Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

When Kylie made it to the village proper, and shouted out loud for all to hear, they turned, as did all of the slave girls. One larger minotaur man stepped forward, an axe over his shoulder, but he didn't unsheathe it yet. "You say you slew my cousin? I'd recognize that horn anywhere. I don't suppose you're going to give us much choice in the matter, are you?" the big minotaur said, though before Kylie could respond, an old, a very old, minotaur stepped forward, with a large quarterstaff

"Now you listen here sonny. She's got his horn, and says she challenged him. That's enough for me, and should be for you too," the old minotaur said, hunched over a bit, and squinting to look at Kylie. "Now dearie... would you be willing to tell me how you slew him by chance? And you... free those girls. Distasteful keeping them like this anywho," he then said to the minotaur with the axe, bopping him over the head with his staff.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Shame he was your cousin but he didn't leave me much choice in the matter. she said to the first before the Elder moved forward and made with the bopping and the speaking. She hesitated for a moment, and then put her weapons away.

I... it wasn't pretty.... she said, shrugging. Though if he pressed for details... I Challenged him to single unarmed combat, brought him with me in a grapple several hundred feet into the air, and dropped him to the ground... where I was waiting before I kicked him in half... There were also several lightning strikes.. she said, shrugging and crackling with electricity as if to say... I'd probably kill anyone that size that way just because it saves time.

Bah, Here, look up. she said, before repeating the teleport solo this time, whistling from high in the air and waving, giving them a few seconds before returning to the ground in a tumble. Look umm.. what's your name Elder? I really dont want anymore bloodshed, between the clan fight and the challenge, there's been enough of it over this already. she finished, scratching her head and looking around.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"Unarmed combat? A little thing like you took him in unarmed combat? And believe me, my days of bloodshed are far past me. So I'd rather not see it again either, for the sake of my grandchildren," the elder minotaur said, nodding his head a bit. "And my name, lassie, is Spike. Well, that's my nickname, because I wielded a spiked mace when I was younger. Real name's Hawk, I know, silly name for a minotaur, that's why I go by Spike," he added with a chuckle.

The apparent chief of this village looked at the elder with a sidelong glance, raising an eyebrow at him. The younger chief of the village sighed before looking around at his people, almost a bit defeated. "I figured this day would come sooner or later, to be honest. As soon as the northern clans split. It's the reason I've started giving them more leniency with... really everything," he said, before snapping his fingers at a couple of his men. "Get the keys, let them free. I'd rather there be no fighting here," he then said, glancing over to a small clearing, where Kylie saw some minotaur children playing with a couple of women, an elf and a kitsune, sitting there watching over them.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Nothing silly about it. Hawks are beautiful and proud. Kylie answered, before hearing that apparently everyone had figured this was inevitable. Apparently they thought their infighting would make more noise then it did... she had had no idea until she's captured Nog.

Heading to the edge of the hill, Kylie whistled down for the others to come on up, before moving to help gather the slaves up and search the houses before sitting on a log near a firepit next to another minotaur who she didn't know, and Hawk.

I'm finding that Asteron was an exception. No one else has been needlessly stubborn Spike. It's wonderful news to be honest, despite the fighting the Southern Tribes and the Goliaths would prefer friends to enemies in the North. she said, looking for anything that resembled Tea or Coffee in her pack.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Altogether, Kylie found a total of 14 girls, counting the ones outside and whatnot. "Heh, well thank you lassie. I appreciate that. And change is normally frightening, but when you've seen as much as I have, and seen how badly some of those poor girls have been treated in the past... you find that change is a welcome sight. Some of the older chiefs were much harsher on them some years ago, the old bunch of fools," Spike replied when Kylie finished speaking, while Nog and the others were slowly making their way up the hill.

Of the 14 girls from this village, half were human, 3 elves, 2 kitsune, 1 neko, and 1 goliath girl. One of the human girls wore what appeared to be tattered priestess robes, though she wasn't from the Feynrial priestesses obviously, else Kylie would recognize her. One of the elven girls looked like a mage too, from the look of the robes she was in.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Kylie watched all the slaves bouncing and jumping and dancing, having a wet T-shirt contest.... washing cars....

Shaking her head, she cleared the day dream and flailed around, rounding up a little food here and there and everywhere before engineering a massive lunch of odd but welcome fuds for everyone. Basically anything she could lay hands on, or that people offered up, sandwiches, oranges, just whatever was on hand for everyone while she stayed with Hawk and Nog.

It would be a good thing she figured, for the minotaurs to see she wasn't just their boogeyman. She was a person, quick to smile, quicker to laugh. odd certainly, and undeniably in charge and uncompromising. She was just another person really.

I should have brought more rangers to escort your girls home. she lamented as she ate, enjoying the slight break.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Kylie was able to round up some food, thankfully, with Nog helping to lead that endeavor up, along with the younger minotaur whose pregnant mate was with them all, and whose name she found out was Grom. The human priestess girl came over to Kylie and thanked her for coming to free them, bowing deeply with tears of happiness in her eyes. "T-Thank you miss... thank you so much. I was on pilgrimage when I was taken. About a month and a half ago," she said to Kylie, while Spike sat across from Kylie around the main campsite and sighed a little, looking apologetically.

"I am sorry for that, young miss. I don't know what else I can possibly say or do to comfort you, at the moment," Spike said, while Nog supplied them all with food and drink. Mostly just bread and water, with some oranges from Kylie's stash, which Freya had left with her.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

An apology is better then nothing but it's pretty close to nothing. If they aren't starting wars words are usually just sounds on the wind. Kylie said, though it wasn't to shame spike, more to shame the priestesses rapist if he was close by enough to hear it.

Getting everyone fed, Kylie still made her displeasure at the situation clear by shunning most everyone but Spike and once they were fed she stood, turning to the younger chief and his axe.

Make peace with your southern cousins or so help me. she said coldly, before turning and inclining her head to Spike and motioning everyone else to continue on, the ragged priestess sticking right next to her and Kylie more then happy for the company if it made the girl feel better to be close to her.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"Aye... it is indeed pretty much worthless. But for what it's worth, young one... I am sorry," Spike said with a solemn nod.

"S-Sir Spike... you were kind to us captured girls... s-so I don't blame you, really," the priestess girl said to Spike, bowing politely to him.

"Oh lassie... I don't deserve your kindness. I could have, and should have done more to make things easier for you girls," Spike told her softly, sighing again.

After that, when Kylie told the younger chief of the village to end the violence with the southern tribes, he looked a bit tense, but nodded. "If the high chief says so, then we will. Also, Thaos is my name," he replied to Kylie.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Kylie nodded and wandered off at the direction of Nog towards the next village with a small army of women in tow. It would have been amusing if the situation wasn't as serious as it was.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Once everyone had gotten fed and watered, Nog led Kylie onward to the next village, with Spike seeing them off with a wave, and even following along with them a little ways, until they'd reached the bottom of the hill, where Nog was leading Kylie northward.

After another hour or so, they made their way to the next village, where Kylie found... something odd, or likely different than she'd expected. Here, there were minotaur children and non minotaur children playing together, while the slave women seemed... less like slaves, and more like maids or something else. They were carrying out menial tasks, though some minotaur women were as well, seeming to be working together in this particular village. It was actually one of the human girls who first approached Kylie and whoever she'd brought into the village with her.

"Um... hello there. W-Who are you?" the young human woman said.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Raising an eyebrow at the next village, it seemed Kylie would be able to free everyone with only 4 kills to her name, the 3 idiots in the brush, one of which belonged to Sheena, and the Chief...

Being approached, Kylie just, slowly and gently palmed her own face, before putting two fingers to her lips and whistling again for everyone's attention

Lords, Ladies, Gentlecows of all ages and genders, and that technicolor rainbow in between. You would all know me as The Hellion, This would be the Horn of Asteron who I slew in single combat for the right to lead, which makes Me High Chief of the Asteros tribe. And... will whoever is in charge tell me what the hell is going on because this isn't what I expected... she said to everyone assembled, tilting her head and seeming somewhere between confused and exasperated.

I have to assume you women were all taken from your homes and families against your will and just... got lucky here... she said, seeming actually incredibly annoyed by this.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

The minotaurs, and the women, all turned to look at Kylie when she whistled out to get their attention, with the village chief coming out to speak to Kylie. "I am the new chief here. And my rules are... different, than the last chief's. And... they were, yes. I'd planned to smuggle them away when it was safe enough to do so, back to their homes. But in the meantime, I granted them much more freedom, than they had before," the minotaur said, looking rather young, and obviously a bit worried about Kylie's presence after announcing herself.

"If you're planning on taking them with you, then I won't interfere. And neither will any of the others here. I admit, I would be a little sorry to see them go, but their safety and their lives, are of greater concern to me, than work that we can, and should do, ourselves," he then said after a few moments.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Good, no arguments then. Ladies, pack up, you're going home. Thank you for taking care of them in the mean time though I'm sure a few of them would love to stab you for taking them away from their homes no matter how well intentioned you became later. Kylie said, making the usual rounds and searches and getting all the slaves ready to go home.

Seemed not very many people were all that scared of Asteron farther away from his village. Which meant they were about as loyal as a bag of piss to him. She took the time to spit on the horn, the only part of his corpse left and just moved on again with everyone in tow.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"Probably yes... and this is all of them, but feel free to search if you think you need to," the young minotaur chief said.

She found that this time, there were indeed no women in the houses around the place amazingly enough, and within half an hour everyone was packed up and ready to go. "It looks like it was a good time to do what you did. Even I didn't know of the dissent here. The previous chief here if I remember, wasn't... overly kind, but he wasn't needlessly cruel either. I guess the youngster there just... had enough of it," Nog muttered as they left that village towards the next one.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Don't really care Nog. past doesn't concern me much. Kylie answered, overseeing the travel of everyone. It was getting to be a fairly large group traipsing through the jungle and she wasn't living a single soul behind. Not Fucking One.

How many villages are left Nog? Kylie asked him

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"Three more, aside from like hunting lodges and whatnot, but those won't have slaves in them. Was thought to be too risky, that they would escape at them since they aren't permanently inhabited even by us. One of the upcoming villages is the largest of the northern clan villages too, so it's likely to have twice as many as we found in any of the others," Nog replied when asked how many more villages there were. "I would suggest taking them all to the goliaths, which are only a couple of days away from here, give or take. Going eastward around the mountain. They can help you get them all back to their proper homes," he added after a few moments of thought.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Probably, around the same time my own girls will be dropping off the large group from the first village. Regardless. She stopped and turned to everyone, they'd all been walking for hours.

I know you're all tired, take a break, it'll be dark before too long and there's plenty of things in this jungle that Aren't minotaurs so I need everyone's help right now. she called to the group. We'll be staying through the night in the next village, or at least, on it's outskirts so we'll need firewood, dead fall, so we can make something of our own camp. I'll keep watch over everyone through the night so none of you need to worry, but we'll have our own fires and the like. 3 villages left and everyone can go home together. She said, starting to gather firewood as well herself as they walked. She couldn't count on this next village going smoothly if it was so much larger, and definitely couldn't count on hospitality. She'd gotten lucky so far.

A large village would have been of direct interest to Asteron, and likely would have followed his ideas and orders to the letter. With him Gone... So far she'd managed a bloodless streak since killing the chief. She doubted it would continue.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Nog nodded as well, before Kylie called a halt for the time being. Looking back, she'd see that all of the girls, especially the pregnant ones, of which there were 3 altogether, and all looked completely exhausted. "Hmm... it might even be better to remain where we are, actually. This isn't too bad a spot all things considered, and the next village has patrols that go out one miles, through the nights, so it would probably be in our best interests to not get too close," Nog told Kylie, looking around at the girls, who did all look pretty tired in most cases.

"I can help get some firewood, miss," one of the young elf girls said. "And I can help start some fires much easier, so long as I have a focus of some sort that has magical properties. If you have one, that is," the mage elf then told Kylie.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Not really sweetheart, I don't use a focus. I'm like... a giant magical conduit that's alive. It's hard to explain. But all those things sorcerors and mages do with training and study, I just... Live in them. she said, shrugging and failing, before brightening up. I can show you! Here! she said, reaching out to hold the girls shoulder, before the elf would feel her senses open up like Kylie's always were, letting her see the currents around the island, those beautiful whorls and pillars and mists that enveloped everything. Though the girl would see something Kylie never had, having been unable to look at Herself this way.

That tendrils of different energies, those that made her up, all 11 of them, extended around her like the tentacles of Terra's Kraken and filtered into all the forces of the island, and likewise the island fed back into her. It lasted about 30 seconds or so but Kylie was certain that the girl would enjoy the view as much as Delilah had. To Actually SEE the currents in a way almost no one else ever did. As they naturally were.

And was entirely unaware that she had given someone other then Giselle, a true hard look at what she actually was in a sense, though she hadn't seen through the glamour that kept Kylie from looking like a horror show.

Hugging her, she went about helping set up a large camp. That's fine Nog. If it's a big village it has an alarm system right? bells or towers or the like? Maybe signal fires? I could deal with this village at night while you guys get some real rest. Girls! Please, no fighting, no ruckus. To any goliaths and minotaurs in our party here? Look out for your smaller friends. That's what we all are. she said, pondering this apparent larger village ahead.
