I was just wondering after you know... 2... maybe 3 weeks of analyzing dlsite games what kind of h-games people like.

I saw that almost EVERY game was a traditional ryona. Female heroine, raped by enemy/enemies once she loses or as part of the gameplay. I'm just wondering if that's really what people want?

I myself like straight - monster girls. So! Let the discussion begin!

Personally, the first game that I played (hentai of course) was True Love, an AVG/Sim type game very old, that was like 10 years ago or something, after that one, I barely remember played another one, at least, as big as that one, most of the time were little flash animations that for some reason were called "games", until I came across Jungle Girl by LineMarvel, and I was so intrigued by the concept, because it was so fresh, I don't really know which RoR game was the very first one to exist, but that was the first one I came across, and I loved the concept, then came by the who-which-name-shouldn't-be-spoken (TP) and liked the concept even more, so now, if a GAME (something where you have an objective, and can LOSE, that's a game) doesn't have in-game rape and animations, I left it pass, every game that has CG sex scenes I care little to nothing about it.

So, in a nutshell, my favorite types of games are the ones that have:
The 'yes'
- If it's a Ror it's a HUGE plus, but not the rule
- Flash (because it has 90% chance of having animations)
- animations (even if they are GoR, but I play little of those)
- the main char is a girl (Erotiacl Night is the exception)
- if it has mosnters or tentacles better
- happy sex
- some form of corruption of the char/ the char grows more fond of sex as she has more of it

The 'no'
- Text based
- GURO
- RYONA
- VORE
- GoR (GameOver Rape)
- CG sex
- Visual Novel
- RPG (Again Ero Night, VH, Cherry poi's are exceptions)

That was very informative, and I'm actually EXTREMELY surprised you think RPG is a "no." Maybe it's because of the fact that most RPGs aren't translated but I'm not going into that.

Also No Ryona? Umm... yeah... everything you described about liking in eroge fits under ryona and only under ryona.

About animations. Yeah, i 100% agree that animations will just make the game 10x better. I don't stay away from games that don't have animations but I agree that it normally makes the experience better.

Scat, Guro, complete vore, shota games are what I stay away from. I can deal with some light - medium ryona (say, impaled by a sword and blood) I'll cringe, but won't complain too much. Playing Iris Action made me more flexible to vore, but as long as it doesn't go batshit insane with it. As long as it doesn't weird me out, it'll be at least neutral.

I'm pretty neutral about tentacles, I hate when it gets too weird and disgusting to look at. VNs and ADV games I can't really say since I can't read them worth anything. I try not to play games where there's a male lead, unless you are actually rewarded for winning against female enemies or something. (Something like Queen of Opala?), Reverse rape doesn't tickle my fancy.

Being a female lead pretty much means you lose to something and get the hentai, don't really want it to be to complex (loljapanese). I'm a 2D Pedophile so you guys know what that means...

I'd actually like to play an h-game with sub-par or more story(playing porn for story?) So I play RPGs that's translate-able, I also play the action side scrollers, but they seem to have some guro in them to my dismay.

Oh, I voted Futa - Monstergirls. Cause I like futa. It developed for my deep love of yuri and my shattered dreams due to more malexfemale content than femalexfemale content (at least, when I started looking at hentai.)

That aside, you are right, you gotta put your everything in your game. It should sorta tell the buyer of what you like and enjoy, try to see if they agree with it and enjoy the way you presented it. No one's forcing you to cater to anyone, so really, you gotta have fun with it.

I'm very much into the foreplay aspect of sex so my favorite type of games are ones that allow touch interactivity with the mouse like in the earlier MnF games as well as many of JSK's games.

Care to explain? Are you saying that everything I like about an H-game fits under Ryona? Maybe my definition is wrong (actually, I've never read a formal definition of Ryona, I just go from what I've seen labeled as that) but I think Ryona is the 'soft' version of Gore/Guro am I wrong?

Oh, and also, I'm a COMPLETE sucker for games where the arousal bar actually does something and when you have the option to give in, or surrender, and your choice is reflected on the following dialogue (if there's dialogue to begin with). The more control over my actions I'm given in a game, the better.

Oh, and also I didn't mentioned it earlier but might as well, more 'NO' for me are: scat, inflation, necro, BDSM, insemination, enemas, and, well, at this point I think most should have an idea what I don't like.

EDIT: Ok searched for a definition and I was indeed very close to home, the only part I didn't know, is that basically, on the simplest level, Ryona is the fetish of rape, which I don't like either, it might sound a little hypocrite, but as far as rape goes (human on human) I can stand it, as long as the victim is not harmed physically in any way, and I said it might sound hypocrite because if the raper is a monster it's ok with me (again, as long as the victim is not harmed in any way)

Like:
- Female protagonist (with or without male organs, makes little difference to me). I don't mind male protagonists but I prefer female protagonists.
- Traditionally beautiful female characters, regardless of type (I can't stand slimes, traditional zombies, etc.)
- Animated art complemented with text. If I'm to be aroused by something I'd damn well need to know what's going on.
- Battlefuck with good mechanics: So far the only game that's fulfilled this criterion for me is Succubus Quest. My logic is, hell, if you're gonna make a game about sex, might as well make sex a central part of the game and make the game about it. And if you build the game around sex, you need good sex mechanics. And if it's to be a game it needs to contain something to play; sex battle is the easiest answer.

Dislike:
- Blood and bodily harm in general. If I'm playing a sex game, I probably don't want to see people beaten to bloody pulp (though if it's a part of the story and the story is good, that's fine, but I prolly won't play it as a H-game). I have plenty of tolerance though.
- Shota/Loli: I prefer adult or at least late teen/early 20's characters, thank you very much (most art is so age-neutral that it's not hard to imagine the characters any way one wants though).
- Any scat-variations


In short, ideally I'd want Succubus Quest with Ero Nights-level art and female/futa protagonist (the latter makes little difference to me). And even more developed combat mechanics, á la what the mods have done for SQ. Story doesn't matter overtly much as long as it's there and somehow tries to explain what's happening.

While waiting for that I'll play what exists though. RPG Maker is ironically, while quite helpful for letting people with little technical know-how and lots of enthusiasm to make games, quite harmful for quality animated art since it plays so poorly with animation; to animate something for RPG Maker you need to draw each frame separately which is way more work (and space) than doing something with proper animation software.

I looked it up and yeah this really easily fits under ryona. How can you say you don't like rape btw, corruption rarely ever happens in any other way.

Also, sex as a gameplay mechanic seems to be more popular than I thought.

I don't recall there being vore, gore, or bloodshed in Eroico. Maybe you are thinking of a different game? Eroico's the one with the orange haired male protagonist with the sword and shield. All the enemies are monster girls.

Maybe I'm derping on the title or the name of fetishes...
