monstrous part of Kylie, though she still had love in her tone, because no matter what Hecate was, she was still a part of Kylie. "GIVE HER BACK!" she then cried, flaring her powers Melora had given her to try and break Diana free.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Hecate let Diana go, the assassin, tumbling onto the balcony Hecate was standing over, drawing a shuddering breath before roaring all that inhaled energy, a wave of necrosis tearing through the air as a shockwave oblilterating the rest of the second flood of the house, all save the sealed door which took the hit in stride, protecting that room. What would have killed Giselle was soaked up by her bag, drawn in, swallowed, suppressed, and then Hecate leapt across the gap, slamming both of them down into the street where the Okami and the Man had started a fight with a horde of ghouls when they saw she couldn't just run.

Giselle 18 Hecate 16 hit.
Hecate 5 Giselle 13 Miss
Hecate driven back.

Landing and rolling, Giselle parried a blow from hecate, the scythe solid and managed to strike her hard with her own. But she was unable to cut her, the wound just pulling through her smokey body and shoving her into the street. The paladins were buying them time and her chance to calm Hecate had passed when they'd mistakenly wandered into the house. Her arm pulsed with melora's brand and the frost in the air curled around her blade. She could pull the moisture from the air to help her.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle was glad Diana was set loose, and she prepared herself for the coming retaliatory attack from Hecate. The blast of necrotic energies that came at her frightened Giselle so badly that she nearly ran, but she knew that it wouldn't do to run. The bag she'd put the teddy bear in with the coin soaked up the blast it seemed, dissipating the magical energies in it, though it did blow away the entire top half of the house it seemed. Then, Hecate jumped and slammed down, knocking both of them to the ground below, with Giselle grunting in pain as she tumbled and rolled upon impact.

"Ugh... dammit Hecate, not going to make this easy are you," Giselle mumbled to herself as she got up, quickly bringing her naginata to bear as she parried one of Hecate's blows.

Feeling the moisture in the air as she and Hecate traded blows, through the symbols of Melora branded onto her arm, Giselle did just that, and pulled everything she could, to try and use it to slow Hecate's movements down enough to allow her to make contact with a few blows of her own, nothing too life threatening, but definitely strikes with power behind them.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle 9 Hecate 11 Miss
Hecate 8 Giselle 8.
Giselle 5/6 hecate ?/?

Giselle pulled on the moisture, and it boiled around her blade, taking a moment to form, spiraling in tight swirls before she tried to use it to slow Hecate down, which was good, but her initial attempt failed as a sheet of ice formed only for Hecate to leap onto the building's wall on her left and swing her arm again. She struck her, the impact spinning Giselle while Giselle spun the naginata around her leg and kicked it down, striking Hecate enough to avoid the followup and backing her off again.

They'd both taken a little damage in the clash, but Hecate's body seemed to be solid in some places, or more precisely, that she was fixing whatever damage was done by draining, like Giselle had seen Kylie do before. But kylie had had to use living things, Hecate seemed to be able to use any ambient energy, even break down non living matter like she was now, turning bricks to dust, the dust swirling into the wound as she hissed.

Giselle 16 vs 17
Hecate 20 vs 13
Giselle 3/6

Giselle tried again only to have Kylie's shard evade her again, and punish her for it, spinning along the ground before bringing her arm up, the scythe catching Giselle's guard and throwing her into the wall before kicking Giselle into the street, causing her vision to swim.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle grunted as Hecate jumped onto the wall nearby as she formed a sheet of icy water, and Hecate swung her arm out and caught Giselle, and Giselle spun and swung her naginata to avoid the follow up attack from Hecate. Giselle saw Hecate healing herself quickly, too quickly for her liking, as this meant that she effectively could never outlast her really... which was worrisome when she thought about it.

Giselle summoned up her watery powers again but was again denied, as Hecate swung her scythe again, and caught Giselle's naginata thankfully, but the strength flung Giselle into the wall, where she tumbled down to the street again, shaking her head. "D-Dammit... gotta stop her... somehow," Giselle mumbled to herself as she struggled back to her feet, and then... something inside of her snapped, and Giselle unleashed her own darker side, remembering what Diana had said before, and feeling that this was as good a time as any to do so.

Giselle formed balls of water around Hecate's hands and feet, where she hardened them slightly and began filling them with more water to weight her down, forming more on Hecate's back and neck, and as many other places as she could, before she swung her naginata at Hecate's head, using the flat of the blade to strike her hard enough to hopefully knock her out as she let her internal rage go, knowing that the blow wouldn't knock Hecate out despite hoping for it. Giselle would quickly follow up with another quick strike aimed at her left side, and another stab, aimed at her right shoulder.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle Nat 1
Hecate Nat 20

Drawing on her own darkness, to set it loose, the power rocketed out of her control as the water she summoned took the shape of a serpent, biting and tearing. But it went sideways as surged and exploded, showering the area in shards of ice, several slamming into her only for Hecate to combo her, several heavy blows that sent her flying out into the street and down for the count.

Her last sight was of... the sprite, snarling? On her chest at Hecate, and Hecate actually backing down, fleeing away before she passed out.

When she woke back up, she was in Cosimo's arms, the Pirate walking her down a sewer tunnel. Vos was carrying Diana. Reckless Lass, but Impressive. That one of... you know? he asked while they walked.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Watching as her watery balls went out of her control completely, as she watched, and formed into... a serpent, made of water. It turned to ice, as it flailed about, before it shattered in and explosion of icy shards. Hecate made her move on Giselle, who was unprepared for the power with which Hecate came at her, and grunted in pain, as she was struck, once... twice... and then a third time.

Giselle slammed into the ground, groaning in agony as her vision swam, fading quickly, but not before she saw the sprite from before standing atop her chest, snarling at Hecate, who amazingly... backed off. Then... she fainted....

...

When she came to, Giselle smelled... shit... meaning she had to be in the sewers again. She groaned and tried to raise her head, before just going limp again. "O-Ow... gods be damned... t-that hurts," Giselle groaned softly. "I... I can't control this power... and I'm not strong enough to beat her. If I c-can't control it Cos... then I can't bring her back," Giselle then said, sniffling as tears formed in her eyes and she began to cry.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Terra was talking about that. She's more then willing to help while we look about. Those paladins looked out for you in the end. Besides, Kylie's always been a sucker for the carrot instead of the stick. What do you know about these different parts? he asked, while Giselle would see Gale standing at the end of the tunnel, looking worried and a little banged up, but ok. She was holding something.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"I... would appreciate any help Terra could give me on that front. And... I think I can tell you. But once we're in private. I'd rather no prying eyes or ears see or hear what I have to say," Giselle said, sighing softly as she wiped her eyes, though she was still sniffling a bit.

When she saw Gale, Giselle's mood brightened considerably and she smiled at her. "Are you okay honey?" Giselle asked Gale as they approached.

Once they were in private, Giselle filled Cos, Diana, and Vos, all in on what all she knew and felt from each part of Kylie, letting Gale help with that when needed. She would leave nothing out.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

They went back to the Rose, everyone clearing the hell out of the way of Gale since she led the way with Cosimo right behind. As Giselle filled them in on what she Did know, Gale filled in the rest. Each of these individual pieces knew more about the inner workings of Kylie, then kylie did. Since Vos and the others heard the emotions and drives that Giselle could sense in the shards, Gale explained their purpose, using the same classroom they'd been in before, drawing something of a diagram.

She drew, Herself in white on black, and drew out where Hecate was inside herself. Right in the core, just below her ribcage, with tendrils rolling out through the rest of her body and started writing. Hecate is our base, she supplies all the energies that Kylie, that we all need to keep up. She wraps herself in layers, if you draw her out, she's vulnerable but innocent. Behind the left eye, she wrote Ichor. Ichor is... a byproduct. She lives to learn. Alchemy and poisonmaking, anatomy. She studies us, and everyone else. She's attentive, Dangerous, and ruthless. She will kill because that is what she has learned. Aria is her sister. And Gale kept going.

Even Cosimo shut up and listened.

Luna and Sola serve a dual purpose. They are Joy and Movement. And they are here. she continued, drawing lines that drifted around all of Kylie, but leaving their hearts at the crown of her head. One is contemplative, the other is not, they exist together with Luna guiding Sola as they dance.

The next was Gale herself. Gale placed herself in the right hand. I am Skill. All the practice, all the drills. That's me. she wrote, smiling. I'm the third oldest, only Hecate and Sola are older then me. before she moved to the left hand. Aria is here, she's balance, calm, and she harbors life. Idris however is Vitality, and she's here. putting Idris in Kylie's right eye. She doesn't... well. That's her entire purpose, she's what woke up when all the seals fell. She's the baby but she's strong. Until then we all had to dance around Kalt... which... is really hard. Kalt spends most of her time sleeping. And she's right here. Kalt was put right behind her heart, where hatred rested. She's.... She's hatred. That is ALL she is. She's the monster that haunts her nightmares, she's the beast that comes out for the worst of times. But... she also keeps us all alive when everything goes wrong. She called in all the energies, and she's the one who broke us all apart. We would have all died with the children without her. She drives Kylie to be Better. Then there's the derp trio. Conscience, that little voice in your head, Kylie has three. They didn't wake up until after Kylie was older. but they're Chaos, Order, and Will. Kina, Kuna, and well, Kylie. Kina and Kuna are special, they don't have patterns, they react to what's going on, Kylie decides, we all dance, the only one who doesn't listen to Kylie, is Kalt. if Kalt speaks, she has to overpower all three, which is... very difficult anymore. Kalt only listens to Kina and Kuna because they sing songs to her. They sing Giselle's songs, but they used to sing Mom's, and Cosimo's. Help her sleep, let her rest. she explained. Kalt never forgets, anything, when Kina sings, she remembers pleasure, and dozes. Because that is Kina's purpose. When Kuna sings, she remembers peace, love, and she sleeps. It is Will, Kylie, that cannot be allowed to Sing. Because she sings a song from the Isles. She sings the banshee's song and Kalt wakes up. before now she was the only one who could Choose to wake up Kalt, and Idris keeps her in line. She remembers Idris because Idris lays with her, calms her, let's her focus on things other then her pain. Now she's loose and on her own. If you want to bring us back together, we need Hecate to pull us back into her body. If you want to bring Ichor and Kalt in line, we need Aria and Idris, and they're tied up with the children. So we need other shards who can take up that burden but only after we've healed enough that her body wont just die without them. she explained, giving everyone a full picture of what was going on right now.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle let Cosimo continue to carry her as they reached the Rose again, where once they were in private, she launched into her story. She watched as Gale drew her diagram of the shards and their individual purposes, after she mentioned everything she knew of the entire matter. Giselle watched and read all Gale wrote down, taking every bit of it in as she looked around at Cosimo and the others from time to time.

"So... is Kalt the one that drove Kylie to go out after the northern minotaurs? Anger and hatred at what they were doing to people," Giselle asked Gale curiously when she was done writing her explanations. "And... I may know of one other thing that could take up the shard's cause in their stead. But... it would require Delilah to be here, or someone who knows blood magic like her. Someone tied close to Kylie, y-you I mean, could have their essence temporarily put into Kylie's body to protect it and keep it safe, though it would only work for a short time most likely... probably just a day or two at best, before the person is forced to pull back to their own body. I... remember sis talking about forbidden blood magics and the like, like that, which could be done by really powerful mages who had access to those kinds of texts," Giselle went on to say, shrugging as she suggested something quite dangerous.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Being asked about the minotaurs, Gale sighed softly. Which was very soft because it was silent. That was a joint decision. Luna Decided it would only get worse, And that we should Move, we all agreed and yes, Kalt was awake for the altercation. When Kalt and Idris move together we all commonly fall behind them. We know there's nothing they can't accomplish together. This all sounds like nonsense I'm sure. Kylie we... we're all one person. She wrote, rubbing her temples and hurling an eraser across the room. Everyone is confused because we're NOT one person right now.

After that was spelled out while everything made sense it was obvious WHY they were all so messed up. They weren't SUPPOSED to be this seperate. Even when Giselle had seen them split before, even when they were far apart they generally all had the same agenda. Working together, now they were all chaotic and following their purposes alone. No balance to any of them.

When Giselle mentioned using another person to help keep Kylie alive while Idris and Aria left, she shrugged. Very, VERY dangerous. Our body isn't human, they might be swallowed and destroyed. And Delilah is far away. I could arrange several priestesses, try something. You'd need to be there. she said, Gale nodding. Hecate to, Wee Jas arranged us to be broken without her. Idris and Aria cannot leave and no one else can enter without Hecate. I found Will Giselle, I can't say where she is, there's a creep in red using city guard to try and catch her. she continued, looking like this mess was giving her headaches. Shooter is Okami.

Cosimo was still silent, reading everything, and Rereading everything. You're all grounded. he finally said, Gale slamming her forehead into the blackboard.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"I see... well, I guess that makes sense that you'd all need to really agree on it, even then," Giselle said, nodding before sighing when Gale wrote what she did about having another, or others, take up the burden for Idris and Aria. "Hmm... well I need to get through to Hecate somehow then. Gods, if only I'd gotten those oranges off the ship. You love oranges, so she'd probably just eat them right out of my hand if I had them. Packed a whole damn bag of holding full of them. And, the guy that made Hecate so angry, he needs to be dealt with. Cos, can you kill him? He was obviously Amaranthine," she went on to say before pondering about the whole shooter being an okami.

"Hmm... I've only seed two okami since I got here. Vos, and that one from earlier when I was fighting Hecate. And I don't think it's either of you," Giselle said, tapping her chin as she tried to think of a way to track down that shooter.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Mmm I've met the other one. He was a gladiator slave and won his freedom. Seems like a good soul but there's something off with that fairy friend of his. Cosimo said while Gale perked up at the mention of oranges, pawing at Giselle's belt for the sack. Which wasn't there. She pouted until Cosimo chuckled and threw her one.

Oranges best fuds. she scribbled, nibbling hers while everyone seemed to be thinking on things. Need to know what you want Giselle, if I hunt the killer I can't help with Hecate. If I help you with Hecate I can't help with the shooter. she added, tilting her head. And that's if you don't want to spend a couple of days getting a feel for That. Terra said, pointing at her arm, Gale nodding. Alot to do it seems. Gale added to the MESS of writing on the board while Giselle felt a pulse from the amulet in the bear.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"Mmm, sounds like he could be helpful then probably... as could his sprite friend. Hmm... either way, we should keep an eye on him some so in case we end up needing his help I think. Besides, any help we can get is a plus for us, and that many fewer enemies," Giselle said with a shrug.

"And honey, I don't got them anymore. I... kind of left them on the ship in the frantic scramble to carry you to the temple," Giselle told Gale, hugging her and kissing her on the forehead before Cosimo tossed her an orange. "And... well, maybe they are the best food, because they always bring a smile to your face, and that, to me, makes them good," she added, glancing over at Cosimo and winking, as she knew her words would likely make Gale blush.

"Now, about Hecate... I think that I can get through to her, so long as I can do so without that bastard interfering with us again. I was so damn close when he... magicked something at her, which she ate and threw her into that rage. I know I was getting through to her. She's just sad, scared, and alone, I could feel it. So for now, Gale, help with the shooter. The sooner we get rid of him, the better I think. It'll definitely make moving around the city a lot safer, especially since we won't have to worry about someone maybe shooting us every time we walk out the door. As for this... well, if I'm going to take on Hecate again, it's probably best I figure out how to use it somewhat, else she'll just wipe the floor with me if I have to fight again. Gale, if possible, bring the killer alive. I know none of you want to, and I don't either honestly, after what he did. But, he may have information that we can use, and none of you can tell me with a straight face, that as assassins, you don't have means of making someone talk," Giselle said after a few moments, looking between everyone as she decided on what to do, before looking to Terra. "Terra, teach me. And... quickly, no matter how painful. Some say that you won't or can't grow, without pain, in some way. I will endure, for Kylie, and for our babies," she went on to say.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Gale nodded and Cosimo snorted. Aye, we can make someone talk. he said, Gale looking a little disgusted at the idea of torture for obvious reasons before she hugged and kissed Giselle, and headed for the door to resume her hunt, fading into mist again.

Terra meanwhile was inspecting her arm. Tidecaller, it's powerful to, Melora didn't make any half measure when she gave you this Giselle. Come on, only one thing you really need to learn to use this safely but yes, it's gonna hurt. she said, taking her off while Cosimo was talking to Vos and Diana, who looked gratefully at Giselle before Terra steered her out of the room.

Gotta go to the beach, Tidecaller is the name of a Serpent that gives creed to it's namesake. It's a monster that guards the sacred places by sinking ships. she said, leading the way upwards onto the city streets. Melora always operates in duality, if you take, you must give, and vice versa, Tidecaller is the same. The more you 'Give or Take' without balancing it back out, the more chance there is the power will backlash, or explode outwards. There's no risk to You if it goes the latter, but there's a tremendous risk to anyone around you. she continued explaining as they walked.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"Mmm, I figured as much. And, I don't want to torture anyone either honey if we can help it. I was meaning more, coercion magics and stuff. Truth spells, mind reading, things like that," Giselle said, more to ease Gale's mind than anything, though, if she had to, she would go to any lengths to bring Kylie back to her, short of destroying Garellia in the process.

"I knew that she'd given me power... but to what extent, I didn't know," Giselle replied to Terra, nodding to the others before following her off to the beach. "Then how do I use it without... exploding out around me? Unless I can figure this out, then I'm sure that if I end up having to fight Hecate again, or that... Ichor, that Gale mentioned, then I won't be able to do much against them, and they may kill me," she went on to ask, looking down at her arm where the markings were.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Those are less helpful then you'd think. You'd have more luck with illusion, and even then, it's pain that causes fear, and fear that leads to information. The trick is to find the right information and sort it from the truth. And even then the truth isn't always useful... It's why Torture is still viable compared to magical truth. Cosimo said, Kylie nodding. I can repeat "The sky is blue and the sun is shiny" for days... It's when you're afraid it will never end.... that's when nothing is sacred anymore, not even family. she wrote, slashing with the chalk, before vanishing.

Leading her down towards the shore, the damage Cosimo had done to the harbor was Immense, and Giselle would see his flag flying over every major building. Every ship that wasn't his in this part of the harbor itself was sunk at port, and even their colors had been changed. This part of the city had Not been evacuated, Sailors and Merchants, Pirates and Thieves continued to ply their wares, drink, or sing songs to the Demon Fiddler and his Fleet of Roses. Some drunken and poor, others well sung. There wasn't any tension though, Cosimo had planted his flag, and made it plain. He was in control here, no one was leaving, and if anyone wanted to sail these waters again from this port city, it would be at his leisure. The Shooter wasn't leaving by boat.

I can't tell if him reclaiming his older title is madness or brilliance. But he's cut off the sea and the outside fleets returning wont be crazy enough to challenge him with not only his flagship, but his entire fleet either on their way or already here. Terra said, shaking her head as she 'Guided' a drunken man away from them, though most cleared the hell out of their way in a hurry. She had her own reputation. Giselle didn't have one here, and that was to her benefit, the only people who would know her were allies or enemies. If she was watchful and careful she'd be hard to reach. There was no middle ground here for her.

Many of the buildings had been demolished, or badly damaged, others by some miracle had escaped completely unscathed and having seen the firepower of Cosimo's ship, that was truly, a fucking miracle. She did notice though, that on his other ships, the cannons were more mundane. Long 9's and the like, not the magic infused deathbringers ringing Cosimo's Catastrophic Sound. She'd recognize several of his fellow shipmates wandering around to, closer to the beach, relaxed, on watch, careful. And they kept a good stretch of it completely clear, though revel fires burned farther down where men danced and sang to the ocean.

Was it any wonder Melora blessed these men? Who called to her more often, more longingly, and more honestly then any others? Pirates were many things, but never disrespectful to the sea or it's goddess, their mother Melora.

Terra guided Giselle knee deep into the water, and stood next to her, looking out over the waves. nightfall again, and the moon glittered as a partial crescent building to a brilliant and beautiful face. Push and pull, give AND take. she said, watching the waves. What you call on, you must give back, what you give, you must take back. Call the water. she said, looking out and breathing deep.
