Newb, n. : Someone who is new to a game, or has just started again from the beginning.

N00b, n. : Someone who is a total ass to others while playing a game.

A N00b can be a Newb if the Newb is being especially N00bish.

Leastaways that's the definition I use.

A newb will ask politely over voice/text chat about how a certain game function works, or for tips on doing something.

A n00b will use cheap tactics and make suicide runs while claiming that their death was cheap or only because of the enemy's luck.
