I'm a physicist, not a biologist. I have no idea why the tentacles prefer pears over other fruits. Acidity, maybe?

I don't know how they came to be, but I read the reviews. XD Maybe a regular shower stall installed next to the rape booth would be ultimate win.

Zero: that information is classified. Suffice to say they were originally developed from a native Japanese creature during the cold war.

To give what we know of the unclassified version, the Soviet Union was conducting research into crowd control methods and learned of this rare creature native to Japan. The United States, perceiving a 'tentacle gap', proceeded to fill their gap with this tentacle 'creature'. As for how they became available to the civilian populous, let's just say it involved Bill Clinton, a jazz quartet, and the Superdome.
