Adjusting her newly acquired shield and armor, Luna glanced around the long, windy road. Heaving a bored sigh, she trudged along, not particularly going anywhere. She had no idea where she was, since she'd carefully avoided every town she'd past, unwilling to risk being arrested as an escaped slave and returned to her master to face his wrath.

Dusk started to fall, and Luna realized that she'd need to find some kind of shelter for the night. Nearby, a wolf howled into the approaching night, followed by a small chorus of replies.

' I'd better find shelter soon. In the morning ill continue, then soon I should be out of Badarian territory, then ill be safe... ' Luna thought to herself as she continued her walk down the windy road. She had made a lot of progress in traveling and was sure she'd be out of this horrible and by tomorrow, then she could roam freely, doing whatever she wanted. She was tempted to continue traveling at night but knew doing such a thing was far too risky. Instead the girl began to look around as she walked, trying to find anything that would make a shelter. She had heard the howls of beasts and wanted a place to take shelter before she ran into any of the howling wolves.

Quickening her pace, Luna hears the howling getting closer. After a few minutes, Luna spots a trio of wolves rush out of the woods and onto the road. The three beasts turn toward her, growling, and Luna is able to register the strange deformities on the beasts even as they stalk toward her, coming within fifteen feet before splitting up and circling her.

"Uh-oh..." Luna said as she was being surrounded by three big, bad, wolves. She raised her sword and shield defenselessly as her eyes looked at the beasts circling her. She wasn't a violent type, and would very much like to avoid a conflict like this. However, it seemed these beasts were unreasonable. " Couldn't we just talk this over? " Luna said and followed with a nervous laugh. She kept in a defensive stance, waiting for one of the beasts to strike first so she could counter.

One of the wolves, the one staying in front of her, rushes forward to attack her, biting at her arm.

To-hit: 9 + 20 = 29 vs 33 = miss.

Luna sidesteps the beasts rush, and is in an excellent position to launch an attack of her own against it.

" Sorry wolfy! " Luna said as she suddenly trusted her sword at the wolf who she had had managed to dodge. Her blade was aimed at the beasts body, it would hopefully pierce and wound it. She hoped it wouldn't die though, she hoped she didn't have to kill any of these things. She just wanted to wound them to the point where she could run and they couldn't follow.

To-hit: 1 + 46 + 3 = 50 vs 20 = hit.
Damage: 9 + 10 = 19 damage.

The wolf yelps as her blade bites into its side, and the beast retreats a few feet to continue circling. Its two companions, however, rush to attack from behind her while she is distracted by their companion.

To-hit: 4 + 20 = 24 vs 33 - 4 = 29 == miss.
To-hit: 12 + 20 = 32 vs 33 - 4 = 29 == hit.
Damage: 4 + 6 = 10 - 3 = 7 damage.

Luna pulls herself out of the way of one of the beasts attacking her from behind only to feel the seconds claws rake her side through her clothes, drawing a bit of blood as the wolf passes by.

" Ahh! " Luna yelled out when the wolf suddenly clawed at her. Her teeth gritted as her back screamed in pain. She decided now would be a good time to get a bit more serious with this fight, and decided to attack rather than wait for a chance to make a counter. Luna ran towards the wolf who clawed her and slashed as it with her sword, her blade looking to hit whatever was easiest to land a hit on.

To-hit: 11 + 46 + 3 = 60 vs 20 = hit.
Damage: 4 + 10 = 14 damage.

Luna is able to slash at the wolf as it rushes to get away, cutting off its tail. The beast continues away, and suddenly Luna hears a growl behind her, warning her that the already wounded wolf was behind her, ready to attack.

To-hit: 11 20 = 31 vs 33 - 4 = 29 == hit.
Damage: 1 + 6 = 7 - 3 = 4 damage.

The wolf claws at her as it jumps by her, drawing some more scratches on her side.

"Ahh!" Luna cried out upon being clawed, starting to get frustrated. Facing the wolf who had just attacked her Luna turned to it, then suddenly slashed her sword at it. The blade went over her head, then quickly down, aimed at the wolf's upper back. Hopefully the blow would finish off the dog. At this point, Luna didn't care if she had to kill the wolves or not. it was obvious enough they planned to kill her, she had no choice.

To-hit: 11 + 46 + 3 = 60 vs 20 = hit.
Damage: 4 + 10 = 14 damage

Her blow cracks against the wolfs skull, cutting out one of the beasts eyes and quickly killing it. The other two rush her once again.

To-hit: 12 + 20 = 32 vs 33 - 4 = 29 == hit.
Damage: 1 + 6 = 7 - 3 = 4 damage.
Grapple: 14 + 20 = 34 vs 33 = Success.

The first wolf scratches at her, drawing some shallow cuts along her leg. While she is distracted by it, however, she feels a sudden impact against her back, and she is knocked to the ground, the second beast on top of and behind her.

Luna frowned when she killed the wolf, feeling bad for the animal. She didn't want to kill the beast, she just wanted it not to kill her. Her slight distraction from her slightly saddened state caused her to let her guard down, thus letting the two remaining wolves take her down with ease. " Ow! " she cried out when she was scatched again. When the other wolf suddenly tacked her onto the ground she let a slight groan out, the impact not feeling pleasent. With one of the wolves mounted on her she struggled, trying to get the animal off of her.

Grapple: 18 + 46 = 64 vs 20 + 20 = 40 == Luna wins.

Luna kicks the wolfs legs out and rolls out from under the beast, regaining her feet before the other one can attack her. The two wolves go back to circling her once the first gets back on its feet.

Agitated, Luna didn't wait for one of the wolves to strike before she countered. She tightened her grip on the hilt of her sword as she gave the wolves an annoyed and angry glare. She quickly dashes at the wolf that had just oddly mounter her after her short glare, thrusting her sword as the beasts body.

To-hit: 15 + 40 + 3 = 58 vs 20 = hit.
Damage: 9 + 10 = 19 damage

Her blade slides into the wolfs side as it tries to jump out of the way, the beasts innards falling out as she yanks her blade free. Luna turns just in time to see the other wolf rushing at her from behind.

To-hit: 4 + 20 = 24 vs 35 == miss.

She narrowly avoids the wolfs claws by diving out of the way, and rises to meet the last of her attackers evenly, the wolf growling menacingly.

Luna was just about finished with this fight, all that was left was this one wolf. Luna glares at the wolf as it growls at her, staring it down before she attacked it. Then, without warning, Luna charges at the wolf. Her boots hit against the ground below her as she runs, dashing at the beast. When she was in range she thrusts her sword at the beasts body, hoping to kill it in one final blow.

Damage: 12 + 13 = 25 damage.

Her slash does indeed finish the fight, as her blade cuts the wolfs head off. Its lifeless body thuds to the ground a second after its head, and Luna is left alone on the road.

"Ugh..." Luna said as she frowned, looking at the dead bodys of the wolves. Looking at the animals she couldn't help but notice how the body's of the wolves look...Odd. Luna hadn't seen too many wolves in her days, however these ones seemed weird. Seeing that they were dead Luna got closer to them. She got down to one of the beasts and began to inspect it, looking it over. She had once heard that sometimes monsters and other things have gold and items inside them. She didn't believe that, although she would check anyways as she looked over the dead body's.

On the first corpse, the beheaded one, a small, glowing red stone fell out of the beasts neck. It looked valuable, and it seemed liekly that the other wolves had similar stones somewhere.

Luna looked at the glowing red stone, almost amazed. " The legends are true..." she mumbled in amazement, shocked that such a pretty red stone had come out of the wolf. Looking over to the beasts fallen companions, Luna knew there must be more of the glowing red stones. Quickly, she slipped the one she had picked up and put it into the small leather bag she had on her. She went over to another wolf and searched it for a red stone. She'd do this to the other wolf before finally moving on.
