Sophie has high damage because she has such low initiative, and no crit worth mentioning. And yes, evolutions tend to give a significant bonus, in that usually a R++ will be superior to a SR of roughly equal level. However thhat's just these runs of SRs, I have an event SR on DMM that is quite impressive no evolutions her stats at 21 are Atk: 7k Skill 14k Crit: 15 Balance: 7 and a abysmal 15% initiative.
So for Comparison
Those are MAX stats, but maxing 4 base copies then maxing the 2 evolved copies, so as you can see, sandra will crit twice as often harder, and activate her skill almost twice as often for just a bit less than sophie. Although she does a a more unpredictable damage spread with her balance stat.
