So, is this a 2 year delay time now? What is this, a triple A game? Wow.
To point out something that might be lost in translation: They're not just bugfixing at the moment. They're also editing, because when they were doing playtesting they found some of the text to be low quality. Given the amount of text in the demo (which had walls of the stuff), it's understandable it's taking a while to edit. Though hopefully they'll learn how to do realistic estimates at some point...
Random-ish question, but did you ever find a way to extract the menu text in the demo? I vaguely remember someone trying to do it, I think it was you. Or would it be a case of having to replace the button graphics entirely?
I talked about doing a partial translation (or rather making the tools to do a partial translation), but that was when I had free time... Might see if I've got some time over Christmas but eh...
As to text hooking, very little of the game can't be hooked by ITHVNR (although you might need to hop around on the hooks for some of it). The only things I can think that aren't hookable because they're graphics are a couple of headers, and the MAP/ITEM/... buttons in the top right. (EDIT: I had said that the world map was unhookable; this is wrong, as it can be hooked. It's not useful though, as hooking the names of every settlement in the game as one continuous block of text is not a useful thing.)
Ahh, alright. I wanted to attempt it myself. I added some stuff to brofalla's partial of the first game a long time ago, but he had already done the menus so I don't know if he used Kikiriki or something else entirely to translate the buttons.
Brofalla's partial modified the menu scripts so that they were in English, and possibly some of the graphics as well (those are standard PNGs). I can't tell you exactly how it was done though, or where to look in this one.
If I remember correctly it was announced at the start of 2014 and the first release date they gave was in December of 2015. So only a year of delays, not that that's much better.
