Remember this street racing visual novel that was released in Japan back in 2005?

I've actually never gotten around to completing it, because for whatever reason I'm not able to unlock the true Michi ending along with other CGs.
See, I've followed the walkthrough posted on IGN and VNDB discussions, and they're about the same. I suspect there's a bug that's affecting the conditions needed. During the Kyouko arc - the third arc with the black-haired girl - there's a choice before the race where you can select "Let's change the stakes!" This choice supposedly unlocks a CG along the way, though I've no idea if it affects any conditions later on. However, this choice does nothing. Instead, the game treats the flow as if I never selected "Let's change the stakes!" I know this for sure, because there's suppose to be a unique choice up ahead after the race "I'll help you!" This option is never available. By the time the game finishes, I'm also locked out of the true michi ending due to the fact that the game registers me as having pursued other characters, when I know I didn't take these choices. Not seeing any of the other heroines' h-scenes in a single playthrough seems to be the requirement for seeing the true Michi ending. However, this is not possible with the bug.

If possible, does anyone know a solution or a work-around?

Search for 萌えろDownhillNight-峠最速伝説- on .
The website does not like people directly linking to individual guides, so I'm heeding their advice.

Follow the guide. All endings can be obtained in just two playthroughs provided players follow the instructions when told to save.
I've never had an issue with this website's guides for old games, and English guides for classic 18+ Japanese H-games are never prepared by users proficient with the Japanese language so errors are to be expected.

If you can't read, then use a machine tool which can output something you can understand.

Excluding the fact that the guide is in Japanese, the instructions are identical to the guides I've been using. I tried following the guide anyway, but I'm still unable to satisfy the conditions.
Thanks anyway.

If you're following the guide, why are you talking about the playthrough 1 michi end 1 conditions and then complaining you can't get to michi end 2?

Might be easier if you just do the game straight from the beginning on the second run and then do the choices advised for michi end 2. Seeing as both Japanese guides are the same, it's most likely a copy-and-paste error from the original guide which the author didn't pick up.

That's the thing. I'm not able to get Michi End 2, even while following the guide. It becomes very obvious to me when there's dialogue that talks about how the MC pursued other characters or how the MC had sex with the silver-haired girl Lily behind everyone's backs after the final race. In all my latest attempts I avoided triggering those h-scenes, but the game behaves as if I did trigger those h-scenes, and thus locks me out of the Michi end 2. As for the the part when I talked about "Let's change the stakes!" That's an early example of the game ignoring previously selected choices. I'm locked out of viewing that optional scene and CG because the game behaves as if I never selected "Let's change the stakes!"

I take it you're playing the English edition of the game, so you'll need to check if it's something unique to that rather than a problem with the Japanese original.

Also, if you've already finished one end featuring Michi then follow the choices to get to the other ending but on a fresh game (no saves) and following the choices which exclude all other romantic options.

Unfortunately, I've already started a fresh new game several times. No save files. I even took out every other file and replaced them with new ones. I have same issue.
I think at this point my only solution is to either play the Japanese original or find someone who has files I can use.

Good luck. Sounds like an English version issue.

Thanks anyway for taking the time to respond back to me. You're the first one I managed to get a hold of who has played this game.
