Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

The shapeshifter ordered Mei-Lien around a little more, having her fetch things here and there as Rosa started putting together their lunch, tossing the salad and adding some sort of dressing before apportioning some out into a couple of small bowls for the two of them, picking up one of the forks that she had had Mei-Lien bring out and starting to eat while standing at the counter.

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

Going along with the shifter's instructions, Mei did not have any problems at playing a kitchen assistant's role. It was an okay change of space, and soon the pair had finished their little project. Once they had finished, the redhead would join Rosa at the counter, though she would not eat as much, with her previous words about the effeciency of the new demon body's metabolism still clear in her mind.

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

The two of them ate in silence, restoring some of Mei-Lien's energy after the transformation and her training, which had taken a little more out of her than she'd realized. The salad was a little bit plain, though the dressing added a slight tangy flavor, and it couldn't have been helped much more when they didn't have more varied ingredients. When they were done Rosa started cleaning up. "That wasn't too bad. Not the best, but still. Your mistress is probably still working with your slave, so we probably have a little bit of free time. Anything else you'd like to do for today?"

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

Even with the simple nature of their food, Mei was willing to have something to replenish the energy lost during training and transformation. Once they had finished eating and setting everything back, Rosa asked for something to do. "Hmmm, not really. Could just go and rest or something." the redhead replied, being quite empty when suggestions were concerned.

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

"Huh? Well, that's okay. You can head over to your room until you're called for. Have a nice nap" Rosa replied, patting Mei-Lien on the back and sending her on her way. The redhead made her way back to her room, laying down and having a post-lunch nap. She was awakened by a gentle nudge, and the succubus staring down at her. "Wake up, sleepyhead. Sleeping in the middle of the day, how slothful" she joked, poking at Mei-Lien for a bit. "Want to try and learn a little bit of magic? It'll probably be difficult for you, and Gods help you if you're harder to teach than your mage friend, but it'd be useful to know. Probably."

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

After parting ways with Rosa, Mei took it upon herself to have a brief rest from all the hassle and bustle of training and transforming and what have you. Almost jumping onto the bed, she was not originally intending on sleeping, but fell asleep nonetheless. The napping was cut short after a while, Erica poking at the newly-added demoness to wake her up. "I don't see why not, gotta engage in them sins, even in small ways." the redhead joked initially about the whole thing, but settled into a more serious mood once the magic training was talked about. "Sure, anything to help along the way. Though I do see there being some difficulties with me doing that."

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

Erica bapped Mei-Lien lightly at her sins joke, giggling a little. "Indeed. Well, we can do your practice in here, because you may well not get very far. First, have you ever meditated? Not just sitting around waiting for insight and being mindless, but really, truly meditating."

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

"Hmmm, well we did do that back when I was still a student in my chosen form of martial art. I never took it all that seriously though, maybe I should have..." Mei confessed her disregard about the importance of meditation. She had always considered the the whole deal as a waste of time, spent on useless sitting around when one could further practise and get some more concrete development.

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

Erica sighed, muttering for a moment before explaining "why does everyone skip the meditation? Ah well, you can start now. Get up on your bed again and sit with your feet and hands together, eyes closed. You'll need to clear your mind for a bit, and then search inward. It's not so much a process of thinking as it is feeling. This may sound corny, and you may have heard it before and rolled your eyes, but you'll need to find your center. It's a hard sensation to describe, but that's where all of your magical abilities come from. Take your time, and don't feel frustrated if you can't figure it all out right away."

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

Listening to yet more instructions, Mei set herself on the bed after having listened to all of it and took up the pose that was mentioned. It was a familiar thing for her, they had done it almost exactly like this in the days of her learning period. This time she was taking a more serious approach to the thing, and maintained her thoughts on searching for that center after a brief moment spent on a completely clear mind. The redhead would plunge into the depths of her mind to look for the feeling that would reveal her center, taking her time on it as Erica had suggested. Despite the mild dislike she had towards magic, the fighter would not shirk away from trying to develop a skill that might be helpful in the future.

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

Mei-Lien spent a while searching inwardly, losing all track of time as she meditated. At first the experience was somewhat frustrating, as she could feel or sense nothing. At some point, however, she began to feel something something inside of her, at the very core of her being. It was a sort of swirling energy that in some ways mirrored the redhead's heartbeat, but it was much more than that. A feeling that she could never quite describe after the fact in words washed over her, a sort of deep peace and understanding. She found that she was only intermittently aware of the energy inside her, keeping focus on it difficult and particularly hard to maintain, but she was slowly getting better at it. After a while, though, she was interrupted by a tap on the shoulder that brought her back to reality.

"It seemed like you made progress, and I hate to stop you, but you've been at it for hours" Erica said, nodding. "You were never likely to figure it all out at once anyway, though. And now you at least know how to get at your soul. You'd be amazed how hard it was to get your friend to get to that point. All these silly mages with their natural talent. Magic comes so easily to them that they never have to find its source, and never reach their full potential. When you try this again you'll probably find it a little easier, and you'll be able to focus on trying to manipulate your soul's energy intentionally, until it becomes second nature, and you can perform a few spells without really thinking about it."

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

Losing track of her surroundings and the time completely, Mei went into the very depths of her conscious as she searched for that much talked about center of being. After a time that felt pretty long for her, the redhead was faced with a stream of whirling energy which she had never been in touch with, at least on a conscious level. Maybe somewhere in her deepest dreams she had taken a brief contact, but couldn't recall such things. Some more time was spent on trying to focus and control the stream, which was difficult but she could do a little of it. Having focused on the stream for a while, the redhead was interrupted from her meditation. She almost wanted to smack Erica to the face for disturbing her, but kept the reflex in check.

"Hmph, alright, suppose I'll stop then. So, what is next on the schedule? Suppose we could carry on with the new tasks now that I'm out from my focus." she replied, a degree of grumpiness in her voice. The focusing had been somewhat interesting, and she could likely do small feats of magic if given enough time to learn that control over her inner energy stream. But whatever, maybe there was something better to do if the mistress had pulled her out.

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

"Well, it's time for dinner" Erica replied simply. "Or rather, it was time for dinner quite a while ago. I wouldn't even make your little mage friend try this for more than five hours. It's a little excessive" she said with a shrug. "You can try again after dinner, but it's good to take a break every so often." With that the demon led Mei-Lien to the dining room, where the other two in the "household" were waiting, with four bowls of soup laid out on the table. Hannah was sitting with her back to the two, so she still hadn't seen Mei-Lien's new look.

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

"Alright, food it is then. I'll see when I can do that again and not make it too intensive." the demonic redhead spoke her bit, then went after the mistress and towards the dining room. Despite her new look no doubt giving Hannah surprised or shocked reactions, she made no issue of the thing, instead just going to the table in her usual, calm manner.

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

As Mei-Lien sat down Hannah turned to look at her, and then slowly turned back towards the table without a word, seemingly speechless at the sight of the new demon. Rosa greeted her cheerfully, asking "did you have a nice nap? How about your attempt at magic?" As the redhead answered the others around the table began to eat from their bowls of soup, and upon closer inspection it looked like some kind of bean soup with some sort of seasoning thoroughly sprinkled over it.

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

It looked like the mage had taken in the new look somewhat easily, considering her remarkably quiet and expressionless reaction. Still, Mei was sure that she wasn't showing the reaction out of some form of fear or such, given the company they held. After taking her attention away from the mage, the new demon was addresed by Rosa the shifter. Nomming at the soup, the fighter talked back among the eating. "The nap was a remarkably average one of it's kind, but the magic thing got me interested. I'll need to try it later, but maybe not today.

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

"Mmm, good. I was worried it might just be frustrating and annoying for you" Rosa replied, and then the odd group returned to eating. The soup was quite spicy and hot, almost too much so, but that appeared to suit Erica's taste just fine, and she had likely been the one who had made it. In all it was fairly good, or at least nothing to complain about, and they were soon done. In a bizarre sort of way the four were like a family sitting around the dinner table. As Erica got up she said "you have a busy day tomorrow, so get a proper amount of rest tonight" in Mei-Lien's direction, starting to collect dishes with the help of the shapeshifter, and as they went off to the kitchen to clean up the redhead heard Rosa's voice in her head again, saying "if you want you can call on me in a bit, and you and your slave can come do as you like, or you can leave her behind. If not that's fine too." When the two of them had gotten beyond the door, Hannah spoke up, asking "should we go back to your room? They didn't say we had anything to do, but it's kind of early to go to bed..."

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

"Was surprised by myself, considering my past views towards meditation. But turns out it was kind of interesting, offering a good challenge to someone like myself." Mei replied as she finished the bean-laden soup. Once she picked herself up from the chair, the demon redhead acknowledged Erica's words with a casual nod before heading out into the corridors. Hearing Rosa's words again as the pair went, the fighter was not sure if she wanted to go through another slightly awkward thing with the shifter. "That's true, there is still a good portion of the day left. Rosa the shifter was inviting us to see her again, but I'm not sure if I want to, seeing how those visits usually end. Do you have something you wanted to do? We have time and I'm not too picky about things at the moment, so if you have something in mind, we could always do that." she replied to Hannah after hearing the slave-mage ask her.

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

"Hmm? How they end?" Hannah asked, looking at Mei-Lien curiously. "I thought the two of you normally had sex. Is she bad at it or something?" She waited for the redhead's answer before continuing "there isn't a whole lot we can do here, though... it's pretty sparse, and I didn't have much in mind. I guess we could just go to sleep if that's what you wanted."

Re: Mei-Lien (Guan Yu)

"Nah, it's just... I'd better not go too deeply into the whole thing. Suffice to say, that creature is addicted to pain, in quite a severe way." Mei gave her reply about the scenes they had gone through together with Rosa, still not quite sure if she should go more graphic in her explanations about what they did together. "I suppose we could sleep then, if you really don't have anything in mind." she carried on the conversation, going along with the mage towards that tiny room that she had been assigned to.
