Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)
"Perhaps they have been lying, in a few cases. But I make sure often that they aren't, as do my lieutenants when I can't go myself," Varos said, where a young elven woman stepped out from behind him and bowed politely to Kylie, while patting Varos's arm. "Lyrindel... what are you doing here?" Varos then asked the young and pretty elven girl, looking a little exasperated at the sight of the young elf girl.
"Making sure that you aren't getting yourself into any trouble, you big oaf," the elf girl said, glancing up at him, before back to Kylie, her long blonde hair swinging around as she did. She stepped up to Kylie and bowed again. "The reason he's so adamant that there aren't slaves in his villages, my lady, is because I was one of those who were protected on their way home that he mentioned. The two that died protecting me and the other three girls, were his sons. Baro stepped in front of me, and my sister, and took seven arrows that were meant for us, never once moving from shielding us, and even turning to fight so the one minotaur coming for us couldn't reach us. And Rokaro stayed behind while we ran, to keep those of Asteron's clan here, busy, for us to escape. When Varos and his men got there, they found Rokaro amidst nearly ten dead minotaurs, and he told his father with his last dying breath, to free all of the slaves that the northern clans had once kept, and bring their people all into a new era of prosperity with the rest of the island. After I learned what had happened to them, I decided to stay with Varos, to help him, and his people to achieve this goal," she then told Kylie, who saw Varos looked a little upset that Lyrendel spoken about this, but he also looked in a way... relieved almost.
"My sons died, fighting for a better future for us. I hope that soon, their deaths won't have been in vain," Varos said softly, before giving Kylie a little bow, before turning to talk to one of his men, who nodded and set a backpack down to rummage through, and producing a map for Kylie to have that showed all of the northern clan villages, including Asteron's and their followers.
"Aside from my family, not many. Hallen over there is trustworthy enough though, and would suffice, for the time being," Nog said after he was asked who would be good to leave in charge for now, gesturing at an older minotaur that looked... not elderly, but middle aged definitely, and starting to gray pretty good.
