Mei-Lien tries to kick the tentacle monster, but a few tentacles surprise her with a slap on the back and then grab her legs, making her lose her balance and fall to the ground. Hannah also fails to hit the thing with her latest fireball, and while Mei-Lien is still stunned from her fall she receives a few firm slaps to her chest and stomach, the slime eating through her clothing and leaving her aroused once again. She finds herself growing tired, and if the battle keeps up much longer she won't be able to keep going.

"Thought too soon..." Mei curses her premature confidence as her kick is intercepted and capitalized upon to pull her down. Among her fall recovery, she receives a few hard lashes from the tentacles across her body, small splotches vanishing from her dress as the clothing-eating slime set upon them. Now starting to heat up some, the redhead still opted to figh her way off instead of just merely escaping.

Mei-Lien tries to lash out at the tentacles and force them to drop her, but she can't quite do it. Hannah has more luck, slamming the monster with a fireball and causing it to let Mei-Lien go, but as the fighter stands up the tentacles harshly slap her stomach, knocking the wind out of her and making her fall to the floor. She finds that she doesn't have the energy to get back up, and the tentacles turn their attention to Hannah when she misses them with another fireball, though she's able to evade them and cast one more fireball, hitting them square in the center mass and killing them. "That wasn't too bad, but it got a little rough towards the end" she said, waiting for Mei-Lien to regain her strength.

Mei tries to struggle away from the tentacles' grip, but her flailing doesn't produce any results. A fireball from Hannah frees her only for a few seconds as the creature smashes her so the midsection, knocking her briefly breathless to the ground. While she tries to get up, the mage manages to deal with the opposition.

"For me, yes.." the redhead gasps in reply, holding back any signs of pain. She had no desire to show weakness. My pants got partially dissolved again.. Can you fix them?"

"Oh, sure" Hannah said, and she got a look of intense concentration on her face as Mei-Lien's clothes began to repair themselves, slowly advancing to cover the holes the tentacles had produced. By the time it was done, Mei-Lien felt almost completely better, and Hannah extended a hand, asking "shall we move on? There can't be much more to this castle now."

Once her pants had been fixed and her strenght returned, Mei stood up, declining the offered hand. "I can get up by myself, thank you very much. There is something to be explored still, and we'll head there now." she said, leading Hannah towards the remaining door.

"Alright" Hannah replied, though she seemed maybe a little hurt that Mei-Lien had rejected her help. She walked along behind the fighter as she went through the second obliterated door, and into what had once been a throne room. Much of the right side of the room has been crushed by the fallen turret, and there were more signs of battle all about. Mei-Lien's eyes were drawn to a chest next to the broken throne, but Hannah's eyes were drawn to a spot on the wall above the throne; there were words written in what looked like fresh blood, and Mei-Lien might recognize the format as pointing to a specific group of lines in the religious book she had found in the peasant's hut. The young mage shuddered and grew visibly pale, sinking to her knees and clasping her hands, her mouth moving in silent prayer for a few moments. There was also a door to the left, which probably led up to the remaining turret.

They entered the remaining door, finding their way to a deserted throne room. The ancient battles had been here as well, but part of the room had been destroyed by a fallen piece of tower. The chest interested Mei, but Hannah's behaviour held her back for now. "Hmmm, what is it? What does it say?"

"It's a reference to a line in the scriptures, surely you've heard it. 'And they shall stand in judgment of all the world, and strike down the wicked' it reads. These people were all killed by demons. I'd heard stories that there were aristocrats around the island a long time ago that were wiped out, but I hadn't thought it would have been demons" Hannah replied from her knees, slowly getting up. "This is kind of creepy, really."

"Oh, it's a prophecy... but demons, that might be a bad thing.." Mei replies to Hannah's explanation. She was not sure if it was a bad thing for their current situation, but decided to keep herself aware in case some of those demons still happened to be lurking nearby.

With the text now clear in her mind, the redhead moved on to matters that were more interesting for herself. "But more importantly... let's see what we have here. she said in a half-voice, walking over to the chest. After a brief investigation, her desire to see the contents got the better of her, and Mei went on to open the thing and find out what it held.

"Alright" Hannah replied, still a little shaken. The chest had once been locked, though a few hard tugs on it broke the rusted lock and allowed Mei-Lien to open it. Inside were a few jewels and a crest, probably from the aristocratic family that had once inhabited the castle. "The jewels you could sell, but the crest we should probably leave. No one will touch it anyway if they know what it is." When Mei-Lien had decided what to do with the goods, Hannah asked "do you want to go up in the turret? There might be something interesting up there, but it might also be dangerous, being as old as it is."

"Well go with that, I trust your knowledge more than my own in this land." Mei replies, leaving the crest behind and pocketing the gems.

As she was asked about the turret, Mei agreed, wanting to finish the exploration.

Hannah followed Mei-Lien as they walked up the winding staircase of the turret, small pieces of stone breaking off and falling down the stairs as they carefully climbed. When they reached the top, they found that not only had the top of the turret rotted off or fallen away, they were in some sort of giant nest... Looking up a bit, they would see a harpy perched on the edge of the wall; she had the lower body of a bird of prey, her "feet" ending in sharp talons, and the upper body of a lithe, athletic young woman, if you ignored the fact that her "arms" were wings. In a moment the harpy took flight, circling around them as if looking for a chance to attack.

"Nice.. a flying opponent..." Mei thought as she saw the harpy swoop up to the sky. She needed timing in this fight, and prepared to pull of a high kick and evade if the birdgirl dived towards her.

As Mei-Lien prepared for the attack of the harpy, Hannah launched a fireball up at it, but the harpy quickly evaded with a graceful move and dove, gripping the mage's shoulders with her talons and preparing to lift her up into the air. Hannah screamed in pain and launched a fireball into her attacker from point-blank range, knocking it off her for a brief moment before it cut at her with its talons and grabbed her, seemingly about to lift her off the ground. Mei-Lien tries to kick at the harpy grabbing the young mage, but isn't able to connect with it, and Hannah begins to thrash around, clearly unnerved by the goings on. "Help, get it off me!"

With the grabbing of Hannah and her attack missing, Mei was not feeling confident. She had to get the harpy away from the mage before things turned sour. With another attempt at a high kick, she proceeded to try realeasing the panicking girl from her predicament.

Mei-Lien kicks at the harpy, but isn't able to connect again, though she distracts it enough that one of Hannah's desperate fireballs hits it and knocks it off of her. The harpy lunges at the mage again, but she ducks and rolls out of the way, and the harpy screamed in frustration.

"At least she managed to do it..." Mei thought as her kicked swished emptily through the air. But Hannah had managed to free herself, so they were at a slightly better juncture now with both girls able to do something properly.

The martial artist keeped up her plan, as there was very little she could do against a flying opponent other than wait and attack when they got in reach.

Hannah launches another fireball at the harpy, but with another graceful move it dodged in midair and lunged at the mage, its talons stabbing and ripping into her shoulders and upper body before grabbing onto her, dodging Mei-Lien again as it began to flap its wings and try to lift Hannah. The girl screamed and thrashed, clearly in pain as blood seeped through her tattered dress, terrified of what the harpy might do to her if it got her up in the air.

"Grrrr, this is getting nowhere...."

Starting to get frustrated, Mei still kept up her determined attack to get Hannah away. If the harpy managed to take the mage out, she'd be in trouble.
