Devlog #1: Introduction to the Game
Hello!
This is the first devlog for — an atmospheric 18+ dating sim about a paradise island, summer relaxation, new encounters, romantic meetings, and a small ice cream shop around which the story gradually begins to unfold.

Paradise Island

Ice Cream takes place on a sunny island made for relaxation, flirting, and unexpected encounters.
Players will be able to visit different locations: scenic beaches, cozy cafés, hotels, quiet corners, and other places where story events may happen. Some encounters will only be available at certain times of day, so the game includes a day and night cycle.
During the day, the island feels bright, warm, and relaxed. At night, the atmosphere changes: different events appear, new dialogues become available, and more personal moments with the heroines can happen.

Girls and Relationships

The main part of Ice Cream is meeting girls and developing relationships.
Each heroine has her own personality, story, preferences, and event line. The player will choose dialogue options, spend time with the girls, unlock new scenes, and gradually get to know them better.
The game will feature different types of heroines: energetic, calm, bold, mysterious, and more reserved. We want every relationship route to feel distinct: some will have more light romantic comedy, others will focus on slow intimacy, and some will lean into provocative flirting.

Ice Cream Shop

One of the key mechanics of the game is working at the ice cream shop.
This is not just a way to earn money. Random events can happen during a shift: unusual visitors, strange orders, short scenes with island residents, and encounters that may affect further progression.
The ice cream shop will become one of the central points of the gameplay loop. Through work, the player will be able to earn money, learn new rumors, and gradually unlock additional events on the island.

Rumors and Strange Island Residents

The island has a rumor system.
Rumors help the player learn about hidden events, new opportunities, and places where something interesting may happen. They will be brought by a local madman who believes he is a spy.
He also has a secret informant — a person in a box.
Through this strange pair, the player will receive hints, news, and leads that move the story forward and unlock new events. This system will add a bit of humor and the feeling that the island lives its own strange life.

Collecting

In addition to story events and relationships, Ice Cream will include collecting.
Players will be able to find collectible cards on the island — vintage erotic photos. All found cards will be added to a special album.
Some cards can be found while exploring locations, while others can be unlocked through events, relationship progress, or specific times of day. For players who enjoy exploring carefully, this will be a separate activity.

Part of me wants to type out the metal gear solid meme lyrics in full caps and just post it with no explanation, but my higher brain function stopped me.

Devlog #2: Demo Release

Hello!
This is the second devlog for Ice Cream, and today we have important news: the of the game is now available.
You can now head to the island yourself, meet the first characters, unlock some of the events, work in the ice cream shop, and experience the game’s atmosphere firsthand.

Welcome to the Island

The demo already includes a large part of the island where the events of Ice Cream take place.
The player can visit different locations: the ice cream shop, the pool, the beach, the café, the hotel, their own room, and other places. Depending on the time of day, different events may occur on the island, so exploration is not limited to a single route.
During the day, the island feels bright and relaxed, but in the evening and at night, it begins to reveal another side of itself: new situations appear, strange encounters happen, and more personal moments with the characters become possible.

The Ice Cream Shop

One of the game’s central mechanics is working in a small ice cream shop.
During a shift, the player takes orders, chooses the correct base, flavor, syrup, and topping, trying to assemble each ice cream correctly and quickly. This is part of the core gameplay loop: working helps you earn money, pass time, and gradually become involved in the life of the island.
The shop is not just a mini-game separated from everything else. Through it, the player encounters visitors, rumors, and small events that make the game world feel more alive.

Hitomi’s Story

The demo already includes part of the story route for Hitomi — a cheerful and bold lifeguard at the pool.
You can meet her, unlock the first events, and see how her attitude toward the protagonist gradually develops. Hitomi loves teasing, easily puts the hero in awkward situations, and clearly enjoys this little game.
Her route already includes animated scenes, showing the direction we want to take the visual side of Ice Cream. We want the key moments with the heroines to feel not just like dialogue, but like full scenes with mood, movement, and memorable details.
Hitomi’s story will continue in the full version of the game: new events, more explicit moments, and further relationship development are still ahead.

First Encounters with Other Characters

Besides Hitomi, you can already meet other characters on the island.
Some appear in small scenes, others are just beginning their routes, while a few leave more questions than answers for now. This is part of the overall structure of Ice Cream: the island gradually introduces the player to its residents, their habits, oddities, and little secrets.
In the full version, each main heroine will have her own story, personal events, and separate relationship progression.

Rumors and Hidden Events

The rumor system is already working in the game.
Rumors help you find new events and suggest where you should go next. Sometimes they point to a specific location, while other times they simply hint that something suspicious is happening on the island.
This system is important for exploration: the player is not just clicking through a quest list, but gradually collecting information, checking locations, and unlocking events through observation.
Of course, the rumors here are not always presented seriously. A very strange pair of informants is responsible for them, so some of the hints sound as if the island has long since gone insane and is now simply pretending that everything is normal.

Collectible Cards

In the demo, you can also start collecting collectible cards.
These are vintage erotic photos that are placed into a separate album. Some cards can be found while exploring, while others will be unlocked through events or relationship progress.
Collecting them will become an additional activity for players who like to carefully inspect locations and search for everything hidden on the island.

What’s Next

Right now, we are continuing to develop Ice Cream and are preparing new content.
The full version of the game is planned to include:
  • four main heroines;
  • full story routes;
  • more animated scenes;
  • new locations and events;
  • development of the ice cream shop;
  • additional rumors and random encounters;
  • full voice acting.
We are also paying close attention to player feedback. It helps us understand where the hints should be improved, which events work best, how the game’s pacing feels, and which elements need further refinement.

Add to Your Wishlist

If you enjoy atmospheric 18+ dating sims, a summer island vibe, romantic events, explicit scenes, and a bit of strange humor — add Ice Cream to your Steam wishlist.
It helps the project a lot and lets us know that players are interested in seeing what comes next.
Thank you to everyone who has already tried the demo, shared their impressions, written a review, or simply followed the development.
See you in the next devlog!
