Actually, many of the ninja 'magic' skills were either set up before hand, or the benefit of circumstance. Plus, cannons and guns beat metal pointy things.

then you are out of the fight ZeroSpace, even if pirates can beat robots and ninjas. this discussion is only between ninjas and pirates (not ninja_pirate, cyberpirate,magician_ninja, spacial pirates, etc)

Ninja's have smoke bombs... Also, bomb aren't better than guns in one on one combat. If you get close enough to use one, you'll likely either be in range for the gun, or blow yourself up.

if you go one on one combat I can throw 13 small knives at you at the same time while all I need to do is just try and not stand in front of where you are pointing your gun at.
And even if you managed to dodge all my knives I can still rush in and stab you.
Not to mention you have to reload your gun while I can just pull knife after knife out.
And no, we don't just have smoke bombs, they are just for escaping or distraction, maybe even as a signal, but we also have normal bombs which is just normal gun powder which we can throw at you. It all depends on what the ninja's mission is I suppose while Pirates are just pirates which is focused on only one thing, the sea. While Ninjas have to be able to handle tons of different situations.

... You seem to be forgetting attacking and raiding ships and port towns in there. (As well as drunken brawls)

2)If you are busy blocking my knives how are you gonna react fast enough to stab me 1st?

5)No, Ninja's can actually engage someone in the sea and land due the fact that humans are quite adaptable so sure Pirates can face a ninja off in land but I don't think Pirates are gonna win in land. So while a ninja can sneak abort your ship and ASSASSINATE YOU which as you said is something Ninjas can 'only' do. And what can a Pirate do anyways? Shoot a gun? swing his sword? Sail a ship? Drink till they faint?

Oh, to clarify what I said earlier:
I don't mean each knife is heavy and bulky, just carrying several is. Carrying 13 knives is going to either be really bulky or kill your stealth. (Clinkety Clinkety Clinkety)
